As with most things of this sort, the framing may be more of an issue than the "facts." (Although "exponential times" is such a lovely, and essentially meaningless, term that I couldn't help but like it.) I'll give the creators credit: They stop short of The Meaning. - Walt Crawford

It seems to me its main intent is to hammer to people in the United States "you're not the centre of the world". To those of us outside the US, this is not exactly a groundbreaking message. It also makes a bunch of false equivalencies, as if raw numbers were directly translatable across cultures and countries. Also: stuff is happening fast and there are a lot of people in the world. - Richard Akerman
