2.5M regular monthly visitors is not good?
- Mattb4rd
Based on historical situations, it could be a very bad sign that there is no growth this year yet. I know that they talked about the site being much bigger and have invested a lot of $.

Mahalo no Boobs! Needs Silicon implants! LMAO
- Igor The Troll
Can you imagine trying to pretend like your business is successful when it's not, and then going on to give advice to other people about how you do it? I think life is a series of ups and downs and if you are going to be outspoken, I think you need to admit it when its not going as good as hoped. I still could be wrong about Mahalo, its just that I havent seen any evidence on the contrary. Jason claims its going better than ever, but I havent seen the evidence.
- Andrew Baron
IMHO Mahalo is a lovely little interstitial inbetween me and useful stuff, the internet was meant o remove the middle man, its a shame mahalo isn't dropping, sorry Jason

@jasoncalacanis responds/avoids w/fallacies ignoratio elenchi, appeal to ridicule&spite, ad hominem, stawman, denying the correlative, more.
- Andrew Baron
Considering what I blog about I'm almost embarrassed to say I don't even know what Mahalo is all about. It hasn't grabbed my attention long enough to check it out.
- Jennifer Leggio
how accurate is Compete anyway guys? Who knows what funky noise is in the stats. I wouldn't rule out Mahalo yet -- it's a sound model for a lot of reasons Jason prolly doesn't want to talk about! It's a massive SEO play and a brilliant one I might add!
- Elliott Ng
Elliott, can you elaborate on why you think it's brilliant?
- Andrew Baron
hmmm.just noticed calacanis is lavishing us w/more praise. oy.
- Dave Winer
btw, i love that these graphs tweak calacanis. keep em coming. :-)
- Dave Winer
And the graph is not a personal attack, its about the internet and his way of dealing with it is to say that you and I are going to host an afterparty for his mutts. Im surprised that no one else thinks this info about Mahalo is newsworthy, but it also confirms my own feelings.
- Andrew Baron
That's what makes me think he's a Republican. :-)
- Dave Winer
Sean, that would be a good way for Calacanis to respond. CEOs don't generally respond to criticism (if that's what this graph is, it's just a graph after all) by saying people who aren't even associated with it (all I did was Like it in FF) party with his dogs (who I assume he loves, at least he's always saying how much he loves them). Anyway... That's how I see it. YMMV.
- Dave Winer
compete = enough said. that's like quoting alexa to me.
- Patricia
Well, if you look at Alexa, Compete and Google trends, they all show the same thing. What are some other ways that you like to use to determine? These kinds of sites are not always great - it depends in each case. For a site like Mahalo, I think its kinda telling because the margin of error becomes less visual on such a large scale.
- Andrew Baron
This must be one of those Maslow hierarchy of needs things again. Users like me just want the internet to work and don't understand why you self-actualizers get so torqued about someone's website that seems static at a "paltry" 2.5M monthly visitors. Frankly, it's a little like P-diddy complaining that he has to fly commercial because his private jet costs too much. /shrug
- Mattb4rd
Mattb4rd, maybe if Jason would speak up and do something to show that Mahalo is not a big FAIL, he could put this all to rest. Also, if Jason didn't have such a long history of ripping off other people's projects and then trying to destroy the characters of his competition, it might also help to lull the P-Diddy associations that you wot of.
- Andrew Baron
mostly because you have great links in google, but when you get there you have no information that can be used. Search Gawker, see what I mean.
- Dan Morrill AKA Techwag
@Andrew I'll take your word for all that. It's clearly important to you and some others. I'll just be over here ---> being a spectator. :)
