I like the sound and good song. Did the guitarist mix it? Personally, i'd like the vocals to stand out more and the guitar just a tad less in areas but i like it. Very nice. /grats
- ·[▪_▪]·
yeah we mixed/mastered ourselves... I agree - the vocals as a whole could be a little more present. getting them to be up front without "hearing the mic" is a tough balance.
- Nathan Chase
nice song, so re: the tech - you ended up w/ enclosure generated by postero.us then reshared to your main feed, that produced the playbar?
- mike "glemak" dunn
@Mike - that's correct. I imported the postero.us as a service to a private FriendFeed group, and reshared the imported post to my Home feed
- Nathan Chase
vocals to the front, guitars to the back, and a great track you have there.
- Marcos Marado
Here's us playing it live at a recent gig: http://friendfeed.com/nathanc... - it was shot using Qik on an iPhone to stream it live, so sound/video quality isn't the best.
- Nathan Chase
Needs more cowbell. But quite good even without. =)
- ronin
Awesome, when you make it big time maybe layer more guitar tracks on top, but what do i know, you're the musician. PS peeps song keeps getting better as it goes.
- Steve C
thanks Steve - yeah, we only have the single guitarist, so we just tried to capture what we pull of live, with a bit more polish. Glad you like the track!
- Nathan Chase
Dude, this is your band? I stumbled on them today completely unrelated and by accident. Strange days... great band. I love both tracks, want more, will pay ;)
- Michael W. May
You're not going to believe this, but I didn't get a chance to hear this when you posted it, and then MWM linked me to the band's MySpace, and I just started randomly listening and was like, hey, great drum work. I SWEAR I thought that before I even looked at the people in the band and realized it was your band! I really like your sound.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Love the intro (guitar is fun). Drums great throughout. Please let me know where to find a website or something for your band, Nathan! This is just up my alley!
- Chieze Okoye
Michael & Jandy - wow! that's awesome! :) How did you come across the band, Michael?
- Nathan Chase
I don't know *piss-poor memory* :P It may have been via Cherrypeel, as I was going through emails earlier of sites I've signed up for but had forgotten about. But I cannot recall for certain.
- Michael W. May
Yeah, Cherrypeel might be it. That's really the only other place other than MySpace and Facebook that we have songs up online.
- Nathan Chase
It could have been Myspace, but I don't see what would have led me to your page. I did end up there, though *points to friend request and blog sub*
- Michael W. May
Also just sent a Friend Request. Oh, the other thing I thought seeing the MySpace page? Wow, a MySpace page that doesn't suck! ;)
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Nice! Yeah, wanted it to be something different when you first see it. Also tried to keep it as simple as we could (simple for a MySpace page, anyway)
- Nathan Chase

We do the exact same thing on weekends, diff is that its known people. Weekend projects, hacks etc. This could be a grea http://riteshnayak.com/moffe...
"Finally, Xbox Live members will now be able to interact with both Facebook and Twitter through their consoles. They'll be able to share photos with Facebook friends via Xbox Live, and be able to see their lists of Xbox Live and Facebook friends simultaneously"
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
don't forget last.fm. they're attempting to grow the social network aspect of media interchange. disappointed that the zune was merely a re-brand and nothing to do with utilitarian functionality w/ the zunehd. but it's a step in the right direction for them.
- sɹǝɥʇɐǝɟʞɔɐןq
I want the internet on my XBox, not just Facebook and Twitter.
- Jeff Weber
To my 39,000 followers on friendfeed I pass you 39,000 kisses. Considering only 11,841 people live in Half Moon Bay, where I currently live, I think that's pretty cool. Oh, and I don't ghost post like Guy Kawasaki does. Every single post here and on Twitter is written by me and me alone. Well, except for that time that Arrington got my iPhone...
I never had any doubt that your a real person and not a team of PR agents. And thank you for checking out my blog. (Sorry it's crap)
- dthree
Robert - The kiss thing's kind of scary - a hug's fine... :)
- Jim Connolly
Got a post into the "Best of the day" for the first time today and now I've been kissed goodnight by Scoble. Be still my beating heart.
