Still absorbing information about this, but the one obvious comment is "Why, beyond arbitrary 'we work for the same company' reasons are they throwing away so much of the market by only supporting windows?" That doesn't tell me that they actually want to succeed, unless they really believe that Windows Server is headed for the kind of monopoly position that Client is.

Oh my gosh. I had thought GAE was just inflexible; turns out it's largely useless. Limitations on the size of your data structures? No way to effectively get more than a couple thousand items out of your database?

This LiMo thing sounds neat, but I won't call this "knocking android out of the ballpark" since this is the first I've heard of it. More evidence that android's not the only 'open' platform though.
