- Lost Abyss
ısınamadığını duyuyorum.. bunu bende hissediyorum... oysa sen çok sıcaksındır... kendine acı... ayağa kalk artık... sana haykırmayacağım... fısıltıyla duyacaksın sesimi... ben buradayım.. bendeki her zaman ki acı.....
- Lost Abyss

I saw The Temper Trap twice at CMJ last week, and they put on an incredible show. If you haven't heard of them yet, YOU NEED TO! They had their song "Sweet Disposition" on the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack. They're album has been released for a few weeks, so if you're a big fan of atmospheric indie rock, check it out:...
It’s the “social” theories of music-liking that get most of the attention these days: systems that connect you with friends with similar tastes, or that rely on “collaborative filtering” strategies that cross-match your music-consumption habits with those of like-minded strangers. These popular approaches marginalize traditional gatekeepers; instead of trusting the talent scout, the radio programmer or the music critic, you trust your friends (actual or virtual), or maybe just “the crowd.” Pandora’s approach more or less ignores the crowd. It is indifferent to the possibility that any given piece of music in its system might become a hit. The idea is to figure out what you like, not what a market might like. More interesting, the idea is that the taste of your cool friends, your peers, the traditional music critics, big-label talent scouts and the latest influential music blog are all equally irrelevant. That’s all cultural information, not musical information.

this is a hard one. the sample is short and muggs manipulates it in such a way that its not easily recognizable...but its one of the more memorable cypress hill joints.
- Carlos Ayala
i should rephrase something....the sample taken is short....the usage of it is long, constant, piercing and pervasive
- Carlos Ayala
Don't know this song, oddly enough. *listening*
- Adrian
the sample comes in at the very end. this is more of a tribute (if thats the correct way to describe what muggs did) to Black Sabbath than anything else i am guessing...because the sound he used could have been synthesized.
- Carlos Ayala
Come to think of it, I don't own any Sabbath that ddn't have Ozzy on it. What year is this one?
- Adrian
oh yeah, with Ozzy. 1970. listen carefully at 4:27 and play it back a few times....
- Carlos Ayala
Oh crap what's wrong with me of course that's Ozzy. And why don't I own this record? Wait I hear it! I Ain't Going Out Like That!!
- Adrian
I still can't believe De La got away with it. I guess the Beastie Boys sampled them back then, but basically it seems that Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Doors were not sampled much. Anyone know why?
- Adrian
yeah, clearing samples is one huge reason.
- Carlos Ayala
thats what makes guys like Premier, Pete Rock and Prince Paul so freaking special. they were so crafty in their production.
