For best Title Sequence. We're all very happy and a tad emotional. Well done us, and a big thanks to everyone who supported and helped along the way. “The judges felt this sequence was unique, bold, edgy and very striking. The animation was cleverly done, maintaining a real strength truly befitting the feel of the programme.”

"This year, I don’t care how many films the Academy nominates for best picture; the race for the animated-feature Oscar will be the one to watch. Coraline and Up were two of 2009’s best movies, period, and Monsters vs. Aliens and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs made for better-than-average fun, the sort of crowd-pleasing mainstream entertainments that Hollywood too often stubs its toes on. Now comes Fantastic Mr. Fox, adapted from the Roald Dahl book, which manages the rare (singular?) feat of being winsome, funny, and pleasantly suspenseful all at once. Directed and co-written by Wes Anderson—his first stab at animation—it perforce includes a father-son conflict, numerous carefully staged interior scenes that look as if they were shot in dolls’ houses (this time, they sort of were), and the vocal talents of Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson, and Bill Murray (as a badger)."

"There are paintings, sketches, figurines, sculptures, photography, video, storyboards, and props from his movies. MoMA did an excellent job of encompassing all aspects of his work. The exhibit is a showcase of his work from childhood to the present."

"Akin to his historical counterpart, Nobunaga fancies Noh theater, spits in the eye of old traditions, and is seen as a dangerous man by his enemies. Like most fictional accounts, he's cold and indifferent to the suffering of innocent people and of others' opinion of his methods. He enjoys the prospect of facing death and generally remains unfazed when the tides turn against him. In the second game, Nobunaga also adopts a devil's advocate motif, often asking others their desires and a way for him to grant them. He boldly declares that he is predestined to rule the land as it's the heavens and land's desire."

That's not a lame claim to fame. I've invested many hours in VO classes and I haven't landed a job like that yet.

if you youtube it, you'll see why it's lame... my director made a few choices that were... questionable e.g. giving some samurai warriors "surfer dude" voices. (the original Japanese actors were superb)
- T. Brent, technopeasant
Ah. Well, that's the director's fault. The actor's job is to do what the director/client wants (and sometimes that's unfortunate..)

still, it was a fun time in the studio. one critic described my work as: "suitably evil" lol another accused the lot of us of being "cheap SoCal talent" when, in fact, we were cheap MONTREAL talent...

I'll have to youtube it. didn't know you were a quebec'r I enjoyed the summers I spent there as a kid. I always thought I would live there or PEI but that was because I loved the camping and being awakened by a knock on our tent one morning by a local carrying lots of wonderful pastries to sell. Delicious!

Yep. sure was. I wish I had been able to take the last train across the entire breadth of Canada...but alas no. I did lose a purse in one of the waterways: there important stuff in it: my Girl Scout membership card. ;)

lol When I was with a bagpipe band touring Scotland, we were put up in a church that had been converted to a Girl Guide camping thingy. Fun to have a bunch of (ahem) virile Highlanders in bunk beds with flowers, butterflies and bunnies on 'em. *makes pirate sounds*

roflol Very cool. The last time I got to hear a piper was at our wedding. I marched down the aisle to "Highland Cathedral". Like a true Scot hero he was dressed in his kilt outside the chapel (too acoustically small for the pipes- we also had an small pipe organ inside) and manfully played through 90+ heat. The chapel was gorgeous!

from demonically possessed samurai warriors, to girl guides, to chapels... ohmy...

If there is a disparate connection to be found: I'm your girl-friday! lol

If you have ever read Garrison Keillor he is the king of digression. Wonderful stuff and always gets you back on track...but the ride is a wonder and worth it