- Sharon McPherson
To all those Robert-Scoble-followers: you can get some kisses from me too. Although I live in Amsterdam (600.000 inhabitants) it kind of felt like I had to experience that feeling too. Thank you Robert, for sharing this. :-)
- Ton Zijp
I will like the post but pass on the kisses... thnx :)
- ralphsaunders
Go see if my childhood house still stands in Half Moon Bay- 335 Filbert St. When i was there there were about 4 streets total it seemed, one stop light, and you ran through a field to get to the cliff that overlooked the beach.
- Steve C
Aw shucks! how sweet, :) Robert loves <3 his FF buddies and we love him back! :)
- Susan Beebe
Did you ever see the movie with Paul Newman 'Judge Roy Bean' The reason I ask BoBo is I would like to call you BoBO. If I may! But the demise of BoBO was the great part! Tell me you saw it!
- ZuDfunck
LOL...Death to all Ghost Posters!! J/k, Kawasaki is cool, but Scoble is über cool!
- Harold Cabezas
Guy Kawasaki is a duche... all he does is find lame links... say bla bla and links to alltop. Who the hell wants to go to a news website. That is so web 1.0 hasn't he heard of rss?
- Kasper Retvig
Robert, I unsubscribed and unfollowed Guy just the other day because he just doesn't 'engage'. There is next to no conversation from him/his PR agents, and pretty well everything is just links back to his websites. I have no problem with people marketing their websites, but I want conversations, not just link vomit.
- Travis Koger
Aww, and I'm not even in SF right now! Hola desde la pintoreca Buenos Aires.
- Jesse Hattabaugh
Not as much as I can (for sure). Ever since she was diagnosed gluten intolerant 2 years ago, we basically have two completely separate shopping lists and most meals are in parallel, so I tend to fly solo.
- Louis Gray
Look, you can always teach a smart woman to cook.
- Will Higgins™
I'm waiting anxiously on Derrick's answer to this one. He's my cooking hero on FF.
- Will Higgins™
What about someone who is sharp and can cook :o ;)
- Nicholas James
Mona directs it at the ladies ... and the guys answer :)
- Charlie Anzman
I think I deleted a thread by accident and too late to undelete it...damn my fingers! :( Antway phones abt to die. MAN I'm so upset that thread got deleted!! :(
- Mona Nomura
from fftogo
smart enough to make tons of money to hire private chef. i'm a guy so my response is if a girl was looking at me. i can cook so not an issue either way. if i was looking for a girl, i would want one that could cook and artsy (like martha stewart) and have a heart of gold. am i asking for too much?
- Pokai
Definitely smart but doesn't cook. However, this time around I got both! :) Bonus points. Go me! :)
- Sheryl
smart but doesn't cook. i love cooking, but I really wouldn't mind if he would clean up after :)
- Rachel Lea Fox
joey, Sheryl, Rachel, is that "smart but doesn't cook now, so he can be imprinted with proper know-how to cook later?"
- ianf ⌘
Not for me, but that is an interesting point. Intelligence would likely translate to more workarounds and options in life as a result of creative thinking. I'd just prefer interesting conversations to culinary excellence. And I could be well-fed without a partner who can cook (even if I couldn't be, I'd choose intelligence...and I really love food). Beyond that, I can cook, so it's not something that I need to rely on someone else for (though I enjoy that my fiance can cook as well).
- joey
ianf ⌘ - you can't change a man...or woman for that matter. ;)
- Mona Nomura
Mona, you are of course aware that the sisterhood is now sharpening its (carbon-fibre) knitting needles to set you straight on the first point?
- ianf ⌘
Used "Acre-foot" because: "An acre-foot is a unit of volume commonly used in the United States in reference to large-scale water resources, such as reservoirs, aqueducts, canals, sewer flow capacity, and river flows." See > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
- David Damore
sometimes, interest vanishes as the time progresses.
- ashish
As social services become more like a random sample of the overall population wouldn't trending topics within different degrees of your social network be more interesting?
- Todd Hoff
Todd: Very true. Trending topic among a self defined group would be much more interesting to me than seeing trending topics such as "American Idol"
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Weekend Trending Topics are different than those during the week. Spammers are more active, at least the last two weekends.
- Liz
Twitter is attracting lot of spammer these days. The more popular it gets the more spam it attracts. As a user, I can block them individually but that is it.
