Indeed, I do. I was so jealous when someone posted from the west coast about eating crepes filled with Nutella, whipped cream and strawberries, but there was nowhere I could go for that. I was in Cincinnati yesterday and took advantage of Jungle Jim's proximity to pick up some things I can't find in town, and when I saw crepes (which I will NOT make myself), I nabbed 'em! Now I need the other three ingredients.

Nope. Neither the chocolate nor the hazelnut flavor seems to pop out to me, it just tastes sweet. I'd rather have the fresh ground chocolate peanut butter from Whole Foods.

Hi :) I'll write recipes with nutella a.s.a.p :P
- SanalMutfak (M)
No, it's disgusting. The worst such hazelnut cream produced, sticky, oversweet and at the same time flavorless. There are bunches of much better similar creams around, not necessarly hugely more costly: Novi cream is hugely better and still in the same price range!

Alice come on... a little spoon of Nutella could make you less ... :P

- SanalMutfak (M)
@Eta, nutella is disgusting. not hazelnut creams. The point is that nutella has next to no hazelnut in, that's part of what makes it so bad. Again, try some better hazelnut creams, stuff that does not feel like sugary glue in your mouth but rather is silky with a distinct taste of toasted hazelnut. You will taste the difference.
- Alice Twain

Don't worry too much about getting the number sequence right. I've got a little script that just looks at the item via the API and gets the proper count.
- Ken Sheppardson
Caroline: Eventually it could get a good approximation of everybody who wants to be counted, but more importantly I just sorta thought it might be fun, you know?

If you could get the Turkish and Persian users in this thread, the count would jump up tremendously.

Well, if we get one or two bilingual folks to notice it, it might have a chance. If it gets rolling, I might have to pull out some of the comment/like timestamp info, dig in with the API and generate a little report. A little weekend science project.

FRIENDFEED IS DEAD?? BRAAAAAAAIINNNNNNSSSSSS!!!!!
- Joe Silence
I wonder if it would be possible to figure this out more efficiently using the FriendFeed API or something?
- Rahsheen the Dream
Well, http://www.ffholic.com sorta does that, Rahsheen. For example, it says you're the ~350th or so most active user, and I'm the ~2000th, so one could sort of extrapolate from those sorts of stats.
- Ken Sheppardson
206? That's it? I mean, I understand we're likely not going to get many non-English respondents, but 206?
- Ken Sheppardson
Ken, you'll recall that not everyone with hands participated in Hands Across America.
- Micah
Ken that's about 26% of those who are subscribed to you. What would be interesting to do is go to each of their accounts and see how many of your 785 subscribers are actually active, i.e. have they made a native posting here recently, have they commented on anyone's post recently. I'll bet you that a significant number of those who are following you are not actually active users.
- Jeff P. Henderson
I don't think this method is very scientific, Ken! As you said above, you're the 2000th as far as activity. If you got a more active user, and/or one with lots of followers to post this same question, you would get different numbers. Also, the way you phrased this originally, you didn't ask people to share it, bump it, etc.
- Laura Norvig
You all have made great points about what's wrong with the method, and I'll probably do a little write-up that addresses them and does some analysis of the results... but meanwhile... 209? Come on, if you see this, consider yourself an active FF user, but haven't liked or commented... why not?
- Ken Sheppardson
I don't know if this was already mentioned, but remember that there are lots of non-English-speaking FFers not covered by this survey. There are also probably some people who just aren't in our circle.

"Garcia, 18, spent most of his years at Fairfax openly gay and wanted to be part of the Los Angeles school's prom court -- but not as prom king. He felt that vying for prom queen would better suit his personality, so he decided to seek that crown, running against a handful of female classmates. He said it started out as a bit of a stunt and challenge -- he wasn't sure the school would allow it. But his campaign for queen ended up being serious and sparking dialogue about gender roles on campus."

I just don't get it. Queens are female, kings are male. If he was a transexual then I could understand the move as a political statement but he even says he doesn't want to be a girl.
- ChiliMac
well, I've known a few queens and ALL of them have been males...
- Kelly W.
@chilimac if you're really thinking in those terms, then you're not likely to get it. however, i suspect that you just don't want to get it. what is there to get? i think the decision was in an effort to bend the rules of gender and roles. queens=female kings=male. that's what you're comment says. obviously they don't feel exactly the same way in that school.
- docrivs
maybe the point was that queen = feminine, king = masculine In that case, it doesn't matter if the the queen is actually a woman.
- Alejandro
@docrivs: The reason I don't get it start off with what kings and queens are. Kings are male monarchs, queens are female monarchs. That is the definition and the historical context of the two terms. Sergio is quoted as saying ""I see myself as a boy with a different personality. . . . I don't wish to be a girl...". He doesn't wish to be a girl but campaigned to be prom queen? I'm glad...

- ChiliMac
@chilimac i see what you're getting at, now. if he was challenging the masculine stereotypes of what being a man/male is all about, then you're thinking he could have chosen to be elected king. my bad. i thought that you were trying to say something completely different from that. @alejandro helped your point too.

Anyone who is observant, who discovers the person they have always dreamed of, knows that sexual energy comes into play before sex even takes place. The greatest pleasure isn’t sex, but the passion with which it is practiced. When the passion is intense, then sex joins in to complete the dance, but it is never the principal aim. - http://silas216.tumblr.com/post...

I really like that design, easy to move around, enough space for a few hens, and fairly secure.I made my chicken tractor out of scrap wood though and it didn't wind up costing much at all. I also had a rabbit hutch that I used for a couple of bantam hens that worked really well.

As a leader of Conservation International's (CI) scientific programmes, and co-chair of the Amphibian Specialist Group with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Dr Gascon has seen a fair few frogs and salamanders in his life; but little, he says, to compare with this. Fortunately for all of our digits, this particular giant salamander is in no position to chop off anything, trapped in a tank in the visitors' centre in Maniwa City, about 800km west of Tokyo. But impressive it certainly is: about 1.7m (5ft 6in) long, covered in a leathery skin that speaks of many decades passed, with a massive gnarled head covered in tubercles whose presumed sensitivity to motion probably helped it catch fish...

I'm straight because at the time of sexual imprint vulnerability society shepherded me into accepting a heterosexual role. Most people imprint straight for similar reasons. I believe it's the path of least resistance. Gay people probably have some genes to thank, but may also have a critical experience during puberty (height of sexual imprint vulnerability) that leads them in whatever direction.
- iTad
I think the sexual imprint idea is interesting but difficult to trace or prove. there are some whose *appear* to have been affected by incest or other traumatic experience (which is a whole 'nother ball of wax). outside of those obvious situations, how can an imprint be identified?

The category "men who like to have sex with men" is both more particular, and more broad, than anyone really knows. At least, that has been my experience of the world.
