Updated Acrobat Reader on my laptop - and it somehow managed to bugger up McAfee! wtf? So totally removed Acrobat - now using a nice freebie
Which Adobe Reader alternative are you using? - Sue - Friendfeed is best
I've gone with Foxit - 6.75Mb of PDF reader... http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloa... - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos from email

Freudian slip? - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos

Weird... every day for the last 5 days, at about this time, I start to get really cold and shivery.
I do that at times. Go through a week or so of getting cold, look at clock, it's within 15 minutes of the same time. - Sue - Friendfeed is best
I will be glad when this moves on... My cough is getting progressively more pronounced, day by day. I hope that goes soon too! - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos
Hi Suezanne and Tim/Al - since when are you all having discussions on Friendfeed? - Michael Slattery
Hi Michael... since just now. I have to confess, I rarely check FriendFeed - I should use it more often. But then, at work just about every social tool is closed to me anyway! - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos

When cooking pears, it is a good idea to check them from time to time... a lesson I need to learn. D'oh
This is true with things other than pears. - Sue - Friendfeed is best
True... but on this occasion it was most definitely pears. :-) - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos

That's odd... LA Times website has actually retracted "He's Dead" message - Now reads "Michael Jackson hospitalized, in coma"
Ah... looks like some strange cacheing issue... - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos

today is a very very clear demonstration of the battle between FAST and ACCURATE. twitter sure is fast, but near-impossible to rely on...
very true - anna sauce
Really? How so? - Hutch Carpenter
only "source" is TMZ, and no corroboration yet. but as far as the twitterverse is concerned, it's all done... - Jeremy Toeman
Well, at least in this case, Twitter, and FriendFeed, were fast and accurate. - Hutch Carpenter
LA Times, CNN reporting his death now - Hutch Carpenter
Hutch - CNN is reporting the LA Times story - seems a bit dicey - Stuart Miniman
A bit like Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle then... You have one, or t'other... but not both - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos
"city and law enforcement sources told the times" - no coroner's report = not a fact. still a rumor. - Jeremy Toeman
LA Times is generally pretty accurate. Not perfect, but if they're reporting his death, I'm convinced. - Hutch Carpenter
just bear in mind: there is NO incentive for them to be right. in other words, if he's NOT dead, nobody will remember that the LA Times claimed he was... their incentive, in fact, is to be outlandish and hope it ends up the way they claim... - Jeremy Toeman
Well, "nobody will remember" is too strong. People will definitely remember, lumping LAT in with TMZ. - Hutch Carpenter
AP reporting it (on NY Times site): http://nytimes.com/ - Hutch Carpenter

It'd be nice if I could persuade Twitter to actually update...
Twitter kind of died, I think, although its API still seems to be functional. - Ian Betteridge
Twitterfox has been resolutely refusing to play ball - at least on my machine - Tim Kelly / Al Kronos
