October - your doin' it wrong. (but I'm not complaining).

Way wrong. Its 85F in Virginia. No complaints here either! - JC unwired
Yep, it is hot here in Virginia the last couple days. - Michael Tefft
</jealous> It was like that yesterday but today it's 60 :( - zoblue (Zulema)
Ugh...low to mid-80's expected here in Florida. Very jealous of your good weather. - JA Castillo
Yeah, the human race as we know it is on a rocketship to hell - Terence Washington
hmmm 22ºC in Lisbon and sunny! - Bryan Thatcher via twhirl
it's 46F here. :( - AJ Batac
Wow, 54 in SF?! Only 45 here in Northern Nevada! - Nicholas Kreidberg
Wow, for us Floridians, that would be super cold! :) - Mike Reynolds
Huh... It's 73*F here in the First State. - Shawn Poulson
18ºC here in Buenos Aires, and it's Spring. - Alejandro S.
64* degrees in Chicago and sunny..just beautiful - Sheryl
68 F here in Ottawa, Canada. Normal temperature is 55 F. Worst period of the year. The heating system at the office thinks it's way cooler than what it actually is. - Sylvain Nadeau

I'm following you, but you don't tell me anything about the new iPhone, so you aren't interesting. :-) - Robert Scoble
I'm changing that now. :) - Morton Fox
Pity party is now in full force on your FF! - Jason Shellen
Done and done. - Vincent X
I have no idea who you are, but woohoo Andy Sternberg FTW! - Ashley Williams via Alert Thingy
Hahaha! what a nice surprise! Were you all just watching the everyone friendfeed roll by? As for Scoble, I have a feeling that he actually is the machine ourselves ;-) - Andy Sternberg
I think Scobes is just gonna be the first of us to transcend into posthumanity. And then we'll get a blog post with a title like, "Woah! This is SOOOO cool! I'm crying!" - Tad, better than boredom
I was told there would be free cake here... - Brett Kelly
This could only happen on FF - Julian Baldwin
i will borrow some likes from 'scoble' - bvs
@Tad - too funny. I really think Scoble helps set a positive tone in this space. - Andy Sternberg
@Julian it's true -- FF is the ultimate test of: can you leave a comment on a blog (or aggregator) AND remember to responsibly track it / come back to it in good time? I've failed many times in the past by leaving moderately provocative comments on blogs and then fading into the ether. - Andy Sternberg
I'm in the same boat...actually you've one upped me with this post and all the comments here :) - Jennifer Van Grove via Alert Thingy
Funny, I was following Jennifer too (both before I saw this post), but she doesn't tell me anything about Google's new Android, so she isn't interesting either. Hope that helps. - Robert Scoble
it's always a competition with you isn't it, @jbruin ;-p Try me in Scrabulous sometime. - Andy Sternberg
Your Attention Whore-fu is weak. lol - Karim
weakness intended. like Julian said above -- it would only pan out on FF and in this stage of the rollout. I was surprised. Then again, I left a summize search open set to friendfeed when I left work and there were a couple hundred new results when I returned, so the buzz is only picking up among the broader microblogging community. Whore-fu that ;-) - Andy Sternberg
Scoble: when people get all iPhone/Android-crazy it really tempts me to start-up the Face-fone rumor. You know, the handset that comes with a multi-touch super-poke proboscis. - Andy Sternberg
[wipes trace of blood from lip] You win THIS round of Attention Whore-fu, Andy. But next time... next time I will link to ARRINGTON. [dramatic music] - Karim
LULZ @ Karim. nice one. chills even. - Andy Sternberg
oh man it's harsh times here on FF, I didn't realize I needed to talk about Android to be interesting :), oh and @netzoo I'll take you down at Scrabulous...it's on...just not now @jbruin needs to finish a business spec for a top secret project - Jennifer Van Grove via Alert Thingy
Andy, now you're getting more interesting. Keep it up! :-) - Robert Scoble
well, thanks. I did set the bar pretty low there. This is a very vacant call to arms though -- what if a microblogger SERIOUSLY needed to flag a tweet/post for urgency. should there be standards? I do hate those urgent flags in Outlook, etc, but still... - Andy Sternberg via Alert Thingy
Hi Andy. I "liked" 3 of your items. I'm sure as I have time to go through your FriendFeed stuff that I'll "like" more. Welcome to FriendFeed! ;-) - Mitchell Tsai
you're not alone. then again, i've just recently become a "fan" of friendfeed. there's too much going on at times to capture meaningful content or contributions, but you have to start somewhere i guess. - Cee Bee
Awww come 'ere, big hug. There ! :) - Mo Kargas
we can't have that now can we. Looks like you have hit the mark with this post though. 21 comments and counting. Not bad! - Michael McGimpsey
Okay, piling on with my pity because I always do what FF comments tell me to do. :-) - Joanmarie

What about the scientist who think it may result in a Black Hole! - Victor Ryden
it could result in a black hole but that doesn't mean it will ..and if it did happen the whole planet would be ground zero .. a not too pleasant thought - JohnBfromMemphis via twhirl
@JohnBfromMemphis if it did happen there would be no ground. Just 0. - tagami
Yeah, that's why we here in Texas turned our Super Conducting Super Collider into a very large tube with which to grow Shitake mushrooms. I wish I was joking about this. - Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins
Mark: we talked about the Texas debacle. The physicist who was showing us around was very disappointed and didn't like talking about it. - Robert Scoble
The shutdown of the SSC was one of the reasons I dropped out of my Ph.D. program. - Sam Pullara
@Robert, @Sam: I was a kid when all that happened, but I remember when I was in school and they were trying to keep the thing alive - I still have stacks of documents and brochures about the SSC and what was capable because of it. Keep it for nostalgic reasons. - Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins

