This was taken while vacationing in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Jerry Seinfeld, the famous comedian, had made an offer to use this photo in a Broadway show that he was directing called "Long Story Short" featuring actor comedian Colin Quinn.

What an AMAZING Halloween!! 420 people Sunday night and 512 people on Halloween night braved the terrors of Haunted Fox Hollow!! We raised $500 for the Humane Society of Silicon Valley (http://hssv.org/) through the generous donations of those who visited our haunt. We can't wait to give it to them!!
Thank you to all of our amazing actors and volunteers!! You make this possible every year!!! This photo is of the line waiting to get into our yard haunt at 8pm Halloween night. It looked like this a good chunk of the time on Sunday and Monday nights. Just amazing!! #hauntedfoxhollow

Great job Kevin, Rachel, Cyrus, Athena, Bill, Fred, and all the other builders & actors!
- Stephen Mack
That's amazing. Congratulations and yay for raising money. I still wish we could have been there, but that line...*blinks* I wouldn't have lasted.
- Anika
Thank you Stephen, Anika and Shannon we are totally proud! Anika, we were so surprised about the line on the first night. We never have a line on the first night, Halloween sure, but not the day before. It was kind of incredible. We could have brought you a chair to use in line if you were waiting there. :)
- Rachel Lea Fox
Fox Family and Friends, thanks for putting this on. Had a fun time.
- Me
I'm glad it was so successful. All that hard work paid off!
- Anne Bouey
Shannon, if we didn't already have a gypsy fortune teller I would be pushing to take you up on that! CW, gah, wish I hadn't been running around like crazy, maybe I could have found you in the crowd! Glad you enjoyed it! What was your favorite part? Anne, It totally paid off! So glad you were able to help, we so love having you!
- Rachel Lea Fox
Rachel, you were busy with the crowds and getting the little ones up front so they could do the non-scary version. Each section was so great and detailed. Since I am a lighting dweeb, I can comment that it was lite very well. Not to dark, but not so much light that it it ruined effects. Might of lit up the step a bit more when going into the other backyard with the witch and the smoke...

Ahhh, yes organizing the line is usually the most nerve wracking part. I never know if someone is going to argue with me or make a big deal of something. I have had some strange arguments with people. And yes, that step was supposed to be lite more, but alas it slipped through the creaks so to speak. Thank you on the lighting, it is one of my favorite parts, lighting was always one of...

I just saw this pic in my "Best of Month" page and initially assumed it was from #OccupyOakland before I recognized our own Halloween haunt.

Thank you Anne!! I'm very pleased with our after Halloween packing this year. I'll be posting later about the awesome Pod packing we have been doing. It makes me so happy!!

Are you using the storage bags that you vacuum?
- Me
BTW The Pod worked very well for the Spider and sign
- Me
CW, I just pushed the air out of the bags, nothing fancy. And thanks! The pods are a great display canvas, which makes them less of an eye sore! I just wish the neighborhood preservation people weren't giving us a hard time about them. But they will be gone tomorrow!!

Haunted Fox Hollow's Spider Mistress! She is so creepy and imposing! And today is her birthday, so her's are the first photos I have finished and posted. If I were you, I would not attend her birthday party, once you enter her lair you may not escape!!
Last night at Haunted fox Hollow was AWESOME!! Our current guess is that 400 people went through (we can't find our counter so we are basing it on past experience) and we raised $251.50 for the Humane Society of Silicon Valley!! Also I'm REALLY proud of the haunt and all of my co-conspirators, actors and anyone who has helped out!!
The actors were great, appropriately scary and fun. The sets and staging were excellent, too. There's still 26 minutes left for this evening's performances if you're in the area!

A couple of good friends of mine make these beautiful pieces. The cameos are 16.25" x 7" and would look lovely on someones wall. The orginal mold was hand carved and then each piece is hand painted. - Halloween and More by NecroticCreations on Etsy - http://www.etsy.com/shop...
Awesome! he only had a minor role, but it is his first year so he is excited to work his way up to really scaring people! he is one of the 4 skeletons we corpsed this year! I particularly like the blind eye look I gave him! So glad you are coming CW!

What kind of health plan does Blinky have? Remind me to stay away from that one.
- Brian Johns
Blinky forgot to pay The Cobra! Sadly The Cobra is not very forgiving!