- ashish
I'd like to see Trending Tropics filtered on the community of people I'm following
- Mike Doeff
Think Twitter should of been called 'popular' as oppose to Trending Topics, nothing I see is a real trend in the truest sense. It just happens to be what's popular over a period of time and more often the search results is flooded with spammers and disconnected tweets. Get the feeling no one at Twitter think this matters. I'm with you on this one Francine. Hence the since to FriendFeed.
- Julie Williams
thanks Zee, although since I don't have many Tumblr users following me, my blog doesn't even show up on the list once I tag :( http://nohype.tumblr.com
- Stuart Miniman
It's a terribly clunky way to do it but to find tumblr blogs that interest me in the past I have used google search: "PHRASE OF INTEREST site:tumblr.com". Kind of a random way to find tumblr blogs but it works.
- Mike Bracco
this is so crazy! i cant believe the dog jumps over the car like that! i just retweeted this.
- Jason Pollock
The cops came around the bowling alley after all the customers left and ended up doing a training exercise with the dog. Someone put on a sleeve. It was awesome!
- Rodfather
Oops !!! are you sure that is dog ??? :)))
- CRASH3R
That's incredible. Not one iota of hesitation.
- Rick Cogley
training exercise but that dog would do the same in real - and a few bites are better than a bullet even for the perpetrator.
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
@Jesse, Reality shows are always in rewrites ;)
- Micah Wittman
@Michael - same thing happened when they turned off free SMS for a bunch of countries - as far as I was aware there was no prior warning, they just flicked the switch. Admittedly, the free SMS was costing them money, but some form of advance warning would have been nice..
- Matt Hooper
From the newly written second part of the blog: "We'll be introducing better ways to discover and follow interesting accounts as we release more features in this space." So, perhaps they have some new feature that would trump seeing @replies? Either way, wouldn't you introduce the new feature and then sunset the old - phased approach - or at least do a switchover from one to the other.
- AJ Kohn
In that little screen grab, the favorite star is not marked. ;) ;)
- David Damore
Sorry, David. I recommend downloading the image, opening it in PhotoShop and utilizing the Fill Bucket.
- Louis Gray
It's nice to know they're listening for once. I wonder how many complaints they received.
- Michael Fidler
Alternative (check or uncheck): "[ X ] Only show replies to those I follow." Eureka! Alternative-ness was already there. Back where we started.
- Micah Wittman
Go ev. It's nice when people can at least consider that they've made a mistake. We all make mistakes. How you handle them is a sign of character.
- Mitchell Tsai
before our tears hit the floor, @ev responds to #fixreplies
- iTbay
I'm in shock. Twitter has always done right by the community. They screwed the pooch on this one.
- drew olanoff
Thanks for your feedback? Seriously? Am I in the damn twilight zone? The blog post called this "confusing" Yet um its the only way my mom knew who to follow.
- drew olanoff
@drew now that's the best use case example right there! :)
- Matt Hooper
Oh, and re Twitter doing right by the community...ask @jesse about the advance notice provided by Twitter to 3rd party developers before the API is changed, or a usage restriction is imposed. Sometimes there is no warning, and 3rd party apps are broken.
- John E. Bredehoft
from fftogo
Ev is essentially now saying we should have seen it coming, because of this blog post he wrote a year ago. http://bit.ly/vfKY
- Sharon McPherson
I am seriously baffled by their logic. I need to sleep on this since the thoughts behind this is driving me batty. How can they push this option on to people? I really don't understand lol!
- Mona Nomura
Couldn't care less about the feature; this was one of the first things I disabled anyway. But I get really upset for twitter fixing something that wasn't broken, and taking away flexibility from the users. Just stupid.
- gui ambros
gui: it wasn't something you would have disabled... the default was to have this feature turned off - i guess you would say that you never turned it on, since it was never on for you to disable it
- Chris Heath
I'm not sure that @Ev alone is responsible for this decision. I hate this decision but I don't think it was made by one person alone. After all, @Biz wrote the blog entries explaining it all. I bet it was just a terrible group decision.
- Liz
"Group think" is a crusher. Gonna be a busy week at Twitter HQ sorting this mess out/fixing it
- David Damore
I think I missed something.......hmmmmmmm. time to go dig around. =)
