"For each query, Cpedia algorithmically summarizes and clusters the ideas on the web and uses this to generate a report. We do the heavy lifting of removing all the repetition, so that unique and novel content surfaces. Just as Wikipedia uses the effort of a large number of people to edit a topic, we combine all the documents written about an idea on the web to generate one article.

"As you visit the Facebook Blog today, you'll notice something different. We've launched a new design aimed at making this blog more visually appealing and helping you discover more stories about what's happening at Facebook—from our latest product launches and company announcements to our ongoing series on product tips and interesting ways people are connecting on the service. As we've shared more stories with you over the past year, we realized that our old blog design limited your ability to navigate and discover the most relevant posts. Now, you'll see more navigational options, prominent sections that feature interesting stories and an easier-to-read font size."

"Ever seen a picture online that you're kicking yourself for not saving, especially now that it's been removed? There's a good chance it may still be saved on your computer; all you need to do is familiarize yourself with your browser's cache."

"The new Windows MultiPoint Mouse Software Development Kit (SDK) 1.5 will enable software developers to create interactive applications that allow up to 25 students, each with his or her own mouse, to use a single PC at the same time. Also announced was Microsoft Mouse Mischief, a MultiPoint-enabled tool that teachers can use to create interactive PowerPoint classroom presentations."

"“‘How many apps?’ is the wrong question,” said Michael Powers, CEO and founder of Mplayit. ”People just want to get the job done. It doesn’t matter if there are 50 different to-do list apps on iPhone, because Android or BlackBerry just need a couple of good ones to make consumers happy.”"

On a popular file-sharing site, I saw this movie at 1.4 Gig size total. Wondering if the raw files are 1 PB or so? This is something havent seen before for any movie, even with lot of similar effects or full-motion animation films...
- TrafficBug
That would be the final rendered files (assuming those were rippied from DVD or Bluray). the originals will be far bigger since they are higher res and contain the original 3D stuff (wireframes, animation, keyframes, textures, etc)

"Our Chinese is a bit rusty and the details are sparse but it looks like Motorola may be brewing up another Android-powered handset. This handset, codenamed the Mirage or the Shadow, breaks the mold by sporting a 4.3 inch, 800×484 display instead of the now standard 3.7 inch display. It is also rumored to include an HDMI port, 8 megapixel camera, 1080p video playback and measures a mere 9.0mm in thickness. The rendering provided is crude but the handset appears to have the same angular design of the Motorola DROID and Milestone. That is all we have on this Mirage/Shadow as no other details are available. Anyone out there care to fill in the blanks?"

BlackBerry App World Still Leads in Most Expensive Apps | Windows close behind ~ all my BB expenses are comp'd via work - http://www.blackberrycool.com/2009...
"GigaOM and Mobclix have put together a nice chart showing the average cost of a paid application on each smartphone app store. We have talked a few times about how App World has the highest priced apps relative to the other smartphones, and to date, it still leads by over a $1 compared to the next highest Windows Mobile. RIM should be much more active in helping developers drive these prices down. At the very least, App World needs a better promotional system similar to the BlackBerry Cool Store, so they can offer a Deal of the Day, BOGO campaigns and MobileHeist sales."

"Microsoft has dominated e-mail for years. Hotmail is one of the most popular web e-mail services, while Outlook remains the most popular desktop tool for reading and managing the inbox. Gmail on the other hand represents the rapid advance of online e-mail technology, which allows you to access your inbox from anywhere in the world. Which do you prefer? We want to know, so be sure to add your vote in the poll below and let us know what you think of desktop e-mail and Outlook versus Gmail and the advance of webmail in the comments."

This is a goofy match-up. Outlook is a corporate e-mail solution that just so happens to also have the ability to connect with non-corporate resources. Gmail is a non-corporate e-mail solution that just so happens to [arguably] have the ability to be used in a corporate environment.
- Akiva
For personal use, Gmail is a smart, fast and agile solution. For just send and receiving emails... But for professional uses, such as OneNote integration, Bulk sending, Synchronised contact management/grouping/nesting/managing/sharing ,built-in email, sms, messaging and fax management/sending /receiving, Sharepoint posting,RSS Reading/Sharing ,Email flow ruling etc. MS Outlook is still much better on the topics above...

I hates me some Outlook... Gmail all the way!
- Janice
I chose Gmail too myself. Although TBH as some have pointed out, this isn't a fair comparison. Still, Gmail + GCal >>> Outlook by far

Yes, Social media mumbojumbo needs none of above :D

Gmail for me. I stopped using Outlook ages ago. I like Gmail's price too. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
both. they serve different purposes for me.

"<snip> Gmail on the other hand represents the rapid advance of online e-mail technology, which allows you to access your inbox from anywhere in the world..." Lol, it sounds like they're saying Gmail pioneered webmail.
- Arawak
suppose outlook is getting it's own thing on.. for me it doesn't do it.. but need it because of the exchange integration.. and I use xobni to make it more bearable...
- Jaap Willem
I am migrating to Gmail, but I do have to say that Outlook with Xobni is pretty freakin' cool.
- Martha
yeah, with a filter and then xobni makes it ok.. still prefer Gmail for my own business though
- Jaap Willem
Gmail. Outlook constantly crashes and freezes up.
- rowlikeagirl
Gmail. It's simple, with tens of thousands of emails, searching via Outlook is a time sink.
- John Hogenesch
They are completely different animals, so it's an unfair comparison. You should be comparing Gmail to Live Mail, as Outlook is just a desktop client which can be used with multiple servers (typically, with Exchange). As for me, I use both Gmail and Outlook less and less: they are both being substituted with push-email on my smartphones.
- Pavlo Zahozhenko
Surely it does, I use it. My point is that when the primary way to access email is via push-email on smartphone, email server itself is irrelevant (assuming it is stable enough).
