I just noticed I've made over 3,000 comments on this new acct. That's pretty illustrative of why I needed to leave. :~( *hugs Penguin*

Patricia Hanrahan, the one I convinced that Bishop 6 was into her, which he was, so much so they are getting married this autumn. Gondul on twitter, where she still tweets

Dave, assuming you mean this Tina and not another one: I'm getting back into the swing of things, I promise! Resumes and cover letters are taking top time slots this week, though.

Tina - You can always fall back on your classical dance training and apply at JugsJugsJugs
- Matthew DeVries
@Scoble does that mean you miss you the most?
- bendi
They'll all come back if Facebook smartly realises it could utilize it as a place to bucktest new features to around 300k users and keep it open ;)
- Nicholas James
Oguz: I am spreading my time around to other places (Twitter/Facebook/Feedly). Partly because I am not certain of FriendFeed's future but also partly because more of my friends use Twitter or Facebook.

I have a ton of friends who use Facebook and I still ignore it. It's just such a pain in the ass to use. Kind of like browsing without Privoxy.
- Akiva Moskovitz
my post frequency has definitely waned... but it's a perfect storm of life being overly busy (new house, selling old house, launching a startup, working) and FriendFeed feeling less stable from the aftermath of exodus to Facebook.
- Nathan Chase
I have so many places posting what I do, y'all never realized I was gone :-)

not missing anyone. The people I loved to see 12 months back are all still here AND I found new awesome people too. This is why it is so hard to keep myself away from FF for any length of time : (
- vijay
So weird. I was going to say Tina, but then I checked and she's been posting regularly. On her profile it says she's in my "Favourites" list, but when I go to the list I don't see any of her posts...FF bug?
- Louis Simoneau
Well I only post less as I have a job now. ;-) I'm here a lot over the weekend but it's general quiet then.
- Kol Tregaskes
Kol, you've stored up plenty of posts for the winter I dare say :) Hope the job's going well.
- Micah Wittman
With all the programming I'm doing now, I know my participation has slacked off a LOT. Also, anyone with kids is busy now with the new school year and all that entails for parents. I'll be honest, except for the bookmarklet posts I make on a daily basis (science stuff, mainly), I'm probably moving toward being a Weekend Warrior on FF. :-/
- Jason Huebel
I mostly miss Vladimir Popcorn and Captain Christmas. Oh, and then there's Bobby the frog and Kid Mustard. Man, those were the days. Where are you, Kid Mustard, you effin' fucktard?
- Christopher Harley
I post way lesser here now (and I miss myself here :P). Anna and Carmen are infrequent too. I don't remember seeing Mona, Karim or Cee Bee here in a long while.
- Parth Awasthi
I am guilty of not spreading my diseased thoughts as I did before the buy out.
- Brent - Long Live Rock
I stalk Carmen elsewhere, although I'd like to see her back her more. And KARIM... where is that crazy man? Cracks me up.
- Yolanda
Carmen is around. She's always commenting in the True Blood room.
- Jason Huebel
You know I think we are all still here, with one foot in FB. But lets face it FF still rocks. Ok I have got into posterous/tumblr but I won't leave FF. Out of my cold dead laptop!!! lol
- Kevin J Hatton
Well Kol, myself and many others seem to be on Google Reader more these days but I think that is just coincidence as the social features came out the same week as the FF-FB announcement (so we would be there anyways). I'm still shadowing FF but the topics as late haven't been as interesting and traffic is lighter so my visits seem to be briefer.
- manielse (Mark Nielsen)
It seems you didn't miss me, probably won't either, but I'm gonna tell you anyway: I'm busy organizing the Dutch Bloggies and planning to go on holiday for a week. So I am & will be quite for a while. I'm sorry for that. I love FF you know.
- Ton Zijp
Karim. That is who I miss with all my heart.

thisMoment connects to popular media sharing sites (youtube, flickr, picasa, twitter, etc) to create a platform for aggregating media around a specific event (moment).
- bendi
Twitterfall is a way of viewing the latest 'tweets' of upcoming trends and custom searches on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Updates fall from the top of the page in near-realtime. For popular trends, Twitter is queried from the Twitterfall server, and results are pushed to your browser, rather than your browser doing the queries, or your computer polling our server repeatedly. This means using Twitterfall for popular trends is nicer on Twitter than other services.

