I take it back. My life would only be 10% better if Facebook used Google Apps because tear-offs on email refuse to #$%$&@#$ work. Keith and MPD, get on it! :)

No, they almost never work for me on Firefox. I've emailed Keith and MPD to complain about it and they said they were on it. It was better for awhile, but it's totally fubar again now. I cannot believe that this is a bug I've been complaining about since we launched Gmail and it's still so problematic.

Ben: Look at a message, click "New window" on the right side of the screen; this opens a new browser window with that message. Also, while composing or replying, there's a "new window" button to the right of the bar with the send / save now / discard buttons, which "tears off" the message that you're currently sending (including everything you typed up to that point) into a new window.

Hrm, I use that all the time. Not sure if it's broken or not but it appears to work for me.

Tear-offs fail to open for me so frequently that I have given up on them.
