"But why should people who have income from interest, dividends and rent pay less tax on these than people pay on their income from going to work everyday? Why should pensioners et al be compensated for the change, surely the goal is to make it revenue neutral and remove many low earners from the tax / NI system and not have to pay them benefits either, so can we then reduce the number of civil servants required to run the system. Remember all pensioners aren't equal, yes there are plenty who have low income by there are also plenty who have a pretty good income."
