No seriously, it's not even right how awesome this is. there is no more awesome left in the world because this has taken all of it. every last drop.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Heh. Going through best of the month and this popped up. And it is. Best. Of. The. Month!
- Jason Toney
Awww. I need to call my little shorty cousins.
- Derrick
So glad to hear it! I hope the others I know battling cancer right now can get some much needed reinforcement from this news...
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Funny! Well, you can apparently block the user who puts you on a list whose name you hate.
- Kathy Fitch
Jenna--there is a display of both the lists you follow and the lists that follow you. I'm at zero on the latter, and likely to remain so, so it's all academic to me, but blocking the user would apparently remove one's name from a "nerd" list. (Really, though, I think of "nerd" as a compliment.)
- Kathy Fitch
I read a write-up about the various features on Wave and assumed that some people had accounts. Not sure if they have invites to give to others
- Bindu Reddy
I'll add you to the invite list when I get in to the office.
- Adewale Oshineye
The invites are popular indeed. The interweb is a rave for Wave :)
- Amir
from iPod
Bindu, its quite good. Integration of applications is seemless. Have been testing on Chrome dev and stable builds.Multiple conversation display on the right hand navigation is a different experience.
- Amit Mehta
Anyone here testing the server given by Stoyan? I've just created an account. I'm Brome on it.
- Brome
Stoyan--awesome! Love your warning about the analytics, too! Might give that a whirl tomorrow. Thanks!
- Kathy Fitch
@Brome - I wasn't impressed with their own test deployment of PyGoWave, initially (although I don't have any contacts on it). Google released their own initial version of a server recently, although installation and configuration is a case of "Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here" so I've discovered. Feed free to add me on PGM though (vmlemon).
- Tyson Key
Can someone send me an invite, please.... Micahkilgore@gmail.com
- micah kilgore
If anybody has a spare invite could you send it my way daryl@learnscapepro.com :)
- Daryl Hunt on FF
I like the sound and good song. Did the guitarist mix it? Personally, i'd like the vocals to stand out more and the guitar just a tad less in areas but i like it. Very nice. /grats
- ·[▪_▪]·
yeah we mixed/mastered ourselves... I agree - the vocals as a whole could be a little more present. getting them to be up front without "hearing the mic" is a tough balance.
- Nathan Chase
nice song, so re: the tech - you ended up w/ enclosure generated by postero.us then reshared to your main feed, that produced the playbar?
- mike "glemak" dunn
@Mike - that's correct. I imported the postero.us as a service to a private FriendFeed group, and reshared the imported post to my Home feed
- Nathan Chase
vocals to the front, guitars to the back, and a great track you have there.
- Marcos Marado
Here's us playing it live at a recent gig: http://friendfeed.com/nathanc... - it was shot using Qik on an iPhone to stream it live, so sound/video quality isn't the best.
- Nathan Chase
Needs more cowbell. But quite good even without. =)
- ronin
Awesome, when you make it big time maybe layer more guitar tracks on top, but what do i know, you're the musician. PS peeps song keeps getting better as it goes.
- Steve C
thanks Steve - yeah, we only have the single guitarist, so we just tried to capture what we pull of live, with a bit more polish. Glad you like the track!
- Nathan Chase
Dude, this is your band? I stumbled on them today completely unrelated and by accident. Strange days... great band. I love both tracks, want more, will pay ;)
- Michael W. May
You're not going to believe this, but I didn't get a chance to hear this when you posted it, and then MWM linked me to the band's MySpace, and I just started randomly listening and was like, hey, great drum work. I SWEAR I thought that before I even looked at the people in the band and realized it was your band! I really like your sound.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Love the intro (guitar is fun). Drums great throughout. Please let me know where to find a website or something for your band, Nathan! This is just up my alley!
- Chieze Okoye
Michael & Jandy - wow! that's awesome! :) How did you come across the band, Michael?
- Nathan Chase
I don't know *piss-poor memory* :P It may have been via Cherrypeel, as I was going through emails earlier of sites I've signed up for but had forgotten about. But I cannot recall for certain.
- Michael W. May
Yeah, Cherrypeel might be it. That's really the only other place other than MySpace and Facebook that we have songs up online.
- Nathan Chase
It could have been Myspace, but I don't see what would have led me to your page. I did end up there, though *points to friend request and blog sub*
- Michael W. May
Also just sent a Friend Request. Oh, the other thing I thought seeing the MySpace page? Wow, a MySpace page that doesn't suck! ;)
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Nice! Yeah, wanted it to be something different when you first see it. Also tried to keep it as simple as we could (simple for a MySpace page, anyway)
- Nathan Chase
from IM
I have 25 YouTube real-time invites for anyone interested: **UPDATE** YouTube only allows to send invites to friends, so you must send me a friend request first: http://www.youtube.com/kevinaw....
Your welcome Kathy!.. You should also have 25 invites to pass out..
- Kevin Whalen
Ah, I see--how fun. Reminds me of the days of passing out gmail invitations! So, now I just need to work on building a base of friends for my new page, there. Way cool.
- Kathy Fitch
I sent a request. Hope you still have one.
- Ryan Dadey
If Kevin runs out, I'd sure be happy to follow his lead and share the wealth!
- Kathy Fitch
I'd like one....I just friended you Kevin...as well as Kathy for good measure :)
- Mark Krynsky
Jim, I sent you one, as well. Play it forward, all! I'm off to sleep (perchance to dream). Lots left, so don't hesitate to friend me there if you need one, too. Email not needed. Just friend AxisPortals (or whoever else is playing it forward), and then the invite is a snap to send. Night, everyone! Kevin, thanks again for getting this rolling. Fun!
- Kathy Fitch
thank you sir, if anyone is looking for invites hit me...
- Dobromir Hadzhiev
cool i added you as a friend, im heyddn
- Darren Heydon
My shares already come to FriendFeed, as you know, and I won't be sending them to any other network (until forced). But appreciate the how-to.
- Louis Gray
Is there a keyboard shortcut for the new "send to" feature in Google Reader?
- Jesse Stay
Does this speed up the transfer? I've noticed the past 2 days have been a little laggy getting here.
- Courtney Engle
So when I using this method try to "send to" Ff - It takes me to FF and just pastes the URL of that feed item into a posting box. Is that proper behavior?
- Matthew DeVries
Yep. Similar to the behavior with other engines. You can then add other rooms etc (something not possible with regular sharing AFAIK)
- Deepak Singh
Wonder if there is a way to get it to open and drop it into the bookmarklet instead of Ff proper.
- Matthew DeVries
So what is the code to send it to a particular room? If I wanted it to flow in the public FF I would just click 'share'.
- Paul Arterburn
Whoa, sharing to a particular room would be epic :) Would probably have to create a shortcut code for each room instead of multiple rooms...
- Zulema ◕ ◡ ◕
Ya, I really just have one group for this - public share or private share among close friends (private FF room). That would also let me DM the link to a FF user if I wanted a *really* private share.
- Paul Arterburn
AFAIK sending to a Room is a bit painful. I tag the item in GReader. Then subscribe to that tag's RSS in the FreindFeed Room. A little laborious to set up, but quick when sending - you just tag. And wtih GReader's pubsubhubhub they show up in Room immediately.
- Nick in Manila
I've been spending more time with it, too--still not really *using,* but poking around and playing and thinking about how and why I might use it more.
- Kathy Fitch
Maybe, soon it won't matter where we are. We can all just talk to each other from where-ever. Now, if I could just post a picture from here...
- Kimber Scott
i played with that allot today/yesterday, and i think it recieves pics but no posting pics out, :(
- chaz2b
It's all good until you say OMG out loud, and say it *as* "oh-em-gee." My son and I have both done that. We always just look at each other and laugh.

