"I should be doing something else right now, but . . . . This a great post, to the point and well put. One simple change I have made is to stop using Firefox (or at least many of the 3rd party add-ons). I had so many bells and whistles going off, that to simply open my browser was to direct me to distraction. I use Safari almost exclusively (Mac and PC) - it loads and browses very quickly and I find the simplistic, minimal organization helpful in keeping me from chasing an on-line rabbit. If I'm going to Tweet on Twitter or browse FB, best for me to open a separate application or window, rather than have it ringing me up on my browser. I spend less time online that way. And then there is my iPhone. That's another issue. Thanks again for the post. OK, now back to . . ."

"Michael, thanks for this. I just glanced through PostRank. I am assuming it is the PostRank Analytics portion you are referring to (the $9.00 a month service)? Do you happen to use the PostRank subscription service? If so, how does it compare to Google Reader? Thanks for all of the great content. My recent post Tweets for 2009-12-05"

"It's inevitable. The video game junkie generation is beginng to take the reins of society. Everything can be reduced to a game. It's right up there with friends who tell me they play Wii for 'The exercise.' Puuleeze! However, church on the Wii makes we want to put a Wii on our Christmas list. Just don't tell anybody."

"Great Erick. Which questions would you mark as \"application\" questions? You have some good thinking questions and many that are tied directly discovering what the text says. Great job on these."

"Yeah, some of them are Mac only: Ecto, iWork, iMovie, & Pathfinder. But the others are apps I've used on both Windows and Mac. But, I must say, they are all a bit more fun when you do use them on a Mac :p"

You knew it was coming: to disagree with Obama's policies is to reveal racial hatred. The propaganda in this article is absolutely unbelievable.

"Jason, thanks for responding to this. What would you think are some of the necessary qualifications for a pastor that are not necessary for a church planter? I think you hit on something worth pursuing here. Why is the essential difference between a church planter and a pastor? I don't hold that Paul was necessarily a pastor (an apostle), nor was Timothy (an apostolic representative) - but they obviously planted churches. Just curious."

"Stephen, thanks for these comments. Carson's book is excellent. Whitney is a perfect beginning point and refreshing material to fuel not only a passion for prayer, but practical growth in prayer. I would be interested to know of any further details that you are developing as you are personally growing in prayer or leading your congregation to deeper prayer."

"Norma, I will be praying for you. It seems anytime we talk about the subject of prayer, we all tend to hang our heads. I've never met someone who didn't see need for greater improvement in their prayer life. I'm with you."

"Scott, do you think the lack of using LifeWay material is the only (or primary) reason why you guys are not good Southern Baptists? Just curious :p"

"Thanks Aunt Lynda. Glad to know the blog is helpful. I plan to post a bit from Revelation also. I took sever Precept training classes (three levels) and found it to be some of the most helpful training for people to get into the word for themselves."

"Hey Monty - I think often of those foundational days we spent at Hillcrest. My \"rural\" experience happened outside of Amarillo-a pretty rural area - especially back then. I never thought I would be out here - NEVER. But I love it. I'm humbled by the opportunities I've had and still have. Great to hear from you - how thankful I am to know you walking with the Lord so faithfully."

"I figured you would help me out. Umm, I may just have to lay blame at you feet. The problem is that Kelly knows me all too well-she'll never buy it."
