Whether it's the lasagna that soaks up that extra sauce or that cold pizza that's instantly gratifying, some meals are better the second time around. List your favorites. - today's Plinky question: http://www.plinky.com/prompts...

It was a great day when I first learned about miso ramen on Friendfeed. I'd loved ramen as a college student, but I'd gotten bored with it years ago. Posts like these have brought me back, and I am having fun trying to get it right.

Posterous can suck it. WTF is going on with the formating? EFF EMM ELL.
- Derrick
Great post Derrick--Thanks for saying something about Posterous' formating issues. I've been having all KINDS of trouble there. Thought I was just doing it wrong.
- Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Meh, whatever. I'll try to fix it later. Hopefully you can still read it and it makes sense.
- Derrick
Posterous usually involves you tweaking the HTML

I think the last hip-hop album I loved start to end may be Blackalicious' Nia. (so, wow, I have flaked on buying The Craft for four years now.) That's on me more than hip-hop, though.
- Andrew C
spelling fail :( I heard Trader Joes has them now too. Haven't been able to try them yet.
- Tamara
Thanks for pointing that out, Morgan. :(
- Derrick
just a spelling similarity. sorry for any unintended offense that some might take.
- Morgan Haley
Wow. I don't think commenting with an inappropriate slur is ever acceptable, even if the spelling is similar to something else.
- Rochelle
Y'know, though, Michel Richard calls these ganache sandwich cookies "macaroons" in his decidedly awesome cookbook.
- Andrew C
I don't know... while they probably should have gone with the french macaron, they probably went with the anglicized macaroon, because more people would recognize that word before macaron. Since they don't look like traditional macaroons, they will probably have people talking as well, and maybe even looking them up, to try and find out what they really are. Kind of like I just did... <3 wikipedia...

Heh, I stole some gum from Veruca Salt. In retrospect I think this was a bad idea, for I have turned into a giant blueberry.

I has that! I bought it last week. It's not the same...but not bad

Those jive-ass turkeys at Samy's camera wanted to charge me $18.99 to develop a roll of 24 exposure black and white! Oh and give me a PhotoCD! So for what it would of cost me to have the two rolls of Ilford HP5 done, I picked up a tank and the chemicals to develop the rolls at home. This will only get me negatives though, I'll still have to get the PhotoCD's from Walgreen's, which is ok by me as they are a mere dollar with a coupon through February. Stay tuned...

I want to fill one with raspberry iced tea and just walk down the street sippin' on it. Maybe throw in some overalls for good measure.
- Christopher Harley
I'm with Akiva, though I can't say it's not popular. But ya, damn, a gallon.
- Jason Wehmhoener
Pretty much, yeah. You can use it, and it's not bad, but you're selling your food and tongue short.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I grew up 90 miles from the Gulf coast and I still see plenty of Tabasco here and there. I haven't lived right on the water as a townie though - perhaps I've missed out.
- Daniel J. Pritchett
does tabasco sauce ever spoil? this might not be a bad investment.
- tiffany
For some reason, I really don't like Tabasco. It just tastes like vinegar to me. I will, however, put sriracha on just about anything.
- joey
My favorite Southern hot sauce is probably Red Rooster and/or Crystal's. That stuff is the business. I like sriracha alright, but not more than I do that stuff.
- Derrick
Hah, don't get me wrong; I'm just having a laugh here. I don't have anything against Tabasco and it's certainly prevalent down there. I was just raised on Crystal's and definitely prefer it. Hell, I'll drink Crystal's right from the bottle. (Okay, that's a lie (no it's not))
- Akiva Moskovitz
Melinda's is my favorite. Not super hot for a habanero sauce, but man is it delicious. :)
- mikepk
I'd take a gallon of the chipotle flavor. Otherwise, gimme Frank's
- ha3rvey (business time)
Red Hot, Ha3rvey? I'm down with that. WHY NO BODY MAKING ME NO CATFISH?
- Derrick
I know a great place for catfish, Derrick, but you'd have to get here first. Seriously: me, you, and an eating trip across the south. I got the time now!
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Dang, Derrick. We totally have to hang out next time I'm out that way. DO YOU GOT ANY BREAM?
- ha3rvey (business time)
I know what I'm gonna be getting my wife and father for Christmas now. Thanks Derrick!
- Give 'Em DBizness
I use Tapatio and Tabasco and sriracha depending on the meal but almost always use one of them with almost everything. for ejemplo, Tabasco on loco mocos, tapatio on buffalo wings, and sriracha on stir fry.

