Yeah, I have mixed feelings as well about the new delicious. Not much increase in functionality, but certainly some added inconvenience. Why does V2 of so many online products feel like a step backwards? - Michael Nielsen
While I am glad they did something, since I work completely through the the firefox plugin and/or lijit, I barely notice. Not there are other things that Yahoo could do, more adventurous stuff, but they haven't gone that way. - Deepak

concerning the open data model, I would rephrase it as an Open data standard. That because I bet most of these sites don't use any closed / proprietary data formats or software -- I bet most use MySQL databases for storage and scripting for the front end, and that's how they get the web application together. the problem is that every site has a different MySQL schema in the backend, and different code to run the front-end. Porting data from one site to the other needs a standard / gluing data format, RDF? - Ntino
