"Today, Owyang is officially announcing that he’s joining Charlene at Altimeter. However, he’s not alone in this endeavor. Deb Schultz and Ray Wang are also joining the Altimeter team. First, congratulations to everyone. We’re not only friends, we’re partners in the definition of the next landscape for communication, innovation, connectivity, and workflow. Charlene and team are capable of expanding into a national or even global force. Let’s talk a little bit about the Altimeter Group and its focus. The theme of the all star team is captured in the following statement, “The future of business requires a holistic approach to adapting and integrating emerging technologies.” Altimeter bridges the gap between emerging technology, proven solutions and the businesses who need them. It's great that @jowyang joined such a project. Trend-makers and strategists are the most necessary people in any activity. Congratulations to Jeremiah personally and to all of us too )) - antisocializationeur

A Question of "First Source"
When an aggregator links to a story or photo to drive traffic to their site, should we try to track the original source? Example- Gizmodo recently showcased a slide show of posters from the 501c http://www.826la.org the posters are a fund raiser for their work. I would like to see them get the "traffic" rather than a site that is using their work for traffic. What is the Best Practice for this? - michael sean wright
man - good question. I really hope that at some point FF is able to integrate these kinds of features - I would love to try and make sure the original source was highlighted but most of the time when I add something I just don't have the time at that moment to make sure it is the original source - Marco(aureliusmaximus)
Sources are a must. I see people re-sharing my items all the time (I have FOF on) but instead of 'reashare' they post via boorkmarklet... - Mona Nomura

A Question of "Fragmentation"
Today a visualization map/ image of the Social Media Landscape became popular but no reference was made of the Blog it came from. The author might share some of the confusion burden here because he posted the image on Flickr and it's hard to track down his blog. Is it appropriate to re-share an image from a blog without credit? The image= http://tinyurl.com/595jhr The FF Post = http://tinyurl.com/6dlwvb The Blog it came from= http://tinyurl.com/fredcav... - michael sean wright
I want to be clear that the FF post was appropriate, and a good example of relevant information sharing. Thank you to http://friendfeed.com/fruchter and http://friendfeed.com/corvida for the posts. - michael sean wright
