Why can't Apple get this right? I have to connect 3 things to connect to my desktop? Why not just dock it? - Jesse Stay
you don't HAVE to jesse :) - MG Siegler
At least the price rumor was right.... for the display. - Roberto Bonini
this display is slick was just testing it out, if i needed a new latop/home system i would buy a MacBook Pro and this monitor. - MG Siegler
You wouldn't want a dock for a display that'd be useful with other model notebooks. For example, if it were a dock, it wouldn't work for any of the earlier generation notebooks, as the magsafe adapter is on the opposite site of the other ports. It's really not hard to connect three wires. - Mark Trapp
At 35:40 Jobs says about the Macbook Air: "And we're putting in a new DisplayPort so you can drive all of our new displays." Seems that the rest of the line will be moving to DisplayPort relatively soon (as if there was any doubt). Also, he later says the DisplayPort will be standard across Macs. Does that hold true for Mac Pro towers as well? Nice. - Kevin Fox
think so kevin, i talked with the apple reps a bunch about it after, they are pretty excited about the mini display port - i was impressed that the macbook air one can drive a 30-inch monitor - MG Siegler

I'm not a fan of the amount of glass on these things. If you drop a MBP now, there's a good chance you're walking out of it with just a couple of dings due to the plastic display and sudden motion sensor. Now, I'm afraid the display and the trackpad would shatter. - Mark Trapp
i dont think the trackpad would mark - the screen certainly could though. still these things are pretty solid, you'd have to drop it on the screen somehow i think for it to shatter. someone should test this. will it blend? - MG Siegler
MG Siegler
