If your FriendFeed to Twitter publishing isn't working, go to http://friendfeed.com/setting... and login again. Twitter disabled HTTP Basic Auth, so we can only publish your entries if you've gone through the new OAuth routine.
The real problem is Twitter to Friendfeed not Friendfeed to Twitter. Friendfeed doesn't import my Twitter entries. Friendfeed to Twitter now is working, thanks.
- catepol
Please fix Twitter to Friendfeed (with private Twitter account like mine Friendfeed doesn't work since Twitter decided to change OAuth settings)
- catepol
No problems with FriendFeed to Twitter. Real problem is Twitter to FriendFeed. Trying to create a new Twitter service (or to refresh the old one) on FriendFeed, it says me the Twitter account was not found.
- Maxime
I can't add my Twitter again, either. I get the same message as Ciaoenrico.
- Michelle M
Thanks a lot, Paul! They did this in the middle of my microblogging the Human Microbiome Research Conference last week, but hopefully this will fix it in time for the Lake Arrowhead MIcrobial Genomics meeting.
- Ruchira S. Datta
Yup---FF to Twitter is fine but T to FF it says my open account doesn't exist.
- Hedgehog
Thanks much, Paul. Friendfeed is still too great a product to let fall into disarray. The world will catch on eventually, I hope.
- Sean McBride
Yep, I can't get Twitter to import to FF, either. I tried opening my Twitter to do it, but that didn't seem to matter, so I re-protected.
- Lix
Yep, same problem for me as everyone else. FF publishes to Twitter fine, but won't import Twitter. Now FF can't even find my Twitter account, says it's not found.
- Jandy
FF publishes to Twitter. Ok. FF doesn't import Twitter. I've removed my Twitter account on FF. I want to add it again and now FF can't even find my Twitter account, says it's not found. (yes I have a private account on Twitter).
- catepol
Exactly the same as catepol. FF now says that my Twitter account does not exist...
- LaZiaElena
we all want to import our twitter posts into friendfeed as before
- catepol
same here: FF can't recognize my twitter account. It was made to share my kindle clippings, and I want to forward that feed here. Please fix it - we all love FriendFeed and want it fully working :)
- PaperDoll
publishing to Twitter stopped working again, i've signed in and out at the publishing preferences page several times and checked my publishing preferences. :(
- Ruchira S. Datta
I try to add my legitimate #Twitter account to Friendfeed but keep getting the message "We could not find the given account" every single time. Why is it so?
- Maqbool Bhat
Twitter to FriendFeed doesn't work, and I guess this is a tactical decision so that people would use FF to post on Twitter, but to be honest, I will give up FF if that's the case!! and simply stick to Twitter..
- HDG Ticaret
Same here I can't FriendFeed to find my twitter account... rather annoying
- Bren @ Headlines-Today
late to the party on this one but i am no longer found when trying to add my twitter
- Angela P.
What everyone else said. Need to go FROM Twitter TO Friendfeed.
- Derrick
+1. Getting the "We could not find the given account" error when trying to connect and import my Twitter posts into the FriendFeed.
- Южное Тушино, мкр 11
same problem as above - "We could not find the given account" - any idea what's wrong or more importantly, when it'll be fixed?
- dorwardmedia
same problem here Twitter to Friendfeed don't work
- Ozan Zırhlı
I have the same problem too - was told it couldn't find my twitter account. So when will Twitter to Friendfeed finally work for us? We seriously want Friendfeed to become more relevant in our social networking lives!
- Jenny Teo
I also cannot get my private twitter account to publish to friendfeed. Please fix
- librarianhope
I'm having the same problem: when this first cropped up, I removed my Twitter, tried to re-add it after signing in using OAUTH, but now it says "The given account is not found..." How do I fix this?!
- Meredith Sweet
I did that x3, & still no FF to Twitter posts happened. FF to FB publishing has quit for me, too. So I have discontinued using FF to post anywhere for now & will give a new try another day down the road. (So the help tickets I submitted are irrelevant now.)
- ShamanicShift
Also: I, too, have seen the error message that FF cannot find my Twitter account when I attempt to refresh -- and when I removed it to re-add it (as something else to try), it took MANY attempts (before my Twitter was back on the list of services),
- ShamanicShift
Same problem (my twitter account isn't even private). Stopped tweets importing 3 days ago.
- Ashalynd
same issue as above "We could not find the given account"
- Mardetanha

I'm authorizing app, and getting redirect back, but have no posting to twitter again. It's always "To post to Twitter, you need to sign in first."

