This is clearly not my cat. If this was my cat he's have one arm shoved down into the printer trying to tear up all the internal whirling bits with his bare claws.
- Soup
Too Funny! Reminds me of the San Mateo Cat Shelter where one of the cats loves to sleep on top of the laster printer where the paper comes out...
- Greg Lato
1600+ to beat the FFundercats live chat thread. I think with this real time now on all threads we're going to see some truly epic comment numbers.
- Simon Wicks
Ivan, no the picture speaks for itself. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Petr, I have no idea what you mean, but thank you. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
@Kol .. :] that, partially, might have been the purpose.... I don't know it exactly either. :] .. was I reflecting on a cat under the fax, and that it is hard to fax that way ... /?:] ... "underfaxing at its worst" ..
- Petr Buben
there ya have me ! :] .... see, to be honest with you, i saw this pic couple days ago, but i let it go, without posting it ..... what does that make me? :]
- Petr Buben
even a flat cat... faxes just can't handle the hair. You'd have to shave the cat first, else the hair will burn and stick to the drum... a mess! (I am extrapolating from transparencies, mind, i don't have access to a cat to test)
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
Hehe, Joelle. This is now tied for the 'likes' top stop. One more then, hehe. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Hehe, Greg. Blimey! Erm, is that not far from 500 likes now? ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Bloody marvelous, Kol. Wish I could like it again... too cute (and help u to 500 likes).
- Roberto Bonini
I couldn't believe it when I logged on from the morning over posting it and saw it was at something 200 likes! You all have a strange fetish with cats and fax machines, hehe. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Am I the only one who saw this and their first thought was - My goodness did someone break that cats neck? It still freaks me out a little
- Steve C
Steve, it does look a little out of place, but cats are pretty bendy. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
They fax much better if you flatten them first. What?
- Kevin Pedraja
So we can put this post to rest now. :-) 505 likes final count, wow! :-D Good night all!
- Kol Tregaskes
My like is the last one so far :) - 509 afaik
- getalifejerk
did 3 people really un-like this? now at 506. wtf (edit: uh, oh, yeah, me and 2 + 506 others makes 509. dammit, jim, i'm an artist, not a mathematician)
- ɐ ɯıʞ sıɹɥɔ
One of the best funny cat pictures I've seen! :-)
- John Collis
Kristian, it appears to be. Hehe, John.
- Kol Tregaskes
- Maryaminaa
It's really only social convention which regards it as inappropriate, same with Xeroxing it, like one does with their b__tocks. Wait are we still talking about cats cats here or...
- sofarsoShawn
OMGosh 700+ likes now!! LOL. Thank you all 702 of you. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Some of us (me, @heykim, @thanatos_rises, @drslimpepper, etc.) are wondering if this is the real Danny DeVito. @heykim: "where is SHERIFF @Alyssa_Milano when i need her :)"
- Dennis Jernberg
@Danny_DeVito already has a faker: @Danny_DiVito (note variant vowel). @juliryan outed the fake.
- Dennis Jernberg
Would you buy a used car from Danny DeVito? No? But his nuts are ON FIRE.
- CannonGod
Danny Devito is only getting better with age. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of the funniest things on TV. The entire crew brings it.
- sean808080
It's interesting to see the actual data presented of what I actually find useful. That said, I like following a lot of people who are really low on this list.
- Robert Scoble
from Posterous
That's a good use of your 'favs' data, Robert. And interesting that you say that the number of favs does not always indicate how much you like following someone - so there's something more going on there?
- WorldofHiglet
WorldofHiglet: some people I just like to follow their lives and see the small things going on with them like birthdays, kids, etc, but those things would never get faved.
- Robert Scoble
That's what I meant, Robert. It's not all about value in terms of hard-core information. The 'social' side to social media is still important.
- WorldofHiglet
This is cool, I didn't know I'd been "favorited". I feel so honored. <blush>
- RobinDotNet
I wish there was a way to get someone's favorites natively in your Twitter stream (not RSS). With Favstar, you need to visit their site.
- Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Robert surely you can rectify this oversight.
- Joe
No doubt about TechCrunch. They are real twitter geeks.
- goldberg_sizzles
There are at least 2^10 people more geeky than me, so that means I can be no better than an 11th rank geek. Bummer, I thought I was a 9th rank geek, 10th at minimum.
