"@Szandor Did you mean "Yeah, that's why I went with a BMW instead of a Civic. Who wants all that economy car engineering crap when I can STEAL luxury car parts?" He is talking about pirating windows software. If you can't afford windows software there are viable opensource solutions. People like you are the reason I can't make a fair use argument in a DRM conversation without getting scoffed at." - Andrew Becherer

""quantum physicists, construction workers and teachers earn the same salary." That isn't already the case? I though the University President, CEO of Bechtel and the CEO of Edison Schools Inc. were making the real loot while the quantum physicists, construction workers and teachers were left with the scraps." - Andrew Becherer

Rumsfeld sold North Korea nuke tech for profit - http://digg.com/politic...
"My comment history will show me to be fairly liberal. Now that you know where I fall on the spectrum this article is crap. The U.S. - North Korea Agreed Framework was a good idea and I don't care if it was Rumsfeld who was selling the light water reactors (which South Korea was paying for). Trading the construction of two light water reactors for the dismantling of a graphite reactor makes sense no matter how you look at it. The following is an outline of the agreed framework taken from Wikipedia: * DPRK's graphite-moderated nuclear power plants, which could easily produce weapons grade plutonium, would be replaced with light water reactor (LWR) power plants by a target date of 2003. * Oil for heating and electricity production would be provided while DPRK's reactors were shut down, until completion of the first LWR power unit. * The two sides would move toward full normalization of political and economic relations. * The U.S. would provide formal assurances to the DPRK, against the..." - Andrew Becherer

North Korea defies the United States and tests 6 missiles: confirmed! - http://digg.com/world_n...
"@evilbob333 What you neglect to mention was that the two nuclear reactors promised to North Korea (and paid for by South Korea) were light water reactors given in return for the decommissioning of a graphite reactor. If you know anything about nuclear power and the production of nuclear weapons you should understand why we would want to decommission a graphite reactor in North Korea and that two light water reactors is a small price to pay." - Andrew Becherer

"I would like to say 2 things. You should always spell check your comments. You look like an idiot. Correct capitalization is always a plus. Would you care to provide a citation for your assertion? It seems reasonable but I think you are talking out of your ass." - Andrew Becherer

Che Guevara Was A Spoiled Rich Sociopath - http://digg.com/politic...
"I think "soundly rejected" is a bit of an overstatement. In a preliminary form the plan was approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff before being killed by either Robert McNamara or President Kennedy. Who ultimately killed the project is unknown at this time." - Andrew Becherer

Che Guevara Was A Spoiled Rich Sociopath - http://digg.com/politic...
"The problem with this submission and the article it points to is not the assertion that Che was a "Spoiled Rich Sociopath." This very well could be the case. The problem with this article is it is poorly written, poorly researched and generally immature. Come back when you find someone who isn't an idiot that can write intelligently about the dark side of social revolutions and the leaders of those movements. That said I have every intention of checking out "The Human Cost of Social Revolution" by Dr. Armando Lago. While Dr. Lago's position will no doubt be biased (he is a member of the Association for the Study of the Cuban Economy) I believe his examination of the topic will be a serious investigation as opposed to HarpoFly's childish rant. I will be digging this story down because it is lame." - Andrew Becherer

"@David76 You lack of knowledge makes me ashamed. To compare Allende to Pinochet is a crime. While Allende's policies on land reform, his default on foreign debt and many more policies may or may not have be the best route for a stable and productive Chile it pales in comparison to what Pinochet did. On orders from Pinochet somewhere near 3,000 Chileans were executed. He imprisoned as many as 27,000 individuals. This was a campaign of terror waged against leftist political adversaries. There is nothing during Allende's rule that even remotely resembles the "Caravan of Death." It is morally repugnant to compare Allende and Pinochet. You are, without a doubt, one of the most ignorant individuals participating in this thread." - Andrew Becherer
