ArcGis 10, W7 64bit: at installation it requires esri.net assemblies. But .net2.0 and 3.5 is already installed by default, in the ArcGIS installation repair dialogue it is no more listed. Can vou give me some help?
10.0 version. I also made sure to recreate your demo text file just to make sure. Could you please provide me with some feedback on this issue? Thank you very much.
Thomas, First of all thank you for creating such a useful product. It has resuced my workflow time considerably. Second, I am having trouble using the Batch Geolocate tool in the ArcGIS 10.0 version of your tool. I can bring in the same text file using the 9.3 version but, not the 10.
Thomas, good work on a very helpful set of tools. I am having trouble uploading pictures taken with a Ricoh G700SE w/ built in GPS. The error occurs when using the 'Loading ArcPhoto Elements' tool and is caused by the /Exif/Gps/Satellites field. The Ricoh pads the field to 89 characters whether it needs to or not. Example: <Property>...
Thomas, I have troubles getting "Batch Geolocate" to work with ArcGIS 10 and ArcPhoto 1.5.1 on Win 7 x64. I've created a batch file according to the specifications, but whenever I try to run it I get the following error: "ERROR 000584, Implementation of this Tool's Validate is invalid." Any ideas?
I have the same problem with Win 7, ArcGIS 9.3 and ArcPhoto 1.4.4. With 1.4.2 it works, but then I can't use the function "batch create photo elements"....
yes, there is currently an issue that I am working on, I am waiting on confirmation from a couple of testers, ...1.4.5 should become available within a couple of days

Hello Thomas, some time ago I commented in "FriendFeed" that I've still problems with ArcPhoto 1.4.5 under Win 7 y ArcGIS9.3. Problems is related with "loading Arc Photo Elements into geodatabase. The "Redlands Photo layer" is always empty. Did I forgot some important step or have more people the problem. Thanks, Christian

I was trying to use Arcphoto with the oics taken with Nikon D90 and GP-1, but the attribute table remains empty. The xy location is properly imported into geometry (so I can populate X and Y via ArcGIS), but capture direction is empty. EXIF header shows that direction exists under name heading. Is there any way to link that info.
Alan, I am not quite sure that I follow your workflow completely. So you have the images loaded in a database and all the attributes are empty? Please feel free to contact me directly at temge at esri.com and we can talk about the issues in more details.

OK. I will do. Yes, you understand everything right. Simply all the attrib remains <null> values.

I've tried now the version 1.4.5 (Win 7, ArcGIS9.3) and I have still the same problem. One question: Is it necesary to group the photos before runnig "Load ArcPhoto Elements into a Geodatabase model"? Because I have also a problem to group the fotos (acces to the path denied).
Hey, uh, I can't seem to get a photo element to display on the map after running the Load ArcPhoto Elements into a Geodatabase model. Windows 7, ArcGIS 9.3 Info, ArcPhoto 1.4.2. It works fine on my Vista machine. The model runs normally and says the Make Photo Layer was successful but noithing in the TOC. A feature class is created in the gdb.
Agus, that would be fantastic. I have posted an outline of the work at http://maps.esri.com/ArcPhot.... Please let me know if you have any question or in case you get stuck with any of the files.

ArcPhoto (Version 1.4.1) is live, go get it at http://arcscripts.esri.com/details... - ArcPhoto is the quickest way to integrate digital photographs into the ArcGIS platform - and it is free and open ;)
Hi Thomas, I like the ArcPhoto extension you've made and i'm wondering if you could advise me towards any good guides for getting to grips with a language like C# or C++ so I can start extending ArcGIS. I've been looking around and found helpful guides on ESRI pages but of course with an older version of VB. Any advice or pointers?
It depends where you are coming from. I would recommend to look on Amazon for a good C# starter book. After that take a closer look at .NET/COM interop and get to know some of the details. While studying that topic you would start coding with implementing something like ICommand and/or ITool for extending ArcGIS. Once those basics are covered you pretty ready to go in any kind of direction.

coding for the next release (1.4) is almost done. New feature are: IPTC header support, batch geolocate/geotagging support, and script to convert GPS tracklog shapefile to route shapefile for input into Match Photo location geoprocessing tool
