That film is a classic. Got it on DVD because it was so good.

I love that movie. I mean not only because it's got Helen in it but because it's, like, perfect.

We saw that when it was released, and when we rented it years later, it had been cut. A lot. Is there a full version out there now?

Also Captain Piccard and Liam Neeson are in it!

What I like about it is that it's essentially a horror movie yet no one realized it. Mann's The Keep is a perfect companion to it, really.

Or Professor Xavier and Qui-Gon Jin, as the kids today will call them.

The Keep is a brilliant film, too. Although when I rewatched it a few years ago it was marred by crappy sound ( only copy we could get was a terrible VHS copy).
- WoH: Professor MOTHRA
I never thought of it as a horror story, although it makes sense, more of a tragedy. The cinematography and the armor desgn are also amazing.

Wow I haven't seen that in years, I had no idea who Helen Mirren was back then. I think Madness of King George was when I first became aware of her, then I became a fan when she was doing the BBC mysteries...she's such a badass inspector :)

What is the secret of the Grail? Who does it serve?

When I first met Adrian, he used to quote Merlin's spell. I should have run away then. ;P I had no idea what he was talking about, then he showed me the movie. I fell in love. Lucky me, after months of searching, I just found our copy on Friday.

Luckily, Excalibur is on Blu-ray now. The Keep's still a tough one, unfortunately. I used to own an RPG based on it. I could have sworn that they were going to release a DVD/Blu-ray of a director's cut supervised by Mann but I might be wrong. Either way, The Keep is one of the most atmospheric horror movies outside of Jacob's Ladder. Great stuff.
