Rumors have been crisscrossing the Internet about actions by Apple that point tellingly to the advent of an Apple tablet, or some kind of outsize iPod touch. VentureBeat is speculating that Apple may use chips they have developed themselves in the imminent $800 tablet computer. Both the China Times and MacRumors have said that Apple plans to release the tablet for the holiday season, and that it has placed orders with a few companies for components of the tablet. If this web of gossip and hearsay that we're hearing through the grapevine is to be believed, there are more than a few breakthroughs to be had on Apple's end, and the longing for a tablet by some may finally (finally) be put to rest. - Praveen Vasudev from Bookmarklet
Yes, Christopher, because every time Apple does something, they do it with the sole thought in mind: to be the Yet Another Premier Showcase device for the vaporware Win7 allegedly superior, nay! superior-est! multi-touch functionality. Just as well I'll disappoint you now then, so you won't have to feel let down later: chances that any iTablet/Touch Grande will run iPhone (Cocoa Touch) OS are far greater than that it will run plain vanilla OSX, ergo capable of Win7 install. - ianf ⌘
Could you translate this multi-conditional sentence into a single (simplistic, if you can go so low) statement anyone could understand? - ianf ⌘
Your entire two-sentence response is illogical. First sentence is a rhetorical question on at least two levels (Win7 and its alleged multi-touch as were they real). Second sentence is conditional upon an unwarranted assumption [Apple caring for Win7 sales] and the subjunctive mood doesn't make it easier especially since it ends with another wishful-thinking assumption. If it feels better to call me confused, be my guest. But I didn't say what could be installed on this rumored (and thus, had Apple pre-announced it, equally vaporwarish) device, because I simply don't know. On the other hand –and I know that for sure– Apple couldn't care less for your pet vaporware OS. - ianf ⌘
For reasons that best be aired in a closed session with your therapist, your first and only association to this post was »how can it be used to promote the [make-believe] Win7« - if that is not a sign of pet-tery, compulsive pet behavior, then indeed I may not know what is. - ianf ⌘
@Harley (since you're both "Christophers" worshippers of make-believe "Christ"), you're confusing this with something else, funny though it may be. None of us has abused any of the standard replicqs™ in this matter. This is a two-man contest of wits. Mine is the lit.wit; his is you-be-the-judge-of-it-wit. [I'll concede the point on apparent already-existence of Win7 though, I haven't seen it, but then I haven't looked either]. [Amend 22 July 18:00 UTC - I take back my earlier concession re: Win7 not being vaporware - this says outright it STILL is: http://www.techcrunch.com/2009... But what the hell, just as long as it can promote sales of mythical "ITablet" in Carr's mind.] - ianf ⌘
?What? moon landing? Everybody knows it was all smoke and mirrors done on a backlot in Burbank, California. - ianf ⌘
The first? Mumbletalk (lay-alone version). - ianf ⌘
You got it all wrong, Christopher. I'm not the one being anal-y-zed here, you are. - ianf ⌘
Looks like another thread gets blessed with FF's resident uber iFanboi. It always appears to be the same one way convo thanks to block. It'll only get more insufferable Christopher. - Arawak from iPod
