Roll call...this can be great if we all participate. Add yourself to this shared map. I created a placemark on the 2 major intersections near where I live.
- Mark Krynsky
Mo, I'm a newb to the shared maps stuff, but I turned on collaboration and allowed anyone to edit the map. There should be an edit button and then you can add a placemark.
- Mark Krynsky
Robert bought me a new house in the northern suburbs.
- Andrew Trinh
@Bec...nice. You are the first brave female on here.
- Mark Krynsky
Cool idea, Mark! I was thinking something like this would be fun the other day. Duly added myself - or at least the nearest big intersection. ;)
- Jandy
Mousing over the usernames shows your Google profile info...cool.
- Mark Krynsky
I marked a bus stop near my house. But not TOO near. :)
- Nine
If you haven't yet...go add FriendFeed to your Google Profile...it will then auto-discover and allow you to add a ton of other profiles you have.
- Mark Krynsky
Thanks for the profile tip - I hadn't updated it since I moved here!
- Jandy
Thanks guys. This is coming along nicely. It's great to have as a resource to see where everyone is from. Hopefully this can become a standard feature on FF one day.
- Mark Krynsky
Canterbury, Melbourne, Victoria added

Current count: 13 US, 11 Europe, 3 Australia, 1 Middle East. Happy to see many others add themselves overnight. Hoping more will continue this.
- Mark Krynsky
I've read the instruction and still don't see the button thing to add myself. I'm feeling pretty stupid right now.
-
@Jill, make sure you are logged into your Google account and then click on the edit button above the list of names already on the map. You will then see the pushpin in the upper left hand side of the map.
- Mark Krynsky
Added. Seems like there are a lot of us in the Bay Area...we must do a get together at some point.
- Neal "thePuck" Jansons
@Neal yea, we really need a FriendFeed meetup. I might be up there for Web 2.0 in March...or we can have one at SXSW if a large number of us are going. Let's plan and get the Upcoming page going.
- Mark Krynsky
@Mark Not gonna make SXSW, but am definitely down for working on an FF get together. March is long enough away to make sure plenty of people have time to plan ahead. I added you on Upcoming so we can start coordinating it. Anyone else interested/want to help set this up?
- Neal "thePuck" Jansons
Maybe we can talk Paul & Bret into letting us invade the FF offices for a meetup in conjunction with Web 2.0? That would be sooooo cool!
- Mark Krynsky
Pinned! sheesh this just cost me 1/2 hour of time as I scrolled thru all the folks :)
- bear (aka Mike Taylor)
Except for Bret, there are no FriendFeeders on the penninsula between San Jose and San Francisco. So much for Silicon Valley early adopters.
- Ryan Kuder
Cluelessness alert! I'm not seeing how to add my pushpin!
- Hutch Carpenter
For some reason whenever i use google maps in creation-mode, it defaults to some other maps I've used, not the one I'm trying to access - ah, figured it out. Had to de-activate some other collaborative maps
- anna sauce
Added. What a great way to see who's on FF in Austin, TX!
- Carter ♥ HTML5
Is that the latest from Google Labs?? Babies delivered by email? Great no more morning sickness, and mood swings! I'm sure it's still in beta...
- Daan
I did that, but I was heading vertical, school had a vaulted ceiling and I went running, stepped on a chair right were it dropped, on impact both shoes fell off, one hit a guy in the face.
- Jimminy, CoG of FF
wonder if that kid had aspirations of being a stunt guy... "dignity, always with dignity" ;)
- alphaxion
If I weren't afraid of going right through the wall, I'd probably still try that. I know I would have done that (and did similar things quite often) when I was much younger.
- Curdy G
This is still superb this morning after. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Defining the line between brave and stupid?
- Eoghann Irving
If I did that, first the wall would collapse, and then the floor. (So, you see, it's not that I *couldn't*... I just choose not to, for the protection of others.)
- Mark J Severely Corny
You're right. I don't have the guts...and I'm proud of that.
- Tammy Marshall
Joe Biden and Michelle Obama in the back set - very funny. Go, go, go, America. :)
- jan geronimo
I don't think Clinton is in the front seat with Obama. More like he's got her tied up in the trunk. But this is cute.
- Dawn
I saw this done with Arsenal players a little over a year ago. Exact same scene, just different heads (Wenger, Fabregas, Adebayor and RvP, IIRC).
- Uche Ogbuji
Cool, I'd go for the second option though, but I'm just a fan of nature pics so that's biased. The first will probably get you to stand out even slighlty more. (and yes, I expand to see the third option :)
- James Kuypers
Are these sweet or savory? They look like cinnamon rolls, but my mom used to make a sausage cheddar pinwheel that looked very similar as well. Now I kinda want some of each...
- FFing Enigma
These are cinnamon rolls, I took this pic while they were proofing. I will be investigating your sausage cheddar pinwheels as I prefer savory foods.
- Heather Solos
It's been a while since I've had them, but as I remember they're divine =) Make with a dough similar to cinnamon rolls but spread with browned sausage, shredded cheese, and whatever else strikes your fancy before rolling. If I were making them I'd probably add minced onion to the mix.
- FFing Enigma
I think for a savory version, I'd probably use the same dough as this version, but reduce the sugar. You've given me something fabulous about which to daydream, perhaps that will be my Fearless Friday recipe. . .
- Heather Solos
Definitely less sugar, but don't omit it completely: the touch of sweetness in the dough plays off the sausage very well (think sausage biscuit with a bit of jelly or maple syrup). If you make them I'd love to see pics so I can daydream about them as well =)
- FFing Enigma
That's exactly how I was thinking, that and the yeast needs something to nosh on, too.
- Heather Solos
I live in LA so I think Russell is probably right. There's a solid chance this could be the I-40 / I-25 interchange in Albuquerque as well though. :)
- Bryan Zirkel
I used to drive through this intersection twice a day when I worked in Norcurse.
- Dave Roth
Reno's spaghetti junction is like a kids ride compared to the outside world. As a child these interchanges represented Big City to this small town kid.
- Russellreno
I arrange my work schedule & errands so that I avoid all of the nastiest parts of Atlanta traffic. mostly.
- jbrotherlove
OMG that is SOOOO spaghetti junction. I miss driving on 285 late at night when you could sail all the turns with no traffic. So win.
- EricaJoy
I don't understand it at all. I was driving in ATL last summer and traffic everywhere and all the highways have at least six lanes in each direction. In NY, we're lucky to have 3 lanes.
- Bryan R. Adams
@Anika: Yup, they've called it speghetti junction as long as I can remember. @Bryan: Atlanta's a case study in proving that adding more lanes (past 3 or 4) does approximately squat in terms of making traffic any better. @Daniel: Atlanta's not too bad if you stay in the city, preferably near the train. The suburbs blow (I grew up in one). Still too damned hot, though.

The Woodstation is a unique weather station which can be hung from a wall or sat on the table and gives you a two-minute reading of barometric pressure, indoor relative temperature and indoor relative hygrometry data. When not in use the wood station looks like a plane block of wood but the weather data display fires up when any movement is detected in front of the station via a movement sensor. The display can be viewed even in direct sunlight and has large coloured icons showing sunny, partly cloudy, rainy, snowy and stormy conditions depending on the atmospheric conditions. Making it easy to decide whether you need your shades or an umbrella.

4. Wave is open-source (more on that below). If you want, you’ll be able to run Wave on your internal corporate network, without ever sending a single byte of data to Google.

5. You can run it on the cloud, thus reducing in-house IT costs.

they're missing the point - you can run it in house on cheapish infrastructure and keep copies of all your data and interactions - while still having potential access to the whole network's worth of interaction and information