- DGentry
How can I view what tweets were fav'd? I'm glad I made the list! :) The only problem with having so many favorite tweets though is now when I click the "more" button they won't load. :(
- Garin Kilpatrick
Wha??? this is weird. The only religious thing with bacon I know about is that orthodox jewish folks do not eat bacon (pork products). That's it... no biggee deal... these signs are weird!
- Susan Beebe
I thought for a second I remembered hearing, "The bacon of Christ" in a liturgy in Catholic school, but surely I remembered incorrectly.
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
Derrick, your religion thread reminded me of this LOL
- Mona Nomura
Mona, I swear, I didn't mean for that thread to venture off the way it did. I pondered something, asked it, and there you go. I'm thinking I'm skipping bacon and going straight to the smoked pork shoulder, though. Send cole slaw.
- Derrick
Have you ever received that stale bread they call The Body of Christ during mass? That is nowhere near as tasty as bacon.
- Joe Pierce
I have a friend who lived in Japan as a missionary. He once gave me some pointers on how to use one. I'm not looking forward to every having to put the advice to use.
- Joey Gibson
Some Asian countries only have one? That would make a very long line to the benjo!
- Josh Haley
OMG Josh. You should see the line... :P
- AJ Batac
A comment at Rodfather's link made me double over in laughter: "Just tried it and found both methods pale in comparisons to simply standing. From a standing position I can kick an Asian or westerner in the head with ease and run away before they are able to get back up."
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
And for the record, when I try the technique in Rodfathers' link, my butt touches the ground. I don' t think I like that.
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
Always remember that most Ninjas are Asians.
- AJ Batac
Yes, but not most Asians are Ninjas [edit: what the heck am I telling you that for? I'd think you'd know!]
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
That's the easy one. try using the indian style bathroom on indian railways wearing a sari and going 50 miles per hour. Did I say shocks are optional on these trains?
- InPerpetualMotion(Gina k)
It's actually better for your health to squat rather than sit - apparently the sitting position is linked to colon cancer, IBS and a whole host of intestinal complications. Also, sitting down to crap is a relatively new thing in the west too... and all the fault of us pesky Brits!
- alphaxion
Haha. If you think this is Bad try going to rural China. They only have a canal type of toilet where everyone squats in front of another person and does his or her stuff. Imagine you are the first person on the line. You will have lots of shit floating down wind! LMAO
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
@alphaxian - "apparently the sitting position is linked to colon cancer" - any chance of supplying a link to an actual medical source (i.e. not a website that includes any of 'nature', 'wellbeing', 'natural', 'earth', etc.) to back this - to my mind, at least - absolutely preposterous statement? Cancer linked to sitting? Come on! Next thing we'll hear is that suppressing yawns by keeping your mouth closed is responsible for the spread of the Hanta virus.
- Mark H
Mark, maybe not something as severe as colon cancer, but perhaps some more minor ailments such as constipation? If you think about it, it makes sense. Do our closest animal relatives, the apes, use little toilet seats to go?? Did human beings use anything like that until about the last few thousand years? And still that was only the wealthiest of the few people who did it that way.
- Kamilah Gill
Actually proper squatting is better than doing it on a chair type of toilet, because you let all you bawls out! So learn how to squat! I live in Japan and have to do it sometimes. You let it all out! LOL
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
but then, it could be just one of those "yes it has some effects" then takes you further onto the not so likely (baby steps away from reality). Still, medical tests have shown that squatting is more effective for excretion at the very least.
- alphaxion
So, in short, which way is it better to Shit? Sitting down or Squatting?
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
We can get rich of the Zero Gravity Toilet. Just build special rooms for the the consumers. Promote it as good for preventing colon cancer. With the economy in the shit hole that it is right now, what if not Shit will get us out of the shit hole! LMAO
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Ah yes, I'd actually prefer a squat toilet like this. Used one in Japan a few times. Kind of like camping.
- Mike Reynolds
So, after 1.5 hours of washing, chopping, and mincing, we have pico de gallo. Tomato, purple onion, poblano, jalapeno, bell pepper, fresh garlic, lime juice, sea salt, fresh ground pepper. Oh, and of course: CILANTRO =D This is the biggest bowl we own, about a foot in diameter. It was so full we had to mix it by hand.
