Not happening my friends. By the way, it's a good thing I didn't post the five-minute ESPN interview with this kid from this morning. Sheeh!

Smart move by LeBron. He will take a reputation hit for a couple days but better than to let a video of him getting owned
- beersage
@Beersage ...true, but I'd argue, this is a little tempest-in-a-teapot brewing here: first we have him storming off the court, not talking to anyone after the Magic booted his team from the playoffs -- i.e. sore loser; now this. It's just two incidents, but every illness starts with a single cell getting infected, and then it spreads. maybe, LeBron is just a human, and like everyone else, he can get got on some days.

If Colangelo somehow manages to add Delfino on top of everything else, he may be the best GM in Toronto this summer.
- Jed
I always liked delfino, if he can put it together he'll really be player, but he's always seemed like he's trying to do too much in his limited minutes.
- Richard Lawler
Agreed - the key word there was limited. I think he'd play a more major role on this roster as it stands. Like Turkoglu you can stick him anywhere - and there are plenty of roster holes to cover.
- Jed
"...The 6 point lead McDyess left with evaporated and the game was deadlocked heading into the 4th. Only, McDyess was still stapled to the bench. You'd have thought his removal in the 3rd was strictly done so he could come back aggressively to start the 4th. Incorrect. Larry Brown left him sitting there, unable to help his team win the title that he so desperately craved. Rasheed Wallace now played in his stead. The same Rasheed Wallace that had left Robert Horry alone at the end of Game 5 and would total exactly one rebound in this deciding contest. Duncan took over from there, either scoring or drawing double teams to allow for open 3's...."

This is one of the reasons I didn't ever want Wallace donning the black and silver, but think McDyess might be the real deal, the toughness that never quite materialized with Thomas the last 2 years.
- Shawn Kirsch
Free agent Rasheed Wallace has reached an agreement with the Boston Celtics, according to two newspapers. Wallace's agent Bill Strickland told the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe on Sunday that the forward, who spent the last six seasons with the Detroit Pistons, had asked him to call off meetings with the Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks.

The Celts get older with this acquisition. Is that a good thing? The move seems to indicate short-term thinking.
- Lyndon
I always thought Big Baby and Rondo could be future cornerstones of the franchise -- but now it looks like BB will be leaving
- Shey
Lyndon: I think short-term thinking is all they've got. I think Pierce has still got some miles left in him, but Jesus and KG haven't got forever, and once they're gone, the Celtics are right back to wondering who's gonna walk through the door.
- Roger Benningfield
Good signing. 3rd year is a bit much but it's the price you pay so that he doesn't talk to the other teams. Celts need to win now, espec. with Rondo being a (restricted?) free agent after the upcoming season.
- beersage
So, ummm, Memphis trades away Buckner, gets a future 2nd round pick, some cash considerations, and a likely to be cut Stackhouse. Once again, the Grizzlies come through with a gift, helping someone else in the west get better. Way to go Grizz.

The Toronto Raptors roster remake continues. The team will be losing both starting shooting guard Anthony Parker who is expected to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers according to league sources, while Shawn Marion will be signed and traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a deal that also includes Kris Humphries.

But a late development could pay significant dividend for the Raptors. Rather than sign Turkoglu outright Toronto will see him join the club by way of a sign-and-trade with the Orlando Magic that means Toronto will retain the ability to use the mid-level exception which gives them an additional $5.8-million (U.S.) to sign players this off-season, which could go a long way toward shoring up their depleted bench.
- Shey
Logic would have told me not to sign him for that much money, and for that term. But I would have signed him for that much money, and for that term.

I actually like the move, though the numbers hurt. It's a huge signing, and it'll definitely help the team in the short term. They must think the world of DeMar DeRozan to sacrifice three solid two/three players.
- Jed
I think this is a blessing in disguise for the Blazers though. They actually have young talent that'll be looking for pay-hikes in the years to come.
- Jed
...ESPN was reporting that Crawford wasn't wearing Nike kicks when the alleged posterization happened, and that's why they're slapping the embargo on it... well, OK. weak. OTOH, this is just another tiny story to add to the small, imperceptible pimple forming on LeBron's game face, you know, the "LeBron is a bad sport who stormed off the court after his team lost" blemish? He better treat that before it explodes to full-blown acne. .LOLz

Too bad no one was able to get out of there with footage. Can you imagine how much it would be worth?
- Bryan R. Adams
That was exactly my thought -- If I was taping the game, I'd be outta there in a second, and making copies! ;) Apparently Nike reps worked quick, though. They took the videos in less than 15 minutes. Ryne

I would have never thought to get out of there after I shot the stuff. It wouldn't have been a big deal in my mind. But since they have confiscated the tapes, it must have been a vicious one-hander.
- Bryan R. Adams
There had to be a dude with their cellphone or flipcam who got the footage.
- Bryan R. Adams
The Mavericks and Toronto Raptors, according to NBA front-office sources, are in advanced discussions on a sign-and-trade deal that would bring Marion to Dallas.

"Those monitoring the situation believe that Kahn did, in fact, throw a little gas on this fire by drafting Syracuse's Jonny Flynn five minutes after Rubio landed in his lap. The team's split in commitment to the two point guards, and its divvying of minutes, instantly became a concern. But it also gave the Wolves the perfect fallback plan, suspenders to a Rubio belt. They will have a highly prized rookie in their backcourt in 2009-10. They would prefer it to be Rubio. But for now, it's OK if it might be Flynn. "If it means we have to wait a year, we wait a year," Kahn has said repeatedly, trying to defuse things. "If we had to wait, God forbid, two years, he'd be 20 when he got here. The last thing we need to do is become overwrought today.""

The move comes as a surprise, given earlier comments on April 29 by Dumars. "The fact that we made so many changes for a first-year coach, I had to step back and be a little more patient than I have been," Dumars said. "During the season I said to myself, 'What affect is this having on him as a first-year coach.' I tried to put myself in his shoes."