"Fed up with his own lack of compensation, Scandanavian musician Magnus Uggla launched the most pointed attack yet against the practice on his blog. After learning that his label Sony is a shareholder in Spotify and knowing that he has never received any measurable payments for his music being played there, Uggla pulled his songs declaring, “I’d rather be raped by The Pirate Bay.”"
- Ryan - @magicofpi

Good point. Seems like an unwinnable situation. It's a BS but brilliant move on the part of the labels. RIAA fights against piracy on behalf of artists while labels invest in sites like Spotify on their own behalf. Non-direct link between the two makes for difficult fight.
- bendi
Magnus' point is that he would have made more money as a street musician than what the Spotify deal with his record label is crediting his bank account. Without signing up for a deal like this, Magnus seems to be somewhat upset.
- Ari Hakkarainen
SoundCloud lets you move music fast & easy. The platform takes the daily hassle out of receiving, sending & distributing music for artists, record labels & other music professionals.

If you’ve been reading some of the previous WordPress-related articles here on Smashing Magazine, you’ll know that WordPress is much more than a blogging platform. It can be used as a CMS, too. And WordPress widgets are a powerful tool in your WordPress development arsenal.

via Webmove Thanks to these sites, those looking to build web apps with little or no programming experience aren't completely screwed. While perhaps still advanced at times for absolute beginners, popular sites like Yahoo Pipes and lesser known options like DevHub can still provide a gateway to creating online applications without years of programming experience.
- bendi
My only complaint is the lack of a river-of-news style of viewing content. I'd much rather see the content over the suggested topics. Maybe I'm missing something but I find being forced to click on each subject to be a tad frustrating. That said, the process and service seems pretty solid.
- bendi
Bendi - based on the number of websites we crawl, if we provide the river-of-news style view, you would drown in the river as you start adding more topics to your lazyfeed. We didn't want to overwhelm you with data. I hope this answered your question. Thanks! :)
- Ethan Gahng
Ethan - Perfectly understandable, I guess I'm lazier than Lazyfeed.
- bendi
I'm thinking I'll wait until it's out of the invite-only stage. At this point into the whole Web 2.0 deal, I'm not going to chase invites to services like this. If it's really good it will gain sustainable momentum that carries it through the private beta period.
- mrshl
Looks interesting, feedlyesque... would love an invite.
- Ted Roden
I wish I could like/flag items, with the result of improving Lazyfeed's understanding of my interests with each like/flag click. That would make Lazyfeed feel more interactive and engaging. Each click would improve the Lazyfeed experience for me. In sum, introduce machine learning, clickstream analysis and a news recommender system to the mix.
- Sean McBride
Sean - one of the features that we've released yesterday was "Blocking". Now you can block sources from your results by clicking on a small x button on each entry. That said, we're just getting started :-)
- Ethan Gahng
Ethan -- I noticed that you added the blocking feature, which I requested recently. Nice.
- Sean McBride
Ethan -- by the way, when I make many feature requests, it means that I really like a program and am mentally engaged with it. :) The requests should in no way be construed as criticisms -- quite the opposite. Lazyfeed, which is already impressive, strikes me as a program with great potential for further development. It's on the right track. Definitely a service to watch.
- Sean McBride
Sean - I appreciate your interest and feedback. I never take those as criticism. There are lots more to come, and you'll like it.
- Ethan Gahng
Updated articles seem to indicate the purchased copies were unauthorized versions added by a company without proper copyright. Fair enough but a lot of bad press could have been prevented with proper communication prior to or immediately at the time of removal.
