My kidney function is not good & the docs are concerned. Could be from the antibiotics, and/or that contrast stuff I had to take for the CT scan, and/or my elevated glucose. A kidney specialist will be seeing me sometime today. It looks like I'll be here a couple more days at least.
I hope they get it sorted out quickly and that it isn't super serious, or at the least, is easily remedied. Feel better, soon! *hugs*

How to Cook Congee with Salted Pork & Century Egg, a Classic Hong Kong Rice Porridge | Hong Kong Food Blog with Recipes, Cooking Tips mostly on Chinese and Asian styles | Taste Hong Kong - http://www.tastehongkong.com/recipes...
"Making rice porridge is simple and easy – this is what I hope my reader who asked me for this recipe would think the same. I also hope this post would get you interested in making one and see the benefits of eating porridge aka congee, in case you are not familiar with it. A simple congee is a thick soup, usually creamy, made from boiling rice in water or stock. And, combining other ingredients in it for variations is nothing but an easy task."

"In congee shops here, if you are ordering this Congee with Salted Pork and Century Egg 皮蛋瘦肉粥, you might hear the waiter or waitress send your order to the open kitchen by shouting ‘Ha For 下火’, literally lowering fire. Nick-named such, because this savory rice soup is said to be able to tame body inflammation caused by eaten too many heaty (e.g. deep-fried, grilled) foods."

That would have been so good to have today with the rainy weather
- Tamara
Sure does, and it's also good if you're sick.

It's just a heated yoga class. I took an easy one so it was only about 84 degrees in the room. A couple weeks ago I took a half spin/half yoga class in a 95 degree room and thought I was going to die. It was awesome :)
- Tamara
that sounds like fun. I never took any yoga classes before.

Try it! but make sure to go more than once (if you don't like it at first). My ex roomie went with me once and swore he'd never go again but I made him go again and he liked it.

Y'all have no idea how relieved I am to discover that I am not alone in making the association between this light fixture design and well-formed boobage! All those years of tacit guilt! I mean, as if the glass shape wasn't enough, they go and add those perfectly erect "nipple caps"... Who are you trying to kid, lighting designers?!!
- Mark J

Meh, I'm unimpressed. We have the Nippledome here after all.
- Lix
Thanks for the offer to take the brass as spare, will graciously pass. ;)
- Janet-The Bottley Crue
Well, I figured I'd offer after making the offending remarks vis a vis your lights. :(

My wife and I call these "boob lights". Sometimes even in lighting stores...

Derrick - I know you aren't actually watching the show, but I thought you might like to see your future ex-husband singing Prince songs. :D

Happy Birthday Kristin! Happy Birthday Rodfather! (I was gonna say "Happy Birthday to *THE BOTH* OF YOU!" because I know how that annoys grammarians... but I didn't.)

Happy Birthday, Rodfather! Thanks LB for the well wishes!

"In a world where the term 'changing the font' conjures the drag and click of a computer mouse, a visit to the San Francisco Center for the Book provides a whole new appreciation for those newspaper typesetters of old, who set every letter of each edition by hand."

"M2A: Fantastic Voyage is a project that tries to demonstrate the differences between processed foods and whole foods inside the human body. Stefani Bardin, a professor of design, and Braden Kuo, a gastroenterologist, sent a M2A* pill camera through two human subjects. One (left) ate ramen noodles, blue Gatorade, and gummi bears. The other (right) ate whole foods, including fresh made noodles."

"Notice how the shape of the ramen noodles is still apparent on the left and the handmade ramen noodles on the right are no longer recognizable as noodles? Even after two and a half hours? That’s because top ramen is made to survive Armageddon. Our homemade ramen noodles are made to be eaten."
- CW✔
...I had ramen for dinner. Thankfully not top ramen.
- Tamara
Thinking about it, noodles might not be a fair comparison. I don't think they're chewed as much as other foods may be.
- Tamara
I personally try not to chew noodles, some years back I remember seeing something that said culturally they represent fortune and you don't want to cut that short.

Just totalled my car, and have to file a petition for guardrails along the road to my house. What kind of road has less than <1 inch of brim and no rails?
Surprisingly got out with only a scrape on my knee, but the engine compartment was shoved in between 12-24" and this is a subaru, there ain't no room for that kind of compression, so I'm surprised.

Man, I wish the other image wasn't so blatant in exposing it. I thought I was just clicking to a bigger image. :/ I wanted to hunt for it. Even knowing I can't see it in the thumbnail. Still awesome, though.