I'm loving the newest alert thingy version.... this is niiiiiiice ...via AlertThingy - Bob
I agree. Although I wouldn't mind if it added Facebook status updates. Maybe a redux Mini-feed if you're pushing it :P ...via AlertThingy - CannonGod
Love Alert Thngy even more now. Just have to get AIR alpha to work on my Linux system now :-(. Getting spoiled by this Mac. ...via AlertThingy - Tony
Blogit is the new AlertThingy. ...via AlertThingy - Dan
I am just testing it since today but I am liking it. However, I think it could use some filters (per source, with comments, etc.) ...via AlertThingy - Andrés David Aparicio
alertthingy is not as polished as twhirl yet, but it's getting there. And yes, they could definitely merge, I wouldn't mind. ...via AlertThingy - Stan Schroeder
Still buggy, but has great potential. I also love the regular daily updates. ...via AlertThingy - Joshua Kerr
Social Thing has nice FB integration. Would love that via FriendFeed and Alert Thingy. ...via AlertThingy - David Smith
I like Alert Thingy better than Twhirl for what it is worth. ...via AlertThingy - David Evans
Yeah, I with the other poster that wants to get Adobe Air to work on Linux! dammit. - rambn
I'm loving AlertThingy. The Twitter thing is great! Just wish they'd get rid of the "via AlertThingy" signature at the end. I'd even pay for a premium version. ...via AlertThingy - Brandon Titus
Totally in love with Alert Thingy! ...via AlertThingy - Daniel Spradau
Twirls fights back! - Daniel Spradau
Commenting on this post, via Twhirl, now with FriendFeed support! Yeah! ...via twhirl - Michel Bechelani
Twhirl also adds a via thing. But I can't seem to download Alert Thingy. The button doesn't render, and it says I need to install the latest flash player even though I installed it. So due to the process of Twhirl being the only thing I can get, it becomes my choice. ...via twhirl - Lucas Kjaero
Twhirl has upped the ante this morning with 0.7.9 though! ...via twhirl - Tris Hussey
I am confused... ...via AlertThingy - David Kaspar
Yeah I noticed that Twhirl added FriendFeed support to stay in the game. I tried it but like AlertThingy better. Neither are as good as they can be but AlertThingy has the better implementation in my opinion. ...via AlertThingy - Rolf Schewe
I think it looks a lot better than Alert Thingy, I do really want it to be integrated into the Twitter window though ...via twhirl - William Spaetzel
So far I think Twhirl is doing it better. Integrating the windows will be almost the final step. After that, filter the FF tweets so I dont see dupes. ...via twhirl - Soulhuntre
I just downloaded the new Twhril with FriendFeed support ...via twhirl - Mike Wills
To me the lack of integration is the problem. Neither are as good a twitter client (for just twitter) as Google Talk. The real-time updates squashes any features these other cleints have. I use Google Talk as my main twitter interface with AlertThingy on the side to track my and other people's social content. At this point the layout of AlertThingy is a little nicer. ...via AlertThingy - Rolf Schewe
Seems to me AlertThingy is in the lead, and Twhirl is trying to keep up. I like Twirls Twitter features and AlertThingy's friendfeed features, ummm.... ...via AlertThingy - Ashley Williams
still prefer twhirl. As soon as they can integrate into one window I'm removing AT ...via twhirl - Ryan
They are both lacking. Until I can either integrate all my follows into FF or filter my Tweeple from FF neither will be perfect. I think that the twhirl team will get there faster as Loic has more resouces. Who knows maybe @snookca will intgrate FF with snitter? ...via twhirl - Jay Gilmore
Twirl still has my vote - Charlie Anzman
Just bvecause you can tweet doen't mean you can read your tweets. this is a non-event. ...via AlertThingy - Matthew
Twhirl is still better i think. ...via twhirl - Tina K.J
Why can't we get rid of these via "...." messages. That's the killer for me. I don't care what client someone is using and it's just a distraction. Really not much advertising benefit either. - Brandon Titus
I agree. I still need to have Twirl for Twitter to be useful at all. ...via AlertThingy - Ainsworth Boyle
I don't know: I'm liking the possibilities of AThingy; less resource-intense than Twirl. ...via AlertThingy - Chris Judson
Brandon, the "via .." thing has been fixed. The clients need to update to use it. Check out a preview of how it's going to work here: http://friendfeed.com/e/b1d68a... - Bwana
i am running the latest version. let's see if the "via.." is fixed. ...via AlertThingy - Anand Sharma
testing yet again... ...via AlertThingy - Anand Sharma
Nope, it's not fixed. I mean, the "via AlertThingy" ...via AlertThingy - Anand Sharma
Still needs better grouping like the website - Ryan
Woot! ...via AlertThingy - Chacha
I want friendfeed to have a friendfeed bot like twitter@twitter.com .... - alfred westerveld
