My Experience with Autism, by Temple Grandin http://mightymother.info/2009... I watched this fantastic presentation given by Animal Science professor Temple Grandin as a guest speaker for the M.I.N.D. Institute Lecture Series on Neurodevelopment Disorders. An Autistic herself, Temple Gradin gives unique in sight into the mind of the autistic....
The Horse Boy Marianna When I came across this trailer I was totally moved by it. The Horse Boy, a movie do out in theaters this fall, tells the story of a father who finds a way into his Autistic son’s life through a horse. When the father realizes the connection his son has with their horse the family takes a journey of healing and love that...

can you also add me to plurk, friend feed and stumbleupon (autismfamily) is ID all over. If you add Digg I am there also. Thanks
- Bonnie Sayers
Hi Genevieve! Can you add me to the Twitter and Friendfeed lists when you have a moment? http://twitter.com/elizbet... and ElizabethChannel on Friendfeed. Thanks so much! I'm excited about reading all this!
- Elizabeth Channel
I am Trish (wheresthebox) on FriendFeed and WherestheBox on StumbleUpon if you want to add those. BTW, I have to activate comments on each post for 5MFSN and I have to scroll down to a little section called Comments & Pings to checkmark the box for comments. Don't know if it is the same on the version you are using.
- wheresthebox
Not that I really want to know, but what is Jaiku?
- wheresthebox
OK, I think I got them all. As for Jaiku, not sure. Assume it's another micro-blogging service. ;)
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Does this also work for the autism bloggers badge. The page has no place for comments. I wanted to put I am blogging for autism awareness, but not sure how to get my info there as no links for email address. Here is the blog - http://autismfamiily.blogspot.com - Autism Family Adventures. Single parenting two boys on opposite ends of the spectrum.
- Bonnie Sayers
I started an autism sucks community blog and it is open to anyone who deals with autism parenting/ grandparenting/ sibling... check out this post about submissions http://casadecruz.blogspot.com/2008...
Very cool! After all of the mean comments people have been posting about our community in the blogosphere, I'm about ready to launch a "people who have a problem with families that are dealing with autism suck" site.

For anyone who wants their child to EAT what you give them (Ha!) try the Baby Gourmet or Food Safari dvd's. They work, particularly well for children with autism. My child always spit out lettuce.. watched a DVD once... ate lettuce for the first time and still eats it. They work! A Godsend! - http://www.yumyumstudios.com
Really upset and irritated by an incident at my son's school today. Rather it was the straw that broke the camels back. I hate confrontation, but going to have to do it. Just wondering what level I need to go to or to just address the person directly. Ugh.
So sorry to hear that! Whatever you do, keep a paper trail (notes of conversations, letters & emails when you can). Good luck!
- wheresthebox
I know what you mean. I had to file a complaint with our state board of education about an incident pertaining to our school district. It's ALWAYS something.
- Michelle McDaniels
thanks for the feedback. It is good to post all ideas in one place for future reference
- Bonnie Sayers
Hi Bonnie. Thank you for the greeting. I haven't officially joined Foggyrock, but I am impressed by the features on the site am planning to. Do you know of a national buddy type program for kids and teens with autism? My older daughter is minimally verbal and making friends is a challenge for her. I tried Best Buddies, but their programs won't work for her because her school doesn't have a chapter and she is too young for their citizens program.
- Michelle McDaniels
I also looked into Best Buddies and not in many schools here in Los Angeles.
- Bonnie Sayers
Hi Bonnie! I've added your Bella site to my resources list.
- Michelle McDaniels
I'm going to be writing up an autism reads tomorrow to post on my blog (which is now located at motherofconfusion.com. last jump, i promise!) If you have any suggestions, link me :)
Didn't get to it this morning - so tomorrow will try again. Did add widgets and buttons for the new BlogNetNews.com autism page though.
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
They look great. Although I don't have a problem with the ribbon, I am using the blue one just so it is more universal (and I think it is pretty).
