Bruce: the one on the web page is Flash. Can you download the video and try it from there? - Robert Scoble
I don't even see a video on the web page. I downloaded the mp4 and Ubuntu said it needed "bad" codecs for it. Then it played, but very slowly and without sound. - Bruce Lewis
Bruce: bummer. I wonder what kind of codecs it needs. We're doing pretty standard stuff and created these with FinalCutPro. - Robert Scoble

Steve Jobs speaks out - On managing through the economic downturn (15) - FORTUNE - http://money.cnn.com/galleri...
"We've had one of these before, when the dot-com bubble burst. What I told our company was that we were just going to invest our way through the downturn, that we weren't going to lay off people, that we'd taken a tremendous amount of effort to get them into Apple in the first place -- the last thing we were going to do is lay them off. And we were going to keep funding. In fact we were going to up our R&D budget so that we would be ahead of our competitors when the downturn was over. And that's exactly what we did. And it worked. And that's exactly what we'll do this time." - Leo Laporte
go steve! - Karim
I love/hate how Fortune takes a 100 word quote and stitches it together with 14 other short clips from March across 15 pages. Nice way to increase ad impressions. - Michael Leggett

Go slow and be rewarded with flat speed bumps - Autoblog
"These sleeping policemen actually flatten when the vehicle is traveling the speed limit, but stay upright when someone is speeding" - Simon from Bookmarklet
My dad came up with something like this years ago, but never did anything with it. I seem to recall his design used a fluid in the speed bump, rather than a mechanical system. Good idea either way -- 'twould be great to actually be rewarded for going a reasonable speed. - Joel Webber

Reminds me of an old sci-fi short I once read about a guy who didn't see, and who was sitting in an empty hall for all eternity... and who then went about to basically recreate a working universe in his head.
