The Bilson family is like many other families: three kids, a cat, and a small, lovely home with lots of family photos and carved wooden wall signs with sayings like "Live, Laugh, Love."

"I am tuning in for the three days as this sounds similar to my 12 yr old son and like to see stories with help and guidance for me to try."

"I placed an ad in craigslist last Sat looking to help any autism families in their fire forum. I am in Los Angeles and the only responses I got were from media asking me If anyone responded. Most of those ads had no response. I tried calling 211, american red cross in hopes of getting something on their bulletin board and even went to two autism orgs to see if any msg or note online and nothing. How did this story get to CNN and the toy company get notified? Why were they not asking for help from local people instead of going to CNN?"

An analysis of data from three states suggests that counties with higher precipitation levels also have higher autism rates, researchers report today.

can you also add me to plurk, friend feed and stumbleupon (autismfamily) is ID all over. If you add Digg I am there also. Thanks
- Bonnie Sayers
Hi Genevieve! Can you add me to the Twitter and Friendfeed lists when you have a moment? http://twitter.com/elizbet... and ElizabethChannel on Friendfeed. Thanks so much! I'm excited about reading all this!
- Elizabeth Channel
I am Trish (wheresthebox) on FriendFeed and WherestheBox on StumbleUpon if you want to add those. BTW, I have to activate comments on each post for 5MFSN and I have to scroll down to a little section called Comments & Pings to checkmark the box for comments. Don't know if it is the same on the version you are using.
- wheresthebox
Not that I really want to know, but what is Jaiku?
- wheresthebox
OK, I think I got them all. As for Jaiku, not sure. Assume it's another micro-blogging service. ;)

Does this also work for the autism bloggers badge. The page has no place for comments. I wanted to put I am blogging for autism awareness, but not sure how to get my info there as no links for email address. Here is the blog - http://autismfamiily.blogspot.com - Autism Family Adventures. Single parenting two boys on opposite ends of the spectrum.

For anyone who wants their child to EAT what you give them (Ha!) try the Baby Gourmet or Food Safari dvd's. They work, particularly well for children with autism. My child always spit out lettuce.. watched a DVD once... ate lettuce for the first time and still eats it. They work! A Godsend! - http://www.yumyumstudios.com
thanks for the feedback. It is good to post all ideas in one place for future reference

Hi Bonnie. Thank you for the greeting. I haven't officially joined Foggyrock, but I am impressed by the features on the site am planning to. Do you know of a national buddy type program for kids and teens with autism? My older daughter is minimally verbal and making friends is a challenge for her. I tried Best Buddies, but their programs won't work for her because her school doesn't have a chapter and she is too young for their citizens program.
- Michelle McDaniels
I also looked into Best Buddies and not in many schools here in Los Angeles.
- Bonnie Sayers
Hi Bonnie! I've added your Bella site to my resources list.

Hi everyone. I'm the proud mom of two preteen girls who have autism, and I am proud to be joining you. Please check out my blog when you have a moment. - http://autismassistance.blogspot.com/
HI there - just went to your post and commented on the post about foggy rock. I joined there early on and have to get back there soon. My id there is also autismfamily. Hope to connect with others from here over there.
- Bonnie Sayers
Hi everyone. Trish, thank you for the warm welcome and encouragement. Bonnie, thank you for the kind greeting. Please tell me if I should be commenting here or under one of your links. I didn't see a way to comment by clicking on your name. Since I am so new to Friendfeed, I am slowly finding my way around.
- Michelle McDaniels
I am commenting here too and finding my way around as well. My ASD site at BellaOnline has no spot for comments and I started a blog for that reason and to get more exposure to the blogging arena.
- Bonnie Sayers
I am now following you. I tried to twitter @ you but the site gave me an error! Twitter is a bit less than reliable these days. I am wheresthebox on twitter.
- wheresthebox
it looks like you have not yet started at the site. Hope you find some time to give it a shot. I am in Los Angeles.

I like how they used the stims during Floortime to create a positive interaction.

Oops, pushed enter before I was done! I am curious about the time frame of all the incidents with the teachers and aides in his classroom - I worry about things like this happening to my son and how people decide when to go up the chain with the district or just pull them out altogether. I hope things are going well now for all of your sakes.
- wheresthebox
thanks. we have new aide, a male as of March and going into Middle school in the fall and taking bus for first time. Lots of transitions coming up and I need to write more on it at a few places.
- Bonnie Sayers
I haven't made a room badge yet (feel free Genevieve if you still want to!), but I did put a link to this room on my site with the feed. It is in the footer of my page if you want to see it.

I'd love for everyone to keep sharing some of their own posts and other autism related links that are of interest. Maybe we can all help each other keep up with what's going on and get the creative juices flowing!
- wheresthebox
I just joined that Mixx site that I found from your page and a posting.
- Bonnie Sayers
Thank you for the warm welcome. I am glad to be here!

Wrightslaw (special education advocacy site) now has a blog and a place to ask or answer questions. This is such a great resource!
- wheresthebox
I agree about them. I have all newsletters in a folder at one email address and got their books and a due process DVD I need to watch and review.

There is a new section on BlogNetNews for autism - it includes many bloggers, from a variety of perspectives, who were involved in raising awareness during April.
