Certainly not the case on FriendFeed. These folks are my FRIENDS. Friends don't take money to chat up some product to each other - certainly not without disclosing the fact first. I think anyone who tried would be quickly shunned and learn the lesson quickly. I'd never take money to shill something to my close friends.

That is one thing I am worried about with Comic Book Goodness, I sell comic books, and have a blast doing it, cause comics are fun, and try very hard to keep the sales bit out of it, difficult at times, but I try. Otherwise, my thoughts are my own, uncompensated.

Well, I am a community manager, and I do use social media to promote and support users of my client's sites, but I don't do it under my accounts. I have gotten nothing (excepting job offers) from my social media activities. There are plenty of us that just jabber at each other, too.
