@Akiva - you don't - there's an app called AptBackup that will backup all the apps you download, themes, etc. and whenever you upgrade to the new firmware, you redownload AptBackup, hit Restore, and all your apps are redownloaded, and all your apps and settings are restored. It's fantastic. - Nathan Chase