"A 34-YEAR-OLD woman, the mother of a 12-year-old girl, has been locked up in a Virginia jail for three weeks and could remain there for at least another month. Her crime? Blogging about the police. Elisha Strom, who appears unable to make the $750 bail, was arrested outside Charlottesville on July 16 when police raided her house, confiscating notebooks, computers and camera equipment. Although the Charlottesville police chief, Timothy J. Longo Sr., had previously written to Ms. Strom warning her that her blog posts were interfering with the work of a local drug enforcement task force, she was not charged with obstruction of justice or any similar offense. Rather, she was indicted on a single count of identifying a police officer with intent to harass, a felony under state law."
- Thomas Hawk
from Bookmarklet
Not the first blogger this has happened to. That guy in Arizona still hasn't gotten his computers and stuff back, AFAIK.
- Admiral Anika
She wasn't arrested for expressing a constitutionally-protected opinion, or for peacefully protesting real (or imagined) police abuses. No, she's in the graybar hotel for posting the name and address of a police officer, with a street-level photograph of his house. Turns out Virginia law makes a felony of 'identification with intent to harass'. I imagine this law was intended to prevent anti-abortion protesters from posting names & addresses of doctors, but it certainly seems applicable here.
- Pat Rice
Not all bloggers are bright and this is one example. If what I am reading is true, that sort of stunt does not help anyone in any way.
- Lester Greenberg
That is *exactly* why FF will become more mainstream than twitter.. try explaining how to tweet to your parents (who are finally comfortable with email)!

"Emily Hagins is making a zombie movie. It’s feature-length, it’s bloody, and the zombies don’t run—just like it should be. But there’s just one difference between her film and every other zombie movie you’ve ever seen: Emily is twelve. ZOMBIE GIRL: THE MOVIE is the documentary that chronicles the making of her film. Most twelve-year-olds are busy with friends, homework, and online chatting. So is Emily, but she’s also part of a new generation of teenagers raised on technology and expressing themselves through video. Only—she’s doing it on a feature-length scale!"

"With the help of her mother as agent, crew, and biggest fan, Emily launches an epic adventure in genre filmmaking, battling everything from budget shortfalls to self-doubt, all while coming of age as a teenager. Emily has the vision and her mom has the driver’s license. Together, their journey is a fascinating look at a growing world of young moviemakers and the bloodiest mother/daughter story you’ve ever seen. "
- Michael W. May
Awesome kid, awesome parents. Love it.
- Kathy Fitch
I updated the post to reflect Hulu availability. So, US viewers might want the slightly better HDness of that.
- Michael W. May
very kool! marked it for later viewing. thanks michael!
