I know I'll cop shit for this (and there is certainly plenty of 'taking this piss' punnage available) but I think R. Kelly's Trapped In The Closet series is a masterpiece. Suspense, intrigue, twists and turns. I am not ashamed to say it :)
I will admit, me and my whole family accidentally started watching it and ended up watching the whole damn thing like somebody had a gun to our head. Either it's art or it's like a grizzly car accident.

"I'm blessed" This recording is indeed entertaining. I have never smoked weed, but thought it must feel like what it feels like catching my breath after laughing through this entire piece.
- Josh Haley
The only thing better than Trapped in the Closet? R. Kelly's own commentary on Trapped in the Closet. BRILLIANT.
- ::Kristen::
Truely? Where do I get it?... Don't tell me I have to actually purchase a DVD!
- Johnny Worthington
You could go rent it, but you might want to put a sack over your head when you do.

Gave this to a friend for her birthday recently. She was somewhat nonplussed, but I'm sure she'll come to appreciate its greatness.

I had only seen the South Park one before. This is great!

Gah! Trapped in the Closet has to be one of the most ridiculous 'pieces' in all of music history. Train wreck doesn't even come close.

I work as a church organist/choir director, piano teacher, and accompanist. I also played trombone in high school, and recorder (for one year in school and several Christmas Eves at church). Oh, yes, and I sang in choirs from about grade 3 onwards.
- Scott of Two Countries
teleken, I also use Sonar and a little Reason on PC. You must like Mac Logic Studio now, though, huh? Is it as good as they say?
- Josh Haley
Ooo, Scott! I forgot that I've played the entire family of recorders in local early music consorts. Transposing in your head FTW! :-)

Josh - in 12 years of DAW, I've used everything from shareware to Pro Tools. Logic is the *only* package where I can say everything you need is in the box. It's remarkable.

I never played any instruments, but my grandfather was a minister of Pentecostal church in Memphis, TN, where we were shipped off every summer. Sang in the choir up until high school. Some solos, even!

nlike the AMEX's invitation-only Centurion Card, Visa is taking applications for its Black Card Program. The card comes with a variety of benefits such as 24hr concierge service, luxury gifts, priority access to airport lounges, and a membership limited to 1% of US residents. And if that wasn't enough they've also crafted the card out of a patent pending "Carbon Graphite" material. Link: $495 per year

I have a hard time seeing a vehicle for debt as a status symbol. Seems counter-intuitive to me. If it was a credit card with the statement sent to Bill Gates, NOW you're talking.
- Martha
actually seeing anything as a status symbol is stupid
- clarke thomas
@Clarke, I agree. Credit Cards merely try to tie itself into the insecure and material hyperbolic society that needs to measure itself( and creditworthiness) by a piece of plastic or the amount of meaningless items it can bring. FAIL@ Visa. With the bolides of debt, foreclosures, and unemployment crashing down upon us, one would consider the naive insult this brings.

Have not upgraded. Have not heard good things. I have Vista as well and that is all I need is more problems.
- Stephen
Thanks everyone, I have still yet to update LOL
- Mona Nomura
Mona, if you do I recommend doing it from the update on the Apple website, not system update. I hear the file sizes are different between the two, which could possible be part of the issue.

Let me know if you're seeing the same thing. http://www.TwitterCounter.com is showing a massive uptick in followers for just about everyone lately...
- Louis Gray
Shawn, I don't think it's the FriendFeed app that is doing this. I checked people who I don't think use FriendFeed, and they were seeing the same. And I've never used the app...
- Louis Gray
Let me just say that *I* followed a few hundred new people yesterday thanks to https://twitter2ff.appspot.com/ and many of them have followed me back. I'm sure Twitter itself is also growing independently of that.
- Daniel J. Pritchett
According to twittercounter, I usually get +1 a day, but I got 6 yesterday. Of those 6, 4 were spammers and I only refollowed 2. That's 2/3rds. I wonder how much spam followers and SEO specialists account for the recent spikes.
- Alan Le
I ran the app last night and have received about a hundred reciprocal follows (which wasn't the reason I used it). But I agree with Louis: FF's growth is organic. In any case, they're aren't enough FF users to account for this sort of spike. It's real.
- Chris Baskind
Louis - Do you get facebook updates to your email box everyday?? So much data to sift through. Wow.
- Amani
Can't say I've seen any of this personally, the one thing I see is people more open to conversations in Twitter -- like they're warming up to the concept of social dialogue
- Jorge Escobar
@Amani, I get all updates to e-mail and I never delete. I just sort to folders.
- Louis Gray
I've noticed a big uptick, too Among other things, perhaps this is related to the economy and the increased need for networking.
- Mike Reynolds
@Chris @ Daniel, I too ran the twitter2ff app two days ago and found that every time I do a massive Twitter-Following-Spree I get both a boatload of reciprocals but also a secondary wave -- from folks who I hadn't followed. Same hasn't been true for me on FF. I'm not sure there's any significance to that, but I've also just felt that people are quicker to follow on Twitter.
- Marko Bon
I've noticed this as well - been wondering why I've suddenly started getting at least 2 followers a day.
- Alexander Carlill
Louis I am seeing the same, I don't have many followers but 25 new in a week is a big increase!
- Joe Dawson
seems like the "value" of twitter followers decreases as people follow more and more people
- Deva Hazarika
Well, for one thing, we have near 2,233 people auto-following on SocialToo.com. Amongst those, there are near 2 million followers. So, near 2,233 people are automatically following you when you follow them. I'm sure that's only one factor though. Also, you have to follow them first to get them to follow you back.
- Jesse Stay
Deva, I totally agree, it's a disjointed mosh/race for followers, influence and kudos that will start to stink soon
- Bob Sonin
@Deva and @Bob, my thinking is that if there is a statistic out there to be counted, people will find it. Also, I believe people are growing more comfortable with following many and not treating it like Facebook, etc.
- Louis Gray
anyone think it may be folks who have lost their jobs, I have had an uptick in linkedin folks for that reason.
- Mark Ramsey
I think 1-2% of real people are comfortable/capable of following many but most people are not and prefer water cooler style network news, dumbed down for the masses without having to think too much, perfect for the couch and no thought required
- Bob Sonin
Followers are spiking, but if you read Darren Rowse's new blog TwiTip regularly, I GUARANTEE you'll see a noticeable spike in your followers. Darren Rowse is a preeminent authority on how to use Twitter.
- J. D. Ebberly
I can't use the twitter2ff app because my own usernames differ on the two services. But I'm OK with that - Twitter is still mostly an afterthought for me. Friendfeed is my home base. Live and learn on the username thing, though. Personal branding fail.
- Laura Norvig
I was just thinking this today. I've had a good uptick in followers on Twitter over the past few weeks. I thought I was special and people were digging my updates.
- Vaughn
I've seen a large uptick in followers which a large majority of are from FF so I do think that users here are heavily usin the Twitter2FF app. I'm glad they have too because I am now following many folks from here because of it.
- Mark Krynsky
Thanks. Never heard of it. Now used it, liked it, and recommending it!
- Linus
Weird. Just tweeted about that then read this. Twitter has, for the first time, eclipsed FF for me. Considering I've been mostly offline this week, kinda strange ....

