I set a new record with my Prius this week. I drove 200 mi and consumed only a 1/4 tank of gas.
I am starting to resent my car - enough so I may actually give it up and go with Biking and Public Transportation to get me around (both of which are excellent here in Boulder, CO) - George Smith
Amazing, I can drive about 200 miles on 1/2 a tank. If only the Prius looked alot cooler, lol. - Aaron Myers
I drive one as well, but not getting that kind of hypermileage. Averaging 47mpg here. - Sean Alexander
@Sean I would be jumping up and down for 47mpg, I'm getting MAYBE 20mpg. - Aaron Myers
Is the prius hacked? - Jeremy Franklin
@Jeremy not hacked but it seems do better when it's hot and I do a lot of hwy driving. - Steve Rubel
showoff....LOL...yes I am just jealous. - R. Ferguson
This is the wrong metric. What Steve didn't tell you is that his Prius has an 80-gallon tank. :-) - Louis Gray
I set no records with my 350Z Roadster but enjoyed driving in to work today - James Joyner
@Louis - HA! I had a mental image of a Prius towing a small u-haul for its gas and battery. - Yolanda
Wrong Louis - you know how some cars are using cleaned food oil to power their cars? Steve is using FriendFeed for his - the more postings you make here, the faster the car goes - that's why he can't use it in the middle of the night! - Allen Stern
Friend says: "If he had a 1992-1995 Honda Civic VX, or a 2001 Honda Insight, he could have done even better in terms of mileage and emissions !!!" Think this is true? - Kathleen Mazzocco
Someday I'm going to get me a Prius. - Thomas Hawk
+1 for Allen's comment - Mitchell Tsai
I'd rather get a Smart or a MINI diesel-hybrid. Design is much better and they're more fun to drive. - Raoul Pop
That's fantastic! I'm renting a Prius to head up to Portland with from San Fran so that should help save us some major costs along the way - dbcohen
I'm driving my Vespa a lot more than my Prius. Now that's fuel efficiency. - Matt McGinnis
I told my wife I was thinking about a scooter, and she said, "Great! Then I can use it sometimes, too!" >sigh< I don't wanna share. - Ha3rvey (F please!)
if only the prius was made for tall people, I wonder if I'd fit in a Tesla - clarke thomas
That's not necessarily that big of an accomplishment. I can drive about 200 highway miles on a quarter tank with my '03 Hyundai Elantra. - Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins
I've had my Prius for 3 1/2 years. I've never had a tank average more than about 43 mpg and my average tank is more like 39-40 mpg. Any tips for improving? - Amy Worley
Also, I'd like to add that comparing miles per tank isn't a good comparison. The Prius has a smaller tank than most cars. When mine is blinking empty I'm lucky to get 9 gallons in there. Usually less. - Amy Worley
Okay, I'm breaking my FF radio silence to reply here - howdyoudothat? And why do our Priuses drive better on hwy? - Matt
So a 45 MPG Honda Civic would still have dirtier emissions than a Prius right? Also I have to say we frequently get 50 MPG with our Prius. Am waiting for a 90 MPG Prius. - Kathleen Mazzocco
Twitter is broken it unfollowed all my followers! Did same to many of my friends! Come to http://identi.ca/igorthetroll - Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
I like the bus, it gives me more time to play with gadgets :) - Sam Levine
Just imagine how far you'd have gotten in a BMW Diesel? http://www.technoride.com/2008... - Andrew Leyden
I'll have to tell my parents -- they have a Camry Hybrid and it'd be interesting to see if they can shoot for that. - mark zero (Jason)

I'm heading to Maui right after ComicCon. Can't wait, can't wait. I heard a local say "Hawaii is the land God loves the best" during one trip and it always stuck with me as being right on. - Steve Isaacs

Why Brands Need a New Kind of Leader - http://www.adweek.com/aw...
"Social-media experts are in high demand as companies attempt to figure out how to adapt how they talk to customers and even among themselves. Companies like Ford, Intel, Dell and Pepsi have concluded the best way to change is by bringing in a social-media czar to lead their strategy." - Brian Morrissey from Bookmarklet
I love that the article points out (by way of Peter Kim) that companies need to avoid creating yet another silo...the social media silo. Social media provides new tools, opportunities and even threats to the WHOLE business. Introducing a new way of thinking across the business will be more difficult than creating a new silo, but it's the right way to go. - Amy Worley

something's still wrong w/ travel planning on the web. kayak and tripadvisor are not the answers. Do i have the answers? No, certainly not.
I'm right there with you. Trying to plan a trip with several straightforward parameters, very lost with the online tools available. - Mark Trapp
What's the broken/hard part? Is it something to do with actually buying airline tickets, or with coordinating different aspects (air, hotel, car, entertainment/activity), or something else? - ⓞnor
nor, for me, the fact that you can only search by date, number of adults, rate range, and stars on nearly every site is really limiting. In order for me to find what hotels have internet access, I have to click on each listing and either visit the site or call the place up. Why can't I just search for specific amenities? I haven't found a site like these that lets me do it. - Mark Trapp
Hmm, but Hotels.com, Yahoo Travel, Orbitz, etc. all do in fact let you require certain amenities, and they all have Internet access in their list. Which ones were you looking at? - ⓞnor
I've tried Tripadvisor, Hotwire, Expedia, and Hotels.com: I don't see amenities search/filter at all on Hotels.com or Orbitz; do you mind a direct link? I did see it on Yahoo Travel, which helps a bit. - Mark Trapp
You have to do the initial search first, and then there's usually "more search options" or "advanced search" option. Hotels.com has a "Hotel Amenities" refinement right on the results page. - ⓞnor
www.tripit.com doesn't exaclty solve the problem that your having, but i've found it to be one of the slickest additions to trip planning i've come across- especially if your collaborating on the planning with others. - Chris Hollander
I'm glad to hear someone else say it. I was almost embarrassed to ask for travel agent references, thinking I should be able to do it on my own. When it comes to a full-on vacation, not just business travel, I'm finding that it would take me a week of full time work to get the info I need. - Amy Worley

It's kind of BS how people pick on Scoble so much, he works really hard and carves out the adoption path for many of us. When you look pass the 'noise' you'll see he's sorting out the crap from the rough nuggets.
I think he takes the crap people dish at him really well. Scobez is one of my heroes. That said, it's kind of funny some of the stuff that gets said about him. I think he opens himself to a lot of it on purpose. It keeps people talking about him. ;) - iTad
Amen! - James
EZ targets are well...so EZ! - Mark Forman
He's just so damn likable, and he doesn't "hit back" so he makes himself an easy target. I'd love to see anyone else try to do what he does, the man works hard (but prob needs to spend more time with family) - Jeremiah Owyang
He's one of my heroes as well. He must be pretty comfortable in his own skin. - Francine Hardaway from Alert Thingy
easy for you to defend scoble, jeremiah. he didn't kidnap your dog - @baratunde
Baratunde he did take my lol cat though. - Jeremiah Owyang
I think to a certain extent Scoble like others is, "say something nice is best, say something bad is ok, but just don't say,'nothing'" - Mark Forman
