@rogersdc / Chris, Google Reader is obviously been trying to become more social, but I'd really like to see FF come out with a bookmarklet that makes sub'ing RSS feeds to FF easier/faster. Right now it's a manual process involving either a new Group/Room or Imaginary Friend. Should be 2 clicks tops.. Also see: http://friendfeed.com/alexsch... - Alex Schleber

Thanks everyone. - Kol Tregaskes
I've (we) written a lot of more good tips on how to use Google Reader in Google Reader comments. It's too bad we don't have permalinks in Greader so we can share our notes and comments. There are a few entries here you might like to read to help you. This one: http://ff.im/6CkQj explains about adding people to groups to allow them to comment and why some don't stay in groups. In this one: http://ff.im/6F9pQ I suggest a way to track a large number of shared items using PostRank. This: http://ff.im/6Ci0P and this: http://ff.im/6AM35 has a few tips on using GReader as a lifestreaming service. And this: http://ff.im/6EMT1 gives a few examples of GReader bundles. - Kol Tregaskes

http://www.google.com/reader... -- nothing shared yet; still learning several social networks & services, so it might take me a while... - Dennis Jernberg
Those of you above whom I already follow on FF/Twitter/etc., I've subscribed to your feeds. As for the rest of you: if you follow me on GReader, I'll follow you back. - Dennis Jernberg

It would be really handy to have all these shared feeds as an opml file. Has anyone added everyone? Care to export an opml of the shared feeds? - Paul Jacobson
Paul, can do that but it will be out of date the moment I post it as I'm getting more new users all the time. - Kol Tregaskes
Maybe someone could hook up something via Yahoo Pipes (or whatever) to automatically generate the OPML? - Tristan Seligmann
Damond, I'm getting that deja vu feeling. ;-) - Kol Tregaskes
Whoa, hey, I'm late to this. I'm here: http://www.google.com/reader... :-) - Jordan Hofker
I'm http://www.google.com/reader... Not really comfortable with the custom URL though since it can only be your gmail username. Makes it really easy for spamspiders I think. - TobiasVerhoog.com

MF/Kol = I live in Kingston on Thames. It's OK apart from the traffic (continually gridlocked) and the shops (girls just lurve them). Handy for getting into London both airports and out to the Thames Valley for work type things. Richmond Park and the river in walking distance is great too. - Andy C
phew.. - Paul Greer
Andy, Richmond Park and the others around there are the appeal really. Good place to go photographing and cycling while being very close to London I think. - Kol Tregaskes
Teddington (across the river from Kingston Upon Thames, is where I think I'd like to live. Just 'cos it's cheaper than everywhere else around it. :-) - Kol Tregaskes
@Kol many years ago, we made the mistake of asking an estate agent in Surbiton whether it was any cheaper than Kingston. She replied 'No - of course not. We are on the fast line to Waterloo' and looked at us as if we were dog excrement. - Andy C
I've checked rental prices in the area several times over the last 2 years and Teddington is definitely cheaper. I'm not buying, no way I can afford that. ;-) All a pip-dream anyway, need a steady job and I've not had that for a while. :-( - Kol Tregaskes
Thanks guys. - Kol Tregaskes

Hello! I'd like to extend a request to see if you've used Flickchart lately. If not, were you just not interested enough to continue using it? Not enough features? If you have used Flickchart lately, what's kept you coming back? Would you have any advice for us to draw you back to the site on a regular basis? Any comments or suggestions are most welcome. Thanks in advance! Appreciate it! - Nathan Chase
For me, I've visited it a few times in the past year (based on when people mention it or you mention there's an update). It's a fun distraction, but I'm not sure what would keep me visiting regularly. My favorite movies of all time don't change that often, and I'm not sure what I can do with that list once I have it other than point it out as an example of what Flickchart does (so, a... more... - Mark Trapp
Honestly, I haven't used it in a long time and it's for two reasons: I began to lose interest once the novelty wore off and I just haven't really had time. I think about it a lot and always think to myself, 'I should spend some time on Flickchart,' but then I see an inbox or feed reader with a ton of unread items, Audrey starts crawling all over me, etc. Plus, since I've been working again, I've not had time for much of anything like this. - Akiva Moskovitz
I pop on fairly often, I guess - a few times a week. But I feel like I spend a lot of time trying to get new adds in place (especially since they all come in right at the middle, which is not too bad if they should be higher, I just rank them a bunch of times, but if they should be lower it's a major pain since it's really hard to move things DOWN on the list), and that feels more like... more... - Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
I haven't, but then my love affair with movies has subsided greatly since I graduated film school. It's me, not you. ;) - Derrick
Yeah, I haven't used it in a while. I just haven't been watching as many movies as I used to... for lack of time. However, if I got a question a day from Flickchart in my email, asking me if A was better than B, I might click on it. That's an idea for you... - Ahsan Ali aka. Slick from email
I've been watching more than ever, but I forget to go rank them sometimes (also the ranking individual movies on the three-at-a-time page is less fun - didn't I hear that you were working on a new way to do that?). Ooh, fanciful idea based on Ahsan's comment - integrate with the Netflix RSS feeds or something so when you return a movie Flickchart automatically pops it up to rank. :) - Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
I'm never really at my computer when I use flickchart so I guess if I had any feedback (which I haven't thus far because the service has been great!) it would be to perhaps optimize the mobile site for android phones. For me it the site hangs a lot, and I can't actually access the charts on the top. But it's a small criticism as I can still choose what films I like with reckless abandon! :D - Jon, the Beartato of '10

@koltregaskes Blasphemy! :p Firefly the series was 100x better than Serenity, which basically succumbed to temptation to be an action film.
I saw Serenity before ever watching Firefly... but then went back and watched the whole series. - Herb Hernandez
Herb, yep I watched the movie before I even knew of the series. - Kol Tregaskes
Preach it. I just happened to find wallpaper at the WB website and now Firefly on my desktop. Then I saw this. - Mark Horne
In a way, the film is the last episode of the season. In this context the actioness of it feels balanced—well to me at least. - Andrew Roche
Andrew, yeah, but it left so much from the series unfinished, and it felt really different in tone. I know they had to figure out a way to attract people who didn't watch the series, but it didn't feel of a piece to me. River was not an action hero in the series - her power was much more mental and science-based than physical and action-based. - Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
It wasn't a western. I saw the preview to Serenity before watching Firefly and kept expecting River to kick ass. It was not helpful to enjoying the series. - Mark Horne
Mark, but you ended up liking the series better? I can see the attraction of having River be a kick-ass action star. I enjoyed it in the movie, but it basically meant River was a different character in the movie than she was in the series. If I had to choose, I'd choose series-River over movie-River. The subtlety of her character was much greater, and I found her far more intriguing. Anyone can learn to kick ass. Not everyone can kill people with their brains. - Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Sorry to be unclear. The TV series was way better than what I expected from the movie preview--which made me think it would be Buffy in Space. I wish I had seen the TV series without having any such expectations. The way she beat the final assassin was totally superior to superkickgirl style. - Mark Horne
