"Researchers were conducting a study comparing the views of men in their 20s who had never been exposed to pornography with regular users. But their project stumbled at the first hurdle when they failed to find a single man who had not been seen it. “We started our research seeking men in their 20s who had never consumed pornography,” said Professor Simon Louis Lajeunesse. “We couldn't find any.” Although hampered in its original aim, the study did examined the habits of those young men who used pornography – which would appear to be all of them."

"Single men watched pornography for an average of 40 minutes, three times a week, while those in relationships watched it 1.7 times a week for around 20 minutes. The study found that men watched pornography that matched their own image of sexuality, and quickly discarded material they found offensive or distasteful. Prof Lajeunesse said pornography did not have a negative effect on...

I was going to say something similar, Sarah. Try the Amish, or maybe some Hasidic Jews?
- Laura Norvig
The Amish just keep it in the community, usually via sexual molestation of underage females, because they'll be treated harshly if they speak out. http://www.youtube.com/watch...
- Mark Jepsen
Headline is a bit misleading. This was an attempt to study 20 men, which were to be divided in two groups, porn-watchers and non-porn-watchers, and they simply couldn't find any to fit in the second group. Doesn't sound like they surveyed thousands of men.
- Louis Simoneau
"All men watch porn." ...although we only studied men in their 20s, we'll go ahead and assume that they represent men of all ages. Good call.

"I've loved French macarons ever since 2006 when I spent a semester stuffing my face with them in Paris. Since then, they've slowly gained popularity in the U.S., but not to the point of being available in McCafés or regular supermarkets like I saw in Paris. However, they will soon be available at Starbucks—maybe American domination isn't too far away. The 12-piece macaron boxes made in France by Château Blanc will only be sold for a limited time, from December 13 until December 25."

"Richard Todd, an actor who reenacted his wartime exploits in the 1962 film "The Longest Day" and was Ian Fleming's choice to play James Bond, has died of cancer. He was 90. Todd, who was nominated for an Academy Award for the 1949 film "The Hasty Heart" and starred as U.S. Senate chaplain Peter Marshall in "A Man Called Peter" (1954), died Thursday at his home in Little Humby, Lincolnshire, in central England, according to his agency, the Richard Stone Partnership. In Britain, one of his best-known roles was playing Royal Air Force pilot Guy Gibson in "The Dam Busters." Fleming had preferred Todd to take the lead in "Dr. No" in 1962, the Daily Telegraph said in its obituary, but a schedule clash opened the way for Sean Connery to define the part. Instead, Todd took the role of role of Inspector Harry Sanders in "Death Drums Along the River," released in 1963."

"For the casserole, corn tortillas were cut in half, brushed with oil, and toasted in the oven. They’re removed before they become crunchy, but they do become sturdier. Spinach leaves were cooked and drained, onion was sauteed with chopped roasted poblanos, and the black beans were cooked with garlic."

Hmmm, interesting. It's like a multi-stack quesadilla.

This sounds very interesting. I have a "Mexican Lasagna" recipe that is similar to this, but I think I might like this recipe better.

"Estate agents are using the property's unusual size as its selling point, and have put it on the market at £549,950. The house on Goldhawk Road in Shepherd's Bush, west London, has five levels - a lower ground, ground, first, second and third floor, with 1,000 sq ft of space. It looks set to record a good price as a shortage of stock across London and low interest rates continue to drive prices up."

"From best newcomer at the Brits to sold-out tours, Florence Welch’s bluesy indie rock has certainly made an impact in 2009. This box set comprises her debut album, live show and rarities and covers."

"Vegetarians, look away now. Potatoes and tomatoes make good eating but they may also have a vicious side that makes them deadly killers on a par with venus fly traps and pitcher plants. They have been identified as among a host of plants thought to have been overlooked by botanists and explorers searching the world’s remotest regions for carnivorous species. Researchers at Royal Botanical Gardens Kew now believe there are hundreds more plants that catch and eat insects and other small animals than they previously realised. Among them are species of petunia, ornamental tobacco plants, potatoes and tomatoes and shepherd’s purse, a relative of cabbages. “Widely recognised carnivorous plants number some 650 and we estimate that another 325 or so are probable additions – so an increase of about 50 per cent,” said Dr Mike Fay, of Kew."

"Among them are plants such as ornamental tobaccos, and some species of potatoes and tomatoes which have sticky hairs which trap aphids and other small invertebrates. It is thought that rather than devour the prey directly the dead bodies decay slowly and the nutrients fall to the ground where they are taken up by the roots. “They catch little aphids on the sticky hairs all the time. "These never-before-seen photographs of Blondie's Debbie Harry reveal the "Heart of Glass" singer perched on her friend, the cult designer Stephen Sprouse, who helped create her pop-punk image. Taken in the Eighties in New York, other images show the star in an armchair, posing on a rooftop with a snake-like whip in her hand, the Empire State Building in the background. Blondie looks vampish in a black wig, while a colour photograph taken in 1985 looks like a glamorous mug shot. These photographs by Brian Aris are just a few to be exhibited from his archive, recording Harry all over the world, throughout her long career to the present day. 'Being Blondie: Debbie Harry by Brian Aris' is at Proud Camden from 8 December to 11 January 2010 (www.proud.co.uk)"

"A couple in Australia have built a house that can rotate to follow the sun. Luke and Debbie Everingham's home, in Wingham, New South Wales, can turn full circle thanks to a turntable upon which it is built. The rooms of the octagonal building are designed to let in more light than average, and thanks to the property's unique shape, are also more spacious than usual. All the rooms are attached to a central core of plumbings and electrical fittings around which the house can turn. The mechanism is powered by two small electric engines no larger than that of a washing machine, and is controlled using a touch-screen panel in the living area. The couple, who spent £400,000 designing and building the house, told how the idea was born when their neighbours were discussing their own new-build."

"The property, which is 24 metres in diameter, also boasts a three-metre, 360 degree verandah. 'It's a magic place to live because you can make the most of the weather and your surroundings,' he added. 'The only problem is that you can sometimes become a bit disorientated.'"