With a name like Grand Moff Tarkin band, I can just imagine lyrics to their ultimate song: "Fah when ready": *chun-chun-chun-chun chun-chun-chun-chun* You...you are far too trusting. // Dantooine's too far to show we're tough. // You...you just don't worry, bay-beh. // 'Cuz we will deal with your friends soon enouuuuuuuuuugh. YEAH YOU MAY FAH! (FAH!) FAH! (FAH!) FAH WHEN READY, YOU MAY...

Rough day today. My wife was having trouble swallowing last night. She got up early this morning and continued to feel like something was lodged in her throat. She went to the ER this morning and they told her she needed to drink a big Coke, hold it down and get a good belch going because she had food lodged in her throat (below her airway).
Says its up to 53F now, but I don't know. I'm skeptical.
- Derrick
its like 60+ here on LI NY.....I opened all the windows .......nice and fresh
- VAL D. Zone
Hello Derrick. It's 7 centigrade here, and dark and misty. it's like a 40s Sherlock Holms film!
- Pete
FYI, I'm not complaining. After multiple days of 105F this past summer up through September (and the terrible air quality due to the Station fire), I'll bask in this. Besides, I get to wear sweaters and hats.
- Derrick
Sunny and 33 in OKC, with a wind chill around 24. And no, not complaining here either. I look forward to this weather all summer!
- Kirsten
Yeah, a lot easier to deal with 45F than 105F.
- Alex Scoble
Not a fan of the fires (obviously), but I prefer the hot weather to the cold. It gets below about 60 and I just want to stay in bed and not deal with anything.

Today is a day long coming... A day of sadness... A day I want to just lock myself away and hide... but a day I know I can't, that's not what he would have wanted and not what he taught me how to operate... I'm so scared...
If he had a friend like you, I'm thinking that he was a quality man that is now in a much better place. Thoughts and prayers for all that knew and loved him.
- Morgan Haley
So sorry to hear this Johnny, my condolences. :(
- Charlotte M
Aww, fcuk, man, that's rough. When/if you're ready to talk about it, you know we'll be here, mate. If not, well...., you know we'll be here, mate. :-(
- Andrew Terry
Sorry to hear about it. You obviously held him in high regard. That's not always the case with bosses. Sincere condolences from half-a-world away.
- .LAG liked that
You guys are helping more than you ever will know :)
- Johnny Worthington
I'm so sorry, Johnny. It's great that you cared so much for your boss - or that you worked for someone you cared so much about, looked at another way. But that does make it harder now. {{hugs}}
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
No doubt he'd have been pleased to hear you held him in such high regard. Good thoughts during a hard time.
- Jack (a.k.a. Jeber)
Oh my gosh, Johnny. I just saw this. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you, your coworkers, and your boss's friends and family.
- Blackeyed P
My boss killed himself back in February. Didn't feel the same as you, TBH. Dude was a real PITA to deal with. Condolences anyway, sorry for your loss.
- LANjackal
Hugs to you and your family, Johnny. So sorry for your loss... :-(
- Lisa L. Seifert
Oh, Johnny, I just saw this now. I'm so sorry for this loss. The pain of it helps tell you that it's real; the friendship and the beauty of knowing and caring for someone deeply. My heart goes out to you.
- Micah Wittman
Sounds like a special guy, sorry to hear about the loss, buddy. :(