I wish I liked cilantro. I'm a supertaster and to me it tastes like soap :(
- Gunny doesn't side-hug™
Take a bite of cilantro by itself and tell me it doesn't taste like soap.
- Dawn
Ha! Gunny beat me to it. You're so right, Gunny!
- Dawn
We made it tonight because it's better once it marries in the fridge for a while. I'm planning on setting aside a bunch and we'll have it with shrimp mixed in for dinner later this week.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
We couldn't resist: we ate about a cup of it right of the bat. Dave almost drooled into the big vat of pico... In hindsight, perhaps he should have, then we wouldn't have to share it!
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
If we ask nicely will Dave come say hello?
- DGentry
Cilantro is apparently one of those things you either love or hate. I don't find it tastes soapy, but it's definitely a peculiar herbal flavor. And Denton, I'll ask him =)
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
awesome! i need a chopping block just like that built into my counter.
- Carlos Ayala
Carlos, I really want butcher block counter tops (REALLY WANT). However, now I'm making do with this 2ft by 2ft rolling island with a butcher block top. Actual end grain wood, and the little hopper where you scrape the trimmings is amazing. We got it at Home Depot and they still carry something similar.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
That would have been good with the carne asada I grilled last night.
- Jeremy Brooks
What a good use of plant based material in your diet! (Looks yummy)
- susan mernit
When I get home tonight it'll be time to make guacamole. Mine is rather easy: smash up some avocados and stir in some pico de gallo. Done *drool* I'm not going to have room for the actual dinner we're cooking...
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
mmmm guacamole!!!! my wife makes some good guac...now I want some :)
- (jeff)isageek
Butcher block ain't cheap. And they take a lot of maintenance. Hello? Lazy?
- Josh Haley
Actually, it's not all that bad, Josh. I priced it out and I can get 2.5 inch thick butcher block counters for less than granite. Apply tung oil on a schedule to keep it clean and stain resistant. If it gets burned/scratched/stained you just sand it a bit, apply more tung oil, and you're good to go. But this particular island? Less than $200 at Home Depot and it has a drawer, 2 shelves, and a rack on the side. Worth every penny.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
O hai Dave! The Pico looks beautiful. So beautiful that I wouldn't want to eat it... for about a second. Awesome!
- Jim Hearts FF
Oh and HAI Dave!! *waves and steals the salsa!*
- Susan Beebe
Your pico de gallo looks awesome! I've never made this much at home.
- ha3rvey (needs soup)
That looks fantastically tasty! That's a lot of pico. We probably make fresh pico de gallo 3 - 5 times a week and we'd still never make that much of it. Will you guys eat all of it this week.
- Captain Bubbles
We made this for the cook out we had tonight. After sitting in the fridge overnight it decreased in volume by about a third, which is expected. The flavor is better too. Between the party and the guac I made, about a third of that is now gone. We're going to add cold shrimp to the rest and have that for dinner tomorrow: just a big bowl of it.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Mario, we'll just call this gringa salad then =) And like Sean said, you can use a food processor for the onion and cilantro, but the tomatoes turn into mush in my experience. We like ours very chunky (as evidenced by the picture), so the smooth texture from the food processor doesn't work.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
What does it taste like with the bell pepper in it? I've never had bell pepper in mine before.
- Captain Bubbles
I like adding them more for the crunch than for the flavor, actually. They hold up well to the lime juice and don't get mushy. A good flavorful bell pepper, though, adds a nice sweetness that offsets the tart and hot really well.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
We don't normally use garlic in our pico, I think I will try it next time, though.
- Michelle Martinez
Normally we just do garlic powder because I'm lazy. But after all that chopping, what's a few garlic cloves? And truth be told, I put garlic in everything that's not a dessert or breakfast item.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Tina, et. al. - Here's a good salsa recipe for you: Drain and blend a can of pineapple chunks with a couple of canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. Sweet, smoky and hot at the same time. Rocks with chips or on any kind of grilled chicken or fish.

@Ruud, I'm on a campaign to figure out what "semantic web" means. Can you help? Because some people say it has to do with markup (microformats, RDFa, etc.). Some people say it has to do with "understanding natural language." Some people say Google doesn't do it today. So, can you help me?
