An arc is an infinite aggregation of tangents, no? Maybe today I just feel my through. Hard for me. Intention is a large part of my identity.

thanks for posting. so, are we not supposed to say that it was likely government-backed? how is the Twitter team handling being treated like a natural resource to be exploited/trammeled by warring parties?

OMG!!! I am frantically looking for a Sara Wright!!! Does ANYONE know which group she was in? At this point, the following folks are getting zeros on the write up because I cannot find them, but I am willing to give them full points for the parade if someone can tell me to which group they belong, assuming anyone is still listening:
I dont know the name of the group, but Jorge Hernandez was in the group whose theme centered on immigration. I'm pretty sure of this because he was following our blog.
- Clarissa Morales
Thanks, Clarissa! I just found the other two.
- Anna B. Scott
sara was on the group of the budget crises and denise as well.
- Jazmin Alba
Yes, am just making sure that I 1) read every word of each entry from anyone who sent me the url on time; 2)read again midterm entries to make sure there was change over time (and actually comment as I just skimmed a few before); 3)read late submissions; 4) locate missing urls from people that had high scores in discussion; 5)account for anything else; 6) add extra credit to those who earned it for midterm blog. I am TIRED! And a tad confused since many did not use their full names.
- Anna B. Scott
Talk about your theme and how it was or was not successfully interrogated by your performance. Make sure to discuss all elements (choreography, music, signs, gestures, chants, costumes, props) Avoid tattletaling on your team members. Most importantly, what did you learn about yourself in this process?
if you were to continue with the piece, what would you add or subtract?
- Anna B. Scott
please post in your group blog as a new entry AND send me & Ryan a message from iLearn with the url (http address) of your new entry, its title, your full name. Failure to do this step may result in your work not being read.
- Anna B. Scott
is there a way we will know if the URL didn't go through?

I bought a very high end Canon HD video camera with 40GB hard drive. I wasn't familiar with Flip before I bought it, I still regret it. Flip is just so easy to carry around with you.
- James Poling
Flip Ultra HD costs $199..slightly bulkier than the mino but not bad at all...I love mine
- Gary Gannon
Gary, what format does Flip use to encode?
- James Poling
I have the Flip MinoHD and it is awesome. The only problem is there is no image stabilizer, but still awesome
- Shawn Hickman
Thanks Shawn, I hadn't even thought about that. I wonder if the Flip Ultra has a stabilizer?
- James Poling
Our Flip Mino HD is the sexiest gizmo we have going on right now...
- Julie Gibbons
James: The fact that I can carry in my pocket anywhere I go is the best feature. I can go without the stabilizer, just use a mini-tripod to hold it. I don't think any of the Flips have stabilizers, but I could be wrong. I'm sure your Canon is amazing though.
- Shawn Hickman
i just got the flip mino and LOVE it. I think it actually gives a very stable image, so not sure what folks are doing with it. i just hold my arm out at arm length, point an dmy face and record. looks like some one else shot it. i do miss pulling focus though. the flip is pretty fantastic for the size, the ease of use, the image quality, and the price.
- Anna B. Scott
Sean: Yeah, it's a great video camera but the truth is I take way more video with my Canon point and shoot which isn't HD simply because it's way more portable/easier to break out. Plus my Canon Video camera records in M2TS format and I have yet to find a way to easily convert that to a format that works easily with any of my video sharing sites.

Timeline of Brazilian Presidents This is a timeline of Brazilian presidents starting from Vargas’ first term until Kubitschek’s term. I found videos that either correlated with the president’s name or the era in which they were president of a Brazil. Getúlio Vargas http://www.youtube.com/watch... José Linhares...
first video of the libretto was choice. i cannot understand operatic Portuguese! Too bad. Not sure why there is the beach video. Pixiguinha singing " hey boss, i stole your cattle" is hilarious. would like the names of the presidents plugged in, however.

Rio 40 Graus, classic! I can't believe it's on YouTube. How wonderful for us. This film is a cinéma vérité, so it is almost a documentary of life in Rio. Great find! 1955, but still, I want prez name!

very funny class project on Dutra. he carried a pivotal moment, non?
- Anna B. Scott
wow. the final clip is simply too much. great sleuthing. the song that is playing out in the street was South American Way by Carmen Miranda.
- Anna B. Scott
omigawd! this is insane choreography. but the idea that they were still doing this wacky Carmen Miranda stuff in the 1960s is crazy. Notice how she is going throuh all of the cultures that comprise the ethnic reality of the country, well all most all. No Chinese, no Lebanese...Which president? oops! there's the Chinese ribbon dance. not liking the bones in the hair...Here the espanois
- Anna B. Scott
my initial reaction is: no, but you can look for stuff together. post separately . if you have no computer, then you make a note of that.
- Anna B. Scott
this song is great, the beata is tight!!!
- Cassandra
way too weird and explicit, haha. sounds kinda like the Brazilian Phantom Planet.
- dgarc023
a lot of symbolism, i wonder if it has a doublle meaning.
- Carol Aguilar
what political statement are they trying to say? why do they have all these symbols?
- daisy
political statement: nothing is sacred as long as all people and every history is not valued in Brasil. muito simples, pois very radical. add to that: one official history is just as false as the next if the love of the people for each other is not cultivated.

Michel de Certeau focuses on "The Practice of Everyday Life", and that everyday practice is the "investigation of ways in which users operate" or the ways of doing things. http://www.eng.fju.edu.tw/Literar...
#CHFY is this what Topoi means-Topoi's main assumption is that philosophy is a lively, provocative, delightful activity, which constantly challenges our received views, relentlessly questions our inherited habits, painstakingly elaborates on how things could be different,
topos, a traditional theme, usually in literature. this term is taken up in critical geography to describe the way that people create place and understand it across time through stories/memories. i think this was a journal you mentioned?

Chico Buarque was perhaps the most outright in his politics through his lyrics. In fact, when I was learning Protuguese, the teacehr made us learn his songs because of their ingenuity, clarity, and poltical analysis http://www.youtube.com/watch... Note how they look "respectable."
the lyrics are searing for this one and posted on the page of the video. excuse the typos! the gist of it is a play on the meanings of roda, which means, circle, wheel, turn, schedule (esp. repetitive), spin. The title translates a "Living Wheel." The other play is viola, an instrument, violation, a flower. He was a master poet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch... here is a clip from an actual music competition with Caetano Veloso singing for a large prize. Notice how the audience is singing along. Also notice the electrified instruments; at the time this was a scandal!
