The Add to Calendar feature (behind the + in event listings) now includes Add to Facebook. This is so individuals can pluck events of interest off the calendar and socialize them with friends.

Friendfeed: I guess so. It has interesting/useful properties though: http://blog.jonudell.net/2009.... Of course it's an orphan now. If you started fresh today what would you use? github for technoids, of course, but the idea here is that most of the chatter will be among curators who aren't technoids. - Jon Udell

Thanks for sharing the link. You make a decent argument for FriendFeed there :) If I were to start fresh, maybe I would use Google+, even though it lacks the aggregation features in FriendFeed. That would mean you would have to manually post anything related to the project there. But, maybe it will provide more exposure to elmcity, and more people might be willing to sign up and... more... - Ankit Ahuja

"not sure how many people use Google+ though" In my experience it is, so far, a geek ghetto. I used to jump into every new one of those that came along. Now I wait to see if they gain traction with my civilian friends and family. So far G+ doesn't seem to have. - Jon Udell

I guess the killer thing for me here is the inbound syndication. I like that it reinforces the pub/sub principle that I'm trying to use the elmcity project to teach people more broadly. - Jon Udell
