There are some 3rd party sites that do pretty much the same thing, but it would be nice to have the feature built in or integrated in some way.

Does FriendFeed not do stats anymore? I remember it was still on the old site when the beta rolled out and ppl thought it would be in the new version when beta went live.
How about a feature to filter by service? For example, click a button and see all posts from delicious, or from listal, or digg, etc. -- or some combination of services?
I already know the GreaseMonkey Script... But I don't want to use it to get something that I think makes complete sense.

And that I hope will get back to the site.
- Marco Neves
Yes I like them, please bring them back :)

Icons on old ff were also useful filter for different services. Now in the new ff i dont know how to see just one service...
- Anže
Nope, I don't believe they are coming back. But I think that's a good thing. It's less important where the content is coming from and FriendFeed are putting more emphasis on discussions. You can sill see the name of the service on each post, it's just not indicated with an icon now.
- Kol Tregaskes
I dont think that s a very good argument! Icons were very useful as a filter and as an indicator. They didnt endanger the discussion!
- Anže
I believe they come back too. If has not they very troublesome.
- BBroker
I disagree, Kol. It is important where the content comes from, especially with RSS feeds where it looks like you've written the content being pulled when you haven't. Since the name of the service is there, why not have the visual cue as to where the content is from? They don't endanger anything, and the continued argument that "oh, they're not important," or from some, "get over it," is certainly making me want to not use FF. I use the GM script now, but this should be part of the service.

+1 Kol. I highly doubt the favicons are coming back in the default layout. I personally like the feed without them. But perhaps they will be an option when FF releases custom themes/skins.
- Kevin Whalen
Criz: user testing is why they got rid of them. Given that the service is growing a lot faster after the change than before, I don't think they are coming back either. Personally I don't miss them, although for the first day or two I kept looking for them.
- Robert Scoble
Thanks, Robert. If by user testing, you mean beta, I recall a fair share of users not liking their removal during beta testing. I still think they are worthwhile and I'll continue using the GM for them. The most obvious case where they are needed is for RSS feeds. Even if it says GReader or Delicious under the comment, an RSS feed make it seem like the user is actually saying whatever...

On my profile, it features a custom RSS service, which was probably the 20th or so service I added to my account (Custom RSS wasn't added until months after I joined), so I don't think that's it.
- Mark Trapp
Mohomed: I share far more things on my Tumblr and Google Reader profiles than the aforementioned Custom RSS feed. And next to nothing from LinkedIn or Facebook (both are also featured).
- Mark Trapp
It would be great if all icons would show up in profile...
- Anže
very good point. let them arrange, and/or show them somehow all
- Petr Buben
I would like to see icons back in the main feed to designate source of info coming in. This is more useful than the ability to see them in my profile.
- jcunwired
There's a greasemonkey script called FriendFeed Service Icons that will add them. Once installed you'll see the icons as well as the avatars. http://userscripts.org/tags...
