Captain Bruce Dickinson walks down the stairs before getting going. We spent the 5 minute bus ride together. He loved Bangalore, but being a pilot missed not visiting Aero India. His advice to the Indian Air Force - buy the F-16IN SuperViper or the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet. - http://picasaweb.google.co.in/dev...
Iron Maiden may have their own standing and their own plane, but security check was not exempted. The entire group was very understanding. I am sure they felt safe. - http://picasaweb.google.co.in/dev...
Great read. Thanks for the link Udhay. It is imperative for India to appreciate that the Taliban are now less than 400km from the Jammu border. That is like Chennai Bangalore or Delhi Lucknow. How closer do these fanatics have to get before India realises it is too late.

"I really do not know how much was ATC's "culpability" in this particular case. It would be helpful to understand the inefficiency in the control procedures. I know the 2 minute separation is sometimes carried to extremes. But, I partly believe that ATC is being forced in to accepting more flights than they can handle, especially at Mumbai. Now wonder our hub airports of Mumbai and Delhi top the world in late arrivals. http://aviation.deveshagarwal.com/2009...... . This needs a special look, since these two airports in many ways dictate the traffic efficiency in the rest of the country."

"Emirates passed management control back, but they still retain a 43% stake in Sri Lankan. To the best of my knowledge they have not sold the stake yet. Tim Clark, Gary Chapman, and Nigel Hopkins still serve as Directors, as per SL's latest annual report. It was keeping this in mind, when I said, EK still had influence in UL."

"I do not want to deviate this thread away from its "essential travel items" focus, but sorry, the 88xx series was a poor model from RIM. Horrible keyboard and sky-high price. Which explains why the 83xx Curves are outselling the 88xx by such a large margin."