Also often getting "Service Unavailable" from FF.
- Ivan Larionov
Now come on, why would you do something like that? I occasionally throw a tie around my neck, just because I like the feel, when I'm at home, sometimes I don't even have collar for it.
- Jimminy, CoG of FF
Tux t-shirt would be acceptable...not a tie. No, not even a bow tie...and definitely not an 8-bit tie...and Jimminy, this is 2010 and I think that businesses should be run for 2010 and not a bygone era that used superfluous clothing accessories.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Ok, but some people like wearing ties, would you fire a women for wearing hoop earings, or lugging around a huge purse?
- Jimminy, CoG of FF
No, but I would fire a woman for wearing a tie, even if they only wore a tie. Is this thing on?
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
What if I sewed a bunch together and made a skirt from them and wore that? You would fire these women if they worked for you and came to work in their ties? http://sewingwithneckties.blogspot.com/2009...
- April
I love bowties. But you don't run a library, so I think I'm good.
- Derrick
My ideal employer :) I don't even own a tie and one of the criteria I use when changing jobs is to find one which doesn't require a tie.
- M F
"If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck?" ~Linda Ellerbee
- Jemm
Jemm, that way you're always prepared, for when the financial market collapses, the datastore gets corrupted, or you have an oil well rupture. ;P
- Jimminy, CoG of FF
This makes perfect sense to me. If an employer can discriminate against people who don't wear neckties, why can't another employer discriminate against people who do? Silly traditions make people think the former dress code is more valid than the latter. It's really how a person does a job that should matter.
- MiniMage, enterRUPPted
You want to show your mad nerd props with a spinning tie, do it in another place of employment!

Surely a necktie worn as a headband doesn't count.

My favorite fragrance is a natural one which I have never found it in any human made. I wish I could find it. Also I love to find one which I used to wear when I was a kid, unfortunately I forgot the name and I have never been able to remember it since last time I saw it.
- ۳۰ مرغ Loves Y'ALLLLL
I always go to Body Time and have them mix me one up out of essences.
- Ruchira S. Datta
Natural soap and water. If its chemically extracted oils nada. only natural extracted and those are too expensive for me. The last knock offs I checked had enough butane in them you could use as a blow torch fuel
- Melanie Reed
Love those scents pictured above on men - provided they use self-control in applying them. Fragrances I love: Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Jo Malone; L'Imperatrice, D&G; Ed Hardy for Women (original scent); Eau de Givenchy (had this years ago and it was recently re-released; I'm seriously longing to buy a bottle); Carnival Crush, Stacked Scents; Between the Sheets, Demeter; I Love Love, Moschino; Malachite, Banana Republic.
- Corinne L
Honestly when I buy cologne I just go to Macy's and ask the lady behind the counter which new scent she likes to smell on a guy. She usually comes back with 3 options, 2 of which are usually good. Caveat: when it's a gay dude at the counter :S LOL

The two I have in my bathroom are Nautica and Candies for Men. I used to have Aspen back in my broke college days. Of the three Candies is my favorite.

eternity for men was my fave scent for a guy til my grandpa started wearing it. I do love hugo on guys yumm
- Angela P.
I love Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab scents and a Moss & Ivy scent that I got on Etsy (it makes me feel like I'm in the forest). I love things with jasmine oil. Nothing synthetic, just extracts. I often don't wear anything, though.
- joey
i personally wear all kinds of stuff. I have perfume oils from the body shop and body splashes from bath and body works as well as other perfumes. i probably have enough to go over a month without repeating

My mom used to wear Tigress. I still remember the nights she and dad would go out to a party or some function (Naval officer -- lots of those!). I remember the swish of her pantyhose and the scent of Tigress. And her goodbye kiss after the babysitter was settled in. Just the barest hint of Tigress, and the memory floods over me. Amazing how scent can do that.

In the evening: Gucci Homme or Michael by Michael Kors. In the daytime: Gucci II Homme.

I find it hard to like anything better than good old Eau Sauvage. It may be old school but it's all the better for it.

UPDATE: At 10:40AM ET on Friday, Sarah Palin made her first comment on the oil spill, posting the following on Twitter: "Having worked/lived thru Exxon oil spill,my family&I understand Gulf residents' fears. Our prayers r w/u.All industry efforts must b employed" @SarahPalinUSA http://twitter.com/SarahPa...

chaz': as someone from the Gulf Coast, it's working pretty well, actually. We depend on oil drilling for our economy as much as KY and WV depend on "evil" coal mining.

Yeah, it's interesting how they switched the two Jakes up.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
of course we know what happens with Phil but I love how the two jakes have switched boats. it'll make for an interesting season. of course every time I see Phil on screen it makes me sad. He was my fave captain

Sig is our fav captain and he doesn't look well either.

I think Jake Harris is going to do something to piss him off next week.

