the more I learn about Evernote the more I am tempted to get an iPhone just for Evernote - really hard to get everything out of it without mobile capability
I love the idea of Evernote, but it's not as good at reading blurry phone images as you might think. Unless you're sitting at a desk in perfect light and everything is dead still. On the move, outside, standing, whatever...not so hot with blurry images. iPhone, Nokia (old-ass) and HTC (Mogul) have all been tried so far...with mostly not-terrific results. Still impressive, mind you, but just wanted to make sure your expectations are tempered a bit. :) - abacab
I wouldn't recommend it. - Andy DeSoto
good to know - thank you both! - Marco(aureliusmaximus)
Yeah, me too - I wanted to love Evernote, but wasn't able to. Saving web pages destroyed the layout, and the mobile version was not-full featured. I am a total new product/site/service whore, but I couldn't - no matter how hard I tried - find a context for it. - Steve Isaacs
Agree with earlier commenters- I read the raves among the tech bloggers, tried it and just didnt see the value. I dont think its breakthrough, just a different way to organize a database! - JMaultasch
@Steve Evernote for the iPhone has been updated recently. You can now edit existing notes, so I'm keeping it. It's been invaluable for meetings and even personal items (since it syncs up with my work and home PCs). - Peter Ghosh
i love love love evernote. It's everything I've been looking for. I'll be on the pay plan soon. - Lindsey is Fierce!
I mostly love Evernote and use it a lot for work and science notes from the desktop, but agree with abacab that it's not so good on reading data from the camera; either my chicken scratch is bad or the iPhone camera sucks. - Sally Church
One recent example. I wanted to snap some pics of some price labels at Ikea and...Costco, iirc. Took some pics, uploaded, and some of them were not well-lit or a bit blurry, and they were worthless. Tiny Ikea pencil and paper would have totally saved the day there, with a LOT less hassle... Plus, I have a reasonably high rate of recognition of my own scribbling. ;) - abacab
extremely helpful all - thanks - Marco(aureliusmaximus)
That's funny, one of my first uses was on Ikea labels too, abacab! - Andy DeSoto
