I know the game industry very well - you are a big fan of GDC - I collected a prize at the inaugural IGF for best visual arts for something that wasn't much more than a graphics demo and took more than another year to turn into a mediocre game. The problem? The game was mainly developed by programmers and graphics designers who had no idea of gameplay, and there wasn't the budget for testing, focus groups etc. At the time some of the best developers on the project weren't even interested in playing computer games, but they were great on moving pixels around in 3d, physics engines etc." - Andy Beard
