Is the surname "Bose" the Bengali equivalent to the surname "Smith"? There isn't a close familial connection between the guy who founded the audio equipment company Alex Scoble despises and the guy whom an entire class of elementary particles was named after, right?

What's sad is that Amar Bose apparently knows enough about acoustic science that his MIT classes were (not sure if he's still teaching there) very popular. Too bad he didn't apply that knowledge to making good speakers.