Obviously you've never seen 3D porn. Also, Ken is correct, it is sound that ruined movies - as evidence I submit City Lights.
- Lo the Baker
Films shot for 3D, ok. But films forced to 3D obviously for gimmicky reasons is not cool. ie: Alice.
- Mona Nomura
from iPhone
Wizard of Oz was shot for Black and White - is the B&W version better?
- Jesse Stay
Cristo, I agree - I just like giving Mona a hard time :-)
- Jesse Stay
3D is still new in movies and thus used mostly for wrong reasons. The same thing happened with surround sound and CGI, but these days they are used more transparently.
- Jemm
I like watching IMAX docus but to use IMAX 3D or CGI as a gimmick when theres no there there.. not so much
- WarLord
As I cannot see very well out of one eye I'll never be able to experience 3D movies, etc. :-(
- Kol Tregaskes
Still pictures rule. Making them move ruined everything.
- Todd Hoff
...I still think filmmakers are learning how to use 3D to improve their productions, and that's the value of guys like Cameron and Burton leading way: becaue they get so much exposure, they'll open the eyes and minds of some unknown director we don't know yet, who'll really master the technique.
- .LAG liked that
For one thing, there are some people whose eyes (and/or brains) can't process 3D movies.
- Ladyepiphanybug
No. Alice in 3D sucked. I walked out.
- Mona Nomura
I liked it in Coraline. It was very subtle and well done there, I think. Liked it less in Alice. Kept flinching from crap coming at me.
- Lix
well now that it seems that EVERY movie "has" to have 3D I do agree with ya.
- Angela P.
@jhuebel I have to agree with ya. I saw the final destination in 3d and it was really cool, but now because of avatar EVERYTHING NEEDS to be in 3d?? c'mon. they are now converting so many movies that were not meant to be in 3d to 3d because of that.
- Angela P.
hey, look, advice about how to deal with my first complaint on ff was waiting all day (from 6am) in my email box; if only i hadn't taking advantage of the last of the local warm weather and completed the great gumball gathering, ;(

Woah, I think I know that girl. That looks amazingly like an old friend of mine, Lara. And it's the kind of face she'd make.
- Akiva
I believe it's good manners to credit where one saw something if one saw it via another FFer.
- Spidra Webster
Not quite sure what the big deal is about sharing. I thought those were synonymous any more as long as you link out to their page and don't cut-and-paste people's stuff and use it as your own.
- rowlikeagirl
Spidra, she didn't share it on her FF. She's the photographer and apparently didn't like it being linked, even if the link goes directly back to her page on Flickr.
- holly #ravingfangirl
Yeah, I know you linked to her page. When I saw that she had an FF acct I assumed you'd seen it on your feed and then linked. If it's just some person on the Internet, linking to their Flickr account should be clear enough, I guess. It's not like you were using it as illustration to an article or something (my Flickr photos get yoinked like that occasionally. Even if they link, I'm pissed if they didn't ask permission or credit me before doing it.)
- Spidra Webster
chaz2b, the photographer dedicated 100% of her comments on FF to your post, so that's an interesting stat.
- Micah
ok, cat on the table. i didnt find the post via flickr, someone on twitter posted it; the title intrigued me, it was 7am in the morning, and i was just thinking how nice to wake up looking at fresh cakes. I backed tracked the link to the original source, and posted it, knowing that my post would link back to original. I also didn't tweet it. Afterwards, i've gone back and checked and saw no provisions marking it as private property ("Anyone can see this photo").
- chaz2b
and, i believe manners are covered when the link goes to the original, :(
- chaz2b
also, i've been thinking about this, she didnt give no credit to the book in the pic, and that's a copyright violation
- chaz2b
Hmm. In normal cases the post link to the OP seems credit enough. Well, we're only at Defcon I or II here - Johnny won't even need to open up MS Paint. Yet :)
- Micah
I'm confused how this picture of my friend Lara got to be attached to the post.
- Rochelle
veo, way not to pay attention to the comments left by Rochelle and I.
- Akiva
akiva, you made comments in this thread, :o i hadnt noticed till now, thanks for bringing that to my attention
- chaz2b
wow, in just 2hrs this has become my 2nd best post of the month. I would like to thank everyone involved with making this happen, i dont think i've ever had such a popular post that soared so quickly before; i'm humbled, and sorry to have posted a pic without (debatable) proper accreditation, :(
- chaz2b
*btw, i'll probably do it again, so i'll go ahead and use this post as my apology in masse`, :/
- chaz2b
Same way in real life - laugh or ignore. If worst comes to worse, block.

Jim, we always used the paraphrased version of that: "Sin boldly so that grace may abound!" (A friend who happened to be youth minister at our church relied heavily on that phrase. He's expecting massive quantities of grace to come his way.)

^^^ there's a Russian tongue-in-cheek proverb: "no sinning means no repentance, no repentance means no salvation".

Dear Titty Cat, welcome to the exclusive club of the *ONLY* thing I've *EVER* blocked/hidden on FF. Not a complaint for the person who posted it. And while I'm a fan of pics of boobs and pics of cats...that's just a bit much for me to look at all day. Thank you...that is all.
