On the footnote, I think Microsoft should simply release a branded version of Firefox (like Netscape did) and use it. They don't really get anywhere by developing IE, so they would save a lot of development costs, while still having a web browser. - Jake (aka Jawee) from twhirl

I think the browser as the window into all this new online applications has a huge value. If they close or not this window is a more strategic stance than a project decision. - robertocastro

Microsoft should release a new version of Windows with Firefox as the desktop. All our work is moving online. Might as well keep the browser as the desktop. - Rahul Das
