Hmmm, if we could please have email notifications on groups, I could set one up to replace my Yahoo Groups email list I admin with my old games industry chums and also optionally give us a more richer service (if they decide to visit the site).
One problem though, sometimes we attach images to replies (in FriendFeed's case 'comments'). So ideally on the email notification alone it would be nice to have any image links in the comments appear as a image in the email. ALso for it to work in Gmail at least, we would need to see the whole thread, my own comments and all. #betakoltag-sg-groups
- Kol Tregaskes
I think my friends would stick with the email but optionally it gives us access to sharing images, etc.
- Kol Tregaskes
that's a great idea. I would find it useful too for a group list I administer for my college.

Ah cool. It mainly benefits me as it brings yet another thing into FF but the guys *might* like it too. I'm recruiting new users everywhere I can. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Nicholas, yep but so would they and I'd barely get them on FF yet alone getting them setting up lists etc. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Haha, they probably wouldn't know so I probably could get away with it. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
This would help with people who are used to using mailing lists, like Yahoo Groups and perhaps would give FriendFeed another target audience.

any movie with a twist ending is never as good the second time around - Saw, Sixth Sense, Seven, Fight Club - they're all still great movies, but nothing compares to that first time having your mind blown by a plot shift so significant...
- Nathan Chase
Independence day. I never liked any of the older Batman movies.
- Michael Fidler
The first time I saw The Matrix Reloaded it blew my mind. Only on a second and third viewing did I realize that it had no plot whatsoever!

"Is it not true that inconsiderate use of creation begins where God is marginalized or also where is existence is denied? If the human creature’s relationship with the Creator weakens, matter is reduced to egoistic possession, man becomes the “final authority,” and the objective of existence is reduced to a feverish race to possess the most possible."

"feverish race to possess the most possible". That's real precious coming from the chief proselytizer.

1) Go to the random number generator http://www.random.org 2) Get a number between 1 and 100,000. 3) Paste the number into Google Images. What's the first image you get?
wouldn't use it they charged... the majority of you wouldn't have either... you say you would now.. but if they had asked, most of you would kick off....
- Rob Sellen :o)
Ronin for sure, follwoed closely by the fight/chase scene in Matrix Revolution.
- Anika
Surprisingly, for someone who likes car chases, I don't recall them too well. The most recent ones that come to mind are the racing scenes in Fast & Furious and the freeway attack/kidnapping in The Kingdom
- LANjackal
I'm being serious here, but BAD BOYS 2 has the single best car chase scene, takes place on the bridge.
- Roger @ CineVegas
Ronin followed by the original Italian Job (http://www.youtube.com/watch...) Something about mini coopers jumping from rooftop to rooftop that is just awesome :)
- Robert DeBord
Sorry, but you're all wrong :). This is the best car chase ever shot http://www.youtube.com/watch.... 9 minutes, one single take, no speeding up, no special effects, no blocked street, excessively dangerous and perfectly illegal. It's also an amazing tour of Paris. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... for more.
- Jérôme
every time this question comes up, i am the only person who mentions the jetcar/bike chase at the end of "THX-1138." :-)
- Karim
another vote for Ronin... either one of the 2 car chase scenes in that one edge out French Connection.
- Vicarbott
If you didn't click my link, Jeremy Clarkson said C'était un Rendez-vous "makes Bullitt look like a cartoon". Now, go watch it and let me know your new opinion :) http://www.youtube.com/watch...
- Jérôme
Cool vid. Seen it before and still contend French Connection best, if only because of its back-story.
- Moody (Sweet FA 4 Life)
one expects the driver to get out of the car at the end of "C'était un Rendez-vous" and pull some dead pigeons out of the radiator grille. :-D
- Karim
yeah Matrix Reloaded, Ronin, and Bourne series all have some excellent chases. I haven't seen Bullit or French Connection YET. Hear good things.
- Nathan Chase
While 'C'etait un Rendez vous' isn't strictly a movie chase scene, it's a great drive. My vote is for Ronin though. It's pretty much what you think of when you think of modern car chases.
- Will Higgins™
I hate to say this because the movie itself is absolutely terrible but.. The scene in Bad Boys where the cars are flipping over the Ferrari.. OMGWTFBBQ.. I think CGI is the way to go with car chases..
- Can Koklu
French Connection, Ronin, Bourne movie had a decent one.
- David J Lowe
The Bourne Identity had the best one IMHO, though the one in Bourne Supremacy came close to beating it. Ronin was fantastic too. Michael Bay puts together some entertaining ones, even if they are over the top - the chases in The Rock, Bad Boys, and Bad Boys 2 are definitely fun to watch.
- Eric P
The Dark Knight "prisoner transport" chase was pretty awesome.
- Steve Lynch
from twhirl
The chase scene from Bullit is great. The chase scene with the crane smashing through buildings from Terminator 3 is a fave as well.
- Jeremy Brooks
Great thread, gonna have to go back and watch a few movies. By the way, the horse chase in first Lord of the Rings was quite good :)
- JCunwired
Blues Brothers hands down. Winnebago in a lake, police car lands INSIDE a semi, 20+ police car pile-up, army helicopters, nazis, what else do you need?!
- Peter Ghosh
Blues Brothers & French Connection are tied in my mind for best, but I love the chase scene in "Day Watch" as well.
- Jennifer Dittrich
So which Ronin chase is better, the Audi / Citroen / Mercedes chase or the BMW / Peugeot one later in the movie?
- Andrew Leyden
Depends on what u mean by fight. King Kong vs. the T Rex in peter jacksons remake was an amazing scene.
- Shauns
from iPhone
The ladder fight in Once Upon a Time in China and Neo vs Agent Smith X100 in Matrix 2 are both great fights but Ong-Bak has the best fight scenes i have ever seen.
- Steve
I would have said the Matrix, but the scenes were just too CGI. I would say the Bourne Trilogy again for some intense action. Special mention to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Hero.
- travispuk
from iPhone
The Bourne movies. Amazing tension for two straight hours. You feel drained, and that music! To die for!
- Rick Cogley
maximum risk, jean claude van damme vs russian guy at sauna
- رامین
For me it's probably Ong Bak. Crows Zero has some great scenes too (not so far from that corridor scene from Old Boy).
- Brome
Correction "Kiss OF the Dragon" ;) and yes, all the fight scenes in that movie are amazing. Li doesn't use a firearm in a single scene

The ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA movies. Jet Li without the Hollywood speed bumps for four movies. Teh awesomesauce.

Jet Li's FIST OF LEGEND, Jackie Chan's POLICE STORY, Tony Jaa's ONG-BAK.
- cdogzilla | downgraded
Drunken Master 2 (Jackie vs 5, Jackie & Lau Kar-Leung vs 100 in the restaurant). The Protector has an unbelievable 4 minute single shot where Tony Jaa runs up a large building, kicking tremendous ass along the way, and there's those three one-on-ones he has as well. SPL doesn't have a lot of fight scenes, but Donnie Yen vs Jing Wu is outstanding. The Cowboy Bebop movie has some...

If you're going to include the Matrix lobby scene, you might include a few other gunfight scenes - The Killer, Hard Boiled, Shoot 'Em Up.
- Andrew C (✓)
Michael Curtiz's Captain Blood (1935). He also directed the Adventures of Robin Hood and Casablanca.
- Zach Landes
IDK i think if we are going on raw fighting film talent Bruce Lee is pretty epic. Bourne really has a lot more to do with the filming of the sequences that enhance the feeling of the action.
- Geoff Schultz {TF}
The Matrix, Kill Bill, 300 and House of Flying Daggers (the bamboo fight sequence was brilliant)!
- Frank Da Silva
Jet Li's 'Kiss of the Dragon' is one of my modern favorites. I've heard that they actually had to slow down the footage, because Li was simply too fast.
- Will Higgins™
FIST OF LEGEND with Jet Li. Sorry, the others don't hold a candle to the final two sequences in this movie.
- Andrew Leyden
The Bourne Films for the striking realism and They Live for the sheer length of that scene. Honorable mention to Ong Bak
- Robert Davies
The greatest fight scene in movie history and it takes until this far into the comments for someone to identify it? Sheesh - The best scene ever is clearly the Sword Fighting scene in The Princess Bride. It's inconceivable that I'm the first one to mention it.
- Bill Rawlinson
i might be saying something i'm not supposed to say, in which case I'll come back here and exercise my FF "right" to delete it - but I saw a video a few months ago of a modern-day GG mounted within an SUV (probably USSS?) being fired at a testing range, and it was frighteningly awesome. i've seen the equipment in person before, but never in action. there's something about that.

Planning to switch back to Nokia, possibly the E55 or E52 once they have come out and the price has gone down a bit, possibly end of year or January

guruvan killed 330 threads! [35% kill rate] -gonna have to work at th 46% - there should be another number on this that weights murderous effect by the sheer number of comments. @Guru .. this is true. why not also supply an outright a plain list of strongest commenteurs, but please, exclude those "descriptions imported as comments" ........ well i have seen a thread in russian here with 4600 comments . so i do wonder, who will kill this one ? :]]]] upd:btw, this is 111th comment .. wonder who will make 222th .. hm, maybe its 112th

I like being a thread killer (sometimes). It means you see my comment all the time ;) If there was a conclusion to be made in the discussion, it seems the thread killer made it. If, on the other hand, the thread was just a conversation, and some boor just spews forth and kills it...well....
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I'm getting ready to listen to the Ffundercats podcast, and found this thread on the Ffundercats blog page. empoprises killed 326 threads! [32% kill rate] I figured it would be higher, but perhaps it doesn't count threads that I start - if those were included, my kill rate would be much higher.

So, it’s finally here. Your fingers tremble; you open the package with one hand and feverishly open the CD tray with the other. You gaze coldly, for one last time, at your original Vista box, now burning in the fireplace. Half an hour later, you’ve got your PC loaded with a fresh and clean copy of Windows 7. So, what do you do first? You fire up the internet to download some stuff…but wait - there’s no browser. No browser!? How the hell are you supposed to get an alternative browser - Firefox, Opera, any browser - without a browser?