I just updated the To Do list for our Haunt. I just marked so many things as DONE!!! There is still tons to do, but I just love marking things as done!!!
Kevin is doing some awesome programming for it. In the normal state is fades between green and blue. And it has a danger mode too, which the gypsy can active if she wishes! It is going to be so awesome!!

Indiana also enjoys Halloween!! Photo 1: Indy hanging in a box with a vulture. Photo 2. Indy cuddled between the layers of a skirt from a costume. 3. Indy and the rolling rat! All of these are tonight!
NorCal folks, do you like haunted houses? This is a map and suggested tours of haunted yards/homes in the Bay Area and outside Sacramento. I know almost all of these people and they put tons of time and imagination into haunting their homes. I hope you find one you might enjoy checking out! http://calhauntsnorcal.com/hauntto...
Yvonne, I do an updated tour list ever year. This is the 3rd year I've done it and I hope it will last for many more years. Also it depends on what kind of scared they are. For those who are scared but not terrified I might suggest going to DC Cemetery in Mountain View (of course I always suggest going there). His haunt is not a walk through is is a very large street display. It is all...

I watched the segment he has on his website. My 3 year old is easily scared. =( He's still into the cutesy side of halloween instead of the scary side. Hopefully next year!

Sounds good Yvonne. You have to know what your kids will enjoy and not. I've seen many adults take kids through our haunted house who are clinging to them nearly in tears and I have to question if they should really be dragging the kid through, but it's not my decision. We have a light scares time where nothing jumps out and all actors are nice and calm just so that adults have a choice about when to take their kids through, but in the end it is there choice and they know their kids best.

The Boys are working on Halloween! I hear: Kevin:"I'm a little afraid to test the torque on that." Cyrus "hmmm..." and he grabs the motor as it's spinning. "Pretty good!"
Less than 2 weeks till Halloween! We have reached the stage in set up where we all pretty much LIVE in the haunted house. If you want to go between the two houses you pretty much have to navigate the twists and turns of the haunt. Pass through tunnels, push fake jute vines out of the way, pass through tents, wave hi to the skeletons and zombies!!!!
I prepped tiki torches by preforming trepanation on some skulls today. They are all ready to be wound up with vines (like the one in the front right side of the photo) this weekend. Halloween work is in full swing!!
Wow!! That is amazing! I'm super flattered! I thought you guys were doing some work for a small display this year? I assume you are coming up for something else as well? I'll get you a copy of the home haunt tour map I do up and I'll double check with the other haunters as to what level of kid friendly they are (some tend to only be for older kids where as some like us make sure there...

Nah, we started to, but then since we were going to move, it made no sense to continue and all our Halloween stuff is packed away anyway. So, a couple of weeks ago, we decided it would be much cooler to go up there to see the efforts of your labor. That's the only reason we'll be there. =) Thanks, for seeing what else would be good for the kids. I think they'll get a kick out of it.
- Anika
Love these! I can't wait to decorate my yard this weekend.
- Trish R
Thanks Trish! I have to post photos of them soon. We have 5 of the 8 of them done and they are looking rather creepy I think! :)
- Rachel Lea Fox
I'm clearly going to have to start trading beads for Halloween decorations :D
- Shannon - GlassMistress
I'm trying to think of a way to light my graveyard in my front yard this year without using too many spotlights. I wonder if these would work in luminary bags? http://www.amazon.com/Operate...
Do you turn them off every day or just let them run until they burn out?
- Trish R
They're leftovers from my brother's wedding. I know that if you leave them run, they work for about a week before they run out.
- Rochelle
I just read the description and it says around 100 hours so maybe I'll buy two sets for the two weeks before Halloween.
- Trish R
If you are thinking of using them to light individual gravestones I suggest that rather than luminary bags make a little light shell for them. Basically something quarter sphere shaped, have the inner layer be foil and the outer layer be black or green like your grass (you could use duct tape for the outer layer) then put the tealight inside. This will focus and reflect all the light from them onto the gravestone while hiding their existence from the viewers (at least mostly). :)
- Rachel Lea Fox
That's what I want to do. I have two spotlights in my yard but I'd rather have something by each gravestone to make it spookier looking and also be able to see each one in the dark. Thanks for the idea!
