Kimber Scott
"This example gives a good insight to what Repin finds essential in achieving a portrait likeness. He probably had only an hour or two to work on this study. He quickly stated the big flat tones of the coat, table, and paper. He defined the structural planes of the head like a master woodcarver. The effect almost looks like a blurry photograph. He didn’t paint the small details of eyes, nostrils, and lips, but instead concentrated on the overall structure." - Kimber Scott from Bookmarklet

As I explained in the other interview, the fundamental theme of my work is a “world” that functions by the phenomenon seen in the balanced aquarium. It is a limited space within which the circle of life exists. The size of the world to an individual varies depending on his imagination and determination. How would one view the world if his living space were physically limited, maybe in a container, for example, an aquarium? - Lethe Bashar

I’m studying in SPb Academy of arts and prefer figurative paintings with traditional effects of lights and textures. I like to paint my models in real situation without any idealistic. I like hyper realism and naturalism art styles. - Lethe Bashar

Michael Cheval is the world's leading contemporary artist, specializing in Absurdist paintings, drawings and portraits. In his definition, "absurdity" is an inverted side or reality, a reverse side of logic. It does not emerge from the dreams of surrealists, or the work of subconsciousness. It is a game of imagination, where all ties are carefully chosen to construct a literary plot. Any one of Cheval's paintings is a map of his journey into illusion. His work is often metaphorical and requires a sharp eye to decipher the often hidden allusions. Other category: Eternity - http://chevalfineart.com/gallery... - Can - blogcan.org

This is a high quality antique lithograph by Friedrich Wilhelm Kuhnert and was made in Italy about 1895. Kuhnert (1865-1926) was a German artist who specialised in wildlife. He was especially good at portraying animals in natural settings. - Amira from Bookmarklet

I was born and raised in Utah, enduring weekly earthquake drills at school and lessons about the apocalypse and the “evils of the world” on Sundays. I felt somewhat safe and protected, surrounded by Mormons and the Rocky Mountains, but as I grew older, I got a bit of courage and ventured out of my hometown. I lived in Germany, England, Taiwan, Seattle and New England. I was reshaped by my travels and embraced many types of people and new ways of thinking. During my time in New England, my wife and I had two children. I received a BFA from MassArt and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design. We now live in Tornado Alley in Kansas City, Missouri where I teach painting and drawing at UMKC. (20×200) - Lethe Bashar

- Laniez
