This is the mellow half of his personality. The other half is a laugh riot, the kid is a born entertainer, and cool as a cucumber. As the title of the post attests.

And it's a shame that he's not cute at all. Unhappy and unattractive ... what a horrible combination. Ask Melly, she has to deal with it with Emily.
- Kristin
He's turning into such a sweet little boy. He has a devilish streak, but he's so affectionate and warm. He really is just an amazing little person.

WARNING labels could soon be required on Bonjela and other infant teething gels detailing the dangers of their overuse.

The label already CLEARLY says not to use it more often than every three hours, and to only use a small amount (enough to cover the tip of your index finger) - how much clearer do labels need to be?

I don't have ovaries, but I do want to say, "Awwwhhhhhh!"
- CarlC
I love that this is how I spend my billable hours. Then I go home. :D It's just enough to keep my ovaries in check. And my triceps & lats toned. ;)

"Many health experts recommend that you feed your baby only free-range, organic proteins." - which I'd be more than happy to do if they were more widely available... and if I could afford them!

Jax is apparently having some bad dreams about the Little Blue Truck from this book getting stuck in the mud. He loves this book and we read it every night. He's woken up twice tonight saying "stuck, stuck" and crying.
Thanks! I really like it. It started out as muffin, then just came out as muffuletta one day. Must have been hungry and thinking about New Orleans....

When it comes to names, everybody's got an opinion. But while figuring out what names people like is pretty simple -- the U.S. Social Security Administration keeps a list of the most popular baby names each year -- figuring out what people hate is trickier.
- Jackie
yup. in extreme cases we dosed conservatively with infant liquid Acetaminophen. i think that stuff has been pulled from the market, tho. otherwise, chilled teething rings and cuddling.
- Joe The Sausage
He didn't sleep much last night, just sat in his crib most of the night, I think. And he's not feeling like eating, but was finally able to get some cold milk down; I'm sure the coldness helped. We need to pick up some baby Motrin.
- Andy Bakun
You can get a topic analgesic which may applied to the gums. There is less systemic delivery under that scenario. Avoid acetaminophen, tylenol as it depletes hepatic stores of glutathione.
- Thangorodrim
Just kidding. Snacks. Juice and water. Laptops and power supplies. Books. CDs. I probably ate more of the snacks and drank more of the juice than Rochelle did. Once she was in the zone (using Hypnobabies!), I had to pretty much force her to drink and eat a little bit here and there. This will all, of course, depend on whether you're doing a natural child birth or if you're being induced, getting an epidural, etc.
- Akiva
I have no idea. I just thought it was a funny idea to pack heat to a birth.
- Akiva
With Audrey, I brought a ton of crap that I didn't need. I think the only thing I used was my own clothes (I didn't want to wear a hospital gown at all so I brought my own comfy clothes), my phone, and basic toiletries (toothbrush, hairbrush, etc.). Plus clothes for Audrey. With Toby, I think the only thing I had with me was my wallet, since I didn't have him in a hospital.
- Rochelle
Oh, yeah, good point: definitely have a special outfit for your child to come home in and then save it. It's one of the best keepsakes you can possibly come away from a birth with. Well, other than the child itself, of course.
- Akiva
I had to bring a ponytail holder or headband because my hair was so long.
- Elena
Should I bother with a swimming top for the shower? Or will I just not care if I'm nekkid?
- ☆ Mellyboo ☆
By that time, you won't even care who sees what.
- Gabrielle
Melly, that's up to you! I'm a conservative dresser and there's no way I would have ever gotten naked during my births. I wore clothes the entire time with both kids.
- Rochelle
Ummm... Melly.... Didn't YOU already have a baby? :)
- Johnny

Johnny, I was wondering the same thing.
- Anne Bouey
I had an elective c-section with Josiah so I never experienced labour!
- ☆ Mellyboo ☆
I didn't bring anything to the first one because I was at work and just walked downstairs to the maternity unit. For the others I just brought bedclothes, toiletries, baby clothes, and a book. Oh, bring a nursing bra and nightgown if you are planning to nurse.
- Anne Bouey
as a dad: books, a pillow, underpants, water, medications, mobile phone, nylon cord
- Joe The Sausage
We didn't have a labour/birth bag. We were going to put one together a month or so in advance of the due date, but, because of complications, the baby was born six weeks early.

Jealous! Toby apparently went to the Louis Gray School of No Sleep.
- Rochelle
+1 Rahsheen - My thoughts exactly! What is this Louis character teaching this next generation? Next thing you'll tell me is that he curates all the world's news to them so they don't have to....
- manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Toby needs to visit our house. He needs some training!
- Louis Gray
Missed this the first time around. Congrats - especially if it's happened again!
- Auntie Buttinsky Botts
My heart just went POP! I want to cuddle and love this adorable babby!
- aden {Chickadee}
Aden, you may not want to. If you look closely at the first two photos you can see the squash smeared on her forehead and I guarantee her hands aren't super clean either! :)
- Rachel Lea Fox
I think I can handle some babby germs and squash for that kid :D These pictures turned out really cute by the way. Having fun with the lens?
- aden {Chickadee}
I am! It's super fun and I'm getting some fun shots! And you are right she is worth the grim... but I still prefer her un-grimed! :)
