My aunt in Vegas randomly called me about something that, if she owned a computer or a smartphone and knew what Google was, I would've told her to Google.
I spoke to someone today who hadn't used a computer in over a decade and didn't know what email is. When I explained it to him, he looked like he doubted me. For the record, he was probably middle-aged and not Amish.

The furthest I was ever able to convince my aunt to go up the tech tree was a 486 running Windows for Workgroups with a 56k modem in the late '90s. Given the state of the Internet at the time, I'm not really surprised she concluded it was all a complete waste of resources.

@Katy hasn't used a computer in a decade... I've been doing e-mail for more than a decade... if he used a computer 10 years ago, he should know what e-mail is.... hmph.

Well, my idea about what using a computer means and his idea of what that means could be two very different things. I would have expected him to know, too.
