Why doesnt Google Image Search have a slideshow mode?

I believe they are not legally allowed to show entire images from other websites. Showing thumbnails is as far as they can go. - Nikhil Dandekar

If you use a Mac, Fluid has a nice little slideshow plugin that works for sites like GIS. http://fluidapp.com is the site, http://www.viddler.com/explore... is the video demo. - Mark Trapp

I think it's not the legal issue because there are quite many image search engines that provide slide show (or similar) functionality. - Daniel Schildt

@Daniel. Which ones? They might be too small for site owners to go after, so might be getting away with it. None of the 4 major search engines: Google, Live, Yahoo, Ask have image slideshows for this reason. - Nikhil Dandekar