OK, so here's what I'm on today: All my "good" music is at least a year old, and I am in dire need of new music that's not just OK, but truly great. So please please please suggest some music, because I'm not finding it.
I'm about to do a show of all Gentle Readers music. They have 3 albums, of which the first is good but not great. The 2nd two I think are great. Beyond that, if you aren't familiar with Wim Mertens of Soft Verdict, his album Maximizing the Audience is truly amazing. Not new, but maybe to you.
- Dave Slusher
I used to play the title track in college radio days, and recently i bought the album. I hadn't heard it in some time and it was indeed as amazing as I recalled when I heard it again.
- Dave Slusher
I can recommend plenty of great music, but I'd need some pointers on what kind of stuff you're into.

@Kol Not sure about RTM's benefits but on Evernote you get to upload 500mb/month (as opposed to 40mb) as well as https access. On Flickr it means unlimited uploads vs 100mb/month limit, unlimited number of sets (albums) and archiving of your originals in high-resolution.

My Flickr account recently expired, but now that I have money again I'll probably re-up. In the past, Livejournal and Photobucket, but I moved on from them years ago. I love the free RTM, but I didn't even know they had pro accounts - might have to check that out.

Flickr and Zooomr. I had one on Pownce as well.

My #1 problem lies in their UI. I have adapted to it but it has to be one of the least intuitive UI's I've worked or struggled with. That's not exceptable from a site tring to charge for it's use. I've finally figured it out but, I remember the headache, I used to get trying to change something simple. There not the only photo sharing site that have nice UI's, so I know they can do...

"Sexual intercourse provides but fleeting satisfaction, while chastity offers a better life and "more freedom", the Dalai Lama has said. Conjugal life causes too many "ups and downs", the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader told reporters in a Lagos hotel. "Sexual pressure, sexual desire, actually, I think is short-period satisfaction and, often, that leads to more complication," he said. "Naturally as a human being...some kind of desire for sex comes, but then you use human intelligence to make comprehension that those relationships are always full of trouble.""

This a problem inherent in Buddhism: it's really a monastic discipline. There's no special exception for laypeople -- but, of course, distinctions exist. Here His Holiness is speaking as a monk. He also maintains some rather primitive opinions on homosexuality.

There may indeed be benefits to sublimating one's sexual drive so that it is expressed as love for all. However, that is a special discipline that not all are called to. Those who are, deserve our support. Those who are not, deserve our support, as well. The only real problem I see with intercourse is when it is used as a weapon, to degrade or exploit or hurt.
- Ladybug Heather
It is one of my theories that the more you sacrifice to a theory or an idea, the more attached you grow to that idea and the less likely you are to challenge it or listen to challenges - because it would make you a fool to have sacrificed that much. Religions have implicitely understood it and have always asked people to sacrifice things like certain food, sexual intimacy etc. You might say they gain mana from it ;)

Super Paper Mario, Cooking Mama, My Sim, Harvest Moon, Mario Kart, Mario Strikers, Mario Party 8...I just asked the kids, that was their input ;)

A term originated around 1994 in the alt.tasteless newsgroup as a response to the question "What is the sound of a good skull fucking?" The term was quickly picked up by the alt.fuck.the.skull.of.jesus group and used primarily within Subgenius circles as a verb meaning "To fuck someone in the skull." The term was co-opted by the BDSM community some time latter, and its original meaning is often overlooked or ignored.