- wheresthebox
Thanks, I'm partial to blue in all things lol. Switched to a totally new platform so it's taken me some learning and getting used to it. I do love Wordpress - was easy to install. The rest is fine tuning (like getting my header to link to the home page!) So some of the pages are slow going up and are in mid-thought.
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
That's interesting, I have been a little scared of Wordpress - maybe someday I will take the plunge.
- wheresthebox
If you ever do want to take the plunge and host it - I'd be more than happy to help share what I know. :)
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Sorry I havent been around yikes. I also dont mind the ribbon but I like the idea of the blue one better. I still like the puzzle piece. Only because if I am in public people relate to the puzzle piece the most. Genevieve its ok a girl needs to make things pretty once in awhile. Got to change it up. Try on a new pair of shoes :)
- Lisa~The Stimming Spot
Oh I lurveeee new shoes. ;) Hey Lisa, are you on the list for autism bloggers on various social networks? http://www.motherofconfusion.com/blogger... I'm not good with names (many of us have various ones on the different systems too). If you're not on that and would like to be, let me know and I'll add.
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Hi Genevieve.I am on the blogroll from the april autism blogger.I just put the link to this page up on my blog.Hoping to bring in more bloggers here.I think blogging is wonderful but back and forth talk is a wonderful way to support one another.I have to admit I really stink at remembering names as well!Have a marvy day all:)
- Lisa~The Stimming Spot
Have you seen the new BlogNetNews.com/autism section? I've created a new button for the year (instead of just april) and will add you to the list of other stuff. I'll put up a link to this room as wel - great idea!
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Added the friendfeed autism room to the list and the autism bloggers section on my right rail. :)
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Genevieve I have a question. I have the blognetnews.com/autism badge up. I notice when I am on the page and I go through the blogs. The posts are from the blogs. I enjoy this. But I would like to be able to link to the personal blogs as well. Is there a way to do this? I had the bloggroll up on my page but took it down thinking the new blognetnews.com/ would offer this (oops)
- Lisa~The Stimming Spot
Hey there LIsa - no they don't but the blogroll still is available. I can email you the code if you like! Actually I had plans on making it available on the same page as the buttons for those who preferred that yet - I just won't be updating it with new bloggers. I'll try to post that tonight when I get home from work.
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Lisa I have script for you (blog roll) email me at gchoate@gmail.com I'll send it along!
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Genevieve thank you so much. I am sorry to be a pain. I actually went into your blog archive and got it. I freak out so easily I dont think. Then after time I think oh I can do that. I got to stop doing that lol. Thank you for being patient with me. I have a question. Is there a badge for this room so I can place it on my blog? Am I just not looking again ugh lol.
- Lisa~The Stimming Spot
Genevieve, you could link the Autism Sucks blog, for community exposure. http://autismsucksrocks.blogspot.com And I need your email so I can add you as an author, if you want. ANYONE who deals with autism as a parent/grandparent or family member is WELCOME to post! ~T.
- Tina
I don't have a badge for this room - but if Trish is for it I can make one. :)
- Genevieve (MotherofConfus
Hi everyone. I'm the proud mom of two preteen girls who have autism, and I am proud to be joining you. Please check out my blog when you have a moment. - http://autismassistance.blogspot.com/
HI there - just went to your post and commented on the post about foggy rock. I joined there early on and have to get back there soon. My id there is also autismfamily. Hope to connect with others from here over there.
- Bonnie Sayers
Hi everyone. Trish, thank you for the warm welcome and encouragement. Bonnie, thank you for the kind greeting. Please tell me if I should be commenting here or under one of your links. I didn't see a way to comment by clicking on your name. Since I am so new to Friendfeed, I am slowly finding my way around.
- Michelle McDaniels
I am commenting here too and finding my way around as well. My ASD site at BellaOnline has no spot for comments and I started a blog for that reason and to get more exposure to the blogging arena.
